Pleasant and enjoyable

Breakfast was sumptuously delicious, my compliments to the chef, restaurant service was professional. All staff I interacted with from the gate-men to the cleaners, porters and receptionists, were polite, well-trained and good-mannered. Most especially the receptionist, Esther. She is a credit to Cata Hotel. The staff at this establishment are A+. Room prices are fair, pick-up from airport is free, and the location is excellent. There are restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacies close by. The bedding was excellent, I slept like a baby. Electricity was regular and the switch to the back-up generator was flawlessly done during power outages.

The door to the apartment (without kitchenette) rooms are see-through. This was the 1st time in my life I slept over in a hotel with a see-through door. Management might want to think about changing those. For context, I stayed over from 30th Dec to 2nd Jan, on the 30th the loud pool music didn't stop playing until 11pm, on the 31st, not until 2am and thankfully there was no loud music on the night of the 1st. Those staying over during the weekend might want to factor this in as the pool is smack-dab in the middle of the compound. The airport pick-up was poorly co-ordinated and after waiting for over 90 minutes, I decided that next time I'll pay for an Uber ride (mind you, only pick-up is free). The spa was not up and running, this might change in the future. I found the lunch menu to be too expensive. There were no tea and coffee supplies in the room, mugs and a kettle was available, but that was it. Also the booking.com suggested exchange rate is not the hotel's exchange rate, you will pay their $-N rate at check-in.

Great location, great hotel.

Location was great, safe and close to the airport. We were picked up from the airport. Professional staff. Breakfast was fantastic. Highly recommended hotel

Please change the toilet brush. Either sanitise them or replace them often.

Pleasurable.

The kitchen counter and sink in the apartment could have been cleaner.

Overall my family were happy of the cleanliness of the rooms and the pool.

The breakfast was great and the hotel is well located. The staff are great and attentive to issues.

Our Experience at Cata Apartment

Ohhhh... sumptuous meals very delicious.. excellent customer services... and cosy environment...

The spa was not functioning and only a very few TV stations were working...

Location and good customer service

Food and drinks expensive. Bottle of sprite for 500 naira and breakfast was limited as you are allowed only three items. You can’t have bread and cornflakes

Not pleasant and no value for money

The breakfast could have been better if given enough options. The location is not bad, it is within reach of both the local and the International Airport

The entire building need a retouch to give it a befitting looking

Was fair.

The apartment was clean. And staffs very well mannered. The front desk persons and 2 porters (Felix and the one with the Yoruba accent) where excellent.

The water heater wasn’t working. And we had to boil water with the electric jug to bath using a bucket and soap can. Also the Afang soup dint have periwinkles in them. It was too spicy. Pounded yam wasn’t smooth at all and it was too soft. Waterlogged

Maybe a bit of the noise coming from the room beside me. Looks like they were having a party in their room. Not totally out of place anyway.

I liked staying here.

The pool albeit small was sufficient for my needs and it was available 24 hours which I liked. It got busy sometimes but not so much that I could not do a daily swim if I wanted to Though I had read reviews that the complimentary breakfast was only served to one guest even if there were two guests staying, it did not happen to me on the first day but it wanted to happen to me the next day but obviously because it had been done before I liked that they continuously offered the breakfast to both guests Their shrimp cocktail is to die for, it was absolutely beautiful! I read reviews that their breakfast does not offer a lot of choices but the choices they had were acceptable as a breakfast menu but they could put more variety in the way of juices I like that their apartment had a fridge, a cooker, and a microwave. It was truly good to have the option of making your own meal if you wanted to I like the turn down services as the staff cleaned the rooms every day changed the linen and towel, gave body lotion, shower gel, and soap daily The room I booked was very spacious, it had a desk, ample storage space, the air conditioning worked well, sometimes a little too well, and the room is good to conduct some office housekeeping and still be able to relax They did lose electricity now and again especially when the light came on and the generator had to be turned off but all in all it wasn't so much that it was inconvenient and their Wi-Fi was stable and sufficient to stream a couple of videos or downloads some Netflix videos. The staff was courteous and I believe that they did their best to accommodate guests regardless of how guests may have felt about some unclear procedures. They were friendly and always available and eager to assist you with your queries I did not use the gym a lot but from what I saw it was ok as something to be used while staying in a the hotel.

I didn't like that when you went in to check in the price on booking.com is not even considered as the hotel uses the dollar rate for the day and they use the dollar rate as per aboki and not as the banks which booking.com uses so I couldn't really budget for that because I had a different amount that booking.com said I was going to pay but when I got there I paid more than that I didn't like the fact that there was a menu being used to price room service that wasn't shared with the guests so the staff had the real menu and the guests had the menu with outdated prices I also did not like that the pool was smaller than it appeared on pictures and that it wasn't cleaned daily I did not like the ambiguity that was sometimes portrayed by the staff. For example serving both guests the complimentary breakfast and then the next day saying it can only be served to 1 and bringing the complimentary breakfast to the room and then the next day making it seem like this would be a problem. Their procedures were not clear Their TV service did not offer a lot of options in the form of channels and some channels were not even clear They had too many flowers even on the stairs which is already narrow to begin with and around the pool which meant that leaves fell into the pool making it dirty even faster, and to be honest if you're going to do a floral show at least have some colours not just green I think the pool temperature may have benefited from being regulated because after walking under the hot sun sometimes you just want to enter a really cold pool

Exchange rate issues...be careful

One thing I will never fault is their food. Wow myself, my partner and my daughter we enjoyed meals. The service was poor and in this Covid time, they didn't have any non pharmaceutical interventions in place. At your own risks. Two of the staff from the F&B I don't remember their names were courteous. One is a lady very tall and the other is the young gentleman in the bar area both were excellent.

The staff there do not have an idea of what they are about and need serious training. The only staff that at all times I had contact with the staff at the desk is the one called Esther and the rest including the so called man who claimed to be the MD. I wished I had had the chance to see the owner to talk to her about my experience. One staff called Omotola has no respect and had to be scolded by a very nice Mama as I called her to stand up and attend to me. Ask for Esther please
