Es war alles so wie im Inserat beschrieben. Besonders gefallen hat uns die tolle Aussicht und die bestens eingerichtete Küche. Wir werden sehr gerne wiederkommen.

Sehr sauber, toller Blick, ohne Auto (nur Kleinstwagen!) etwas anstrengend zu erreichen.

Die Ferienwohnung hat eine große Fensterfront zum Balkon und ist dadurch schön hell und der Balkon bietet eine tolle Sicht über Funchal zum Meer. Die Wohnung liegt in einer Sackgasse und hat deshalb wenig Straßenlärm. Außerdem ist sie nicht weit entfernt von einigen Sehenswürdigkeiten Funchals Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wie immer haben wir den Aufenthalt sehr genossen; die Vermieter sind freundlich, nett und hilfsbereit und die Kommunikation hat wunderbar funktioniert. Mit Sicherheit gerne wieder.

Perfekt und sauber Nähe der Altstadt. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt und vor allem den Balkon sehr genossen. Etwas schwierig war nur das Befahren des Parkplatzes mit unserem größer en Auto

Wer in der Oberstadt wohnt, befindet sich im alten wahren Funchal. Mit engen Gassen und auch ein paar Stufen. Unter Einheimischen und wenigen Touristen. Da bellt auch mal ein Hund. Oder der Nachbar grillt auf dem Balkon nebenan Sardinen. Kein Platz für große Autos. Anfahrt fast bis zum Haus ist gut möglich. Zu Fuß sind viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und gemütliche Restaurants sowieso am besten zu erreichen. Beim etwas anstrengenden Rückweg zum Haus winkt stets als Belohnung die einmalige Aussicht auf Funchal. Diesen Balkon will man gar nicht mehr verlassen. Inzwischen mit Sonnenschirm und Liege ausgestattet. Klasse. Ansonsten gibt es absolut nichts zu kritisieren. Eine Top- Wohnung, modern und bestens ausgestattet. Gutes WiFi, internationales TV ( alle wichtigen deutsche Programme), bequeme Betten. In der Küche ist alles vorhanden, sogar eine Waschmaschine. Praktisch. Selbstversorgung leicht gemacht. Freundlicher Empfang durch Pedro auch noch am späten Abend. Wie gewünscht war der Kühlschrank mit Getränken gefüllt. Wenn wir wieder nach Funchal kommen, dann nur in diese Wohnung.

Just left and can't wait to get back! When you first walk in you can't help but be floored by the view - and pictures don't do it justice. We spent some time every evening sitting on the balcony looking at the view. The location was fantastic - a short walk to the center of Funchal and a grocery store, and the tourist information center. If you stay here you will walk a lot. We averaged 5 to 7 miles most days. The property is on a steep hill so if you have trouble with mobility this probably isn't a good fit for you. There was also a fort and a very cool museum right in our neighborhood so you will be busy. Unless you plan on driving a lot I wouldn't recommend getting a car unless you get a very small one as the streets are winding and quite narrow in this part of town. We were also very close to bust stops and taxi stands, so if we were heading to other parts of the island that would had been easy. Check in and check out were super easy (thank you, Pedro!). The rooms were spacious and the laundry and showers both worked great. We cooked a few times and found everything we needed (in terms of pots, pans, and utensils). We made grocery store stops most days on our way home so that was very convenient. We also had a perfect view for the fireworks! Now I have to figure out how to get pastel de nata once I get home. The apartment was very clean and especially the kitchen was very well equipped. Very fast WLAN. Beautiful view from livingroom and one of the bedrooms on the harbour with incoming and outgoing cruise ships. The weather was a bit chilly for the first days but we had a fan heater in the apartment. Even an umbrella was provided! Our host was always helpful and we always got a quick response. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

The apartment was well-equipped and pleasant to stay in. Pedro, the owner (or manager) was very kind and helpful. The views over the sea from the apartment were wonderful, and every day (and often every hour) presented a different picture as the weather varied. The apartment is well-situated near the town centre, though with a fairly steep 15 minute walk up to it. We arrived from the airport by car, and that was not an easy journey. The complex traffic system in Funchal, with one-way streets and tunnels, is hard to negotiate. Pedro had advised using a SatNav or Google. It turns out that some satnavs (I have TomTom app for Android phone) have an incorrect plan of the local road layout, indicating a non-existent access route to the apartment street. iOS Maps have the same mistake. Google Maps have the right layout. Finally, the parking space is not large and the access road very steep and narrow. I would advise hiring the smallest car you can!

Two weeks without rain(19/1-2/2), but if you visit the levadas higher in the mountains you will be wet and cold. Try the levadas near Funchal Is our advice. Levada Piornais(bus 45) and Levada Corral de Castelejo (bus 8,12) are simular and situated above each other. Dont stop, they ends far away, but they are really scarry in the forests. Or you can take bus 22, pass the funiculare and walk Levada dos tornos to Camacha. There are even other options nearby Funchal. Bus 133 to end station and then one hours walk to Sao Lorenzo is very beutiful. There is a coffehouse out there. Funchal is a very nice city to walk around, but very hilly. But is is also possible to walk from Funchal to Camara de Lobos, passing the hotels in Lido. Take your time and enjoy. Matts and Birgitta(Sweden)

We stayed for almost 2 weeks and hated to leave. Every morning we watched a beautiful sunrise. The apartment is modern and airy with a great kitchen and with enough dishes to be able to use the dishwasher. The internet was fast enough to stream movies. Pedro arranged a taxi to pick us up at the airport and Fernanda met us at the apartment. She is a very lovely lady who explained everything and left us with gifts or Madeira wine and honey cake/

Sitting just above the old town, the house is 5 to 10 minutes walk from the sea front. We went in February so the weather wasn't great but still plenty to do in Funchal and on tours over the island.

We never got tired of looking out of the big windows that overlooked the bay. Loved watching the boats and cruise ships coming and going out of the docks. The house had been very recently renovated and so every room was immaculate and up to date with furnishings and appliances. We were met at the property by the owner's son Pedro, who presented us with a bottle of Madeira wine and cake, a nice touch. Both he, and his mother, gave us a huge amount of help when one of us fell ill. Because of the hi-tec appliances, and being older people ourselves, it would be helpful for written instructions in English on how to use them! But that was our only problem during our two week stay. Would highly recommend this property.

This is a spacious and well equipped apartment, very comfortable. It is the top floor of a house, but with private access from the higher street level. The view from the balcony, which stretches right across the width of the apartment is just stunning, the whole of Funchal laid out to gaze at. The roads back up from town are steep, but taxis are easy to find. We had an excellent welcome from Pedro, who also organised taxis to and from the airport very efficiently. Definitely recommended.

Very glad to have enjoyed the incredible views from this spotlessly clean and well equipped apartment. We were greeted with Madeira wine and cake 🙂�. We ate out most of the time and were fitter by the end of the holiday because we walked everywhere in Funchal, which is hilly. The highlight for me was a day safari of the west coast with Safari Madeira Island. We would have done the East coast if in Madeira longer.

We were met by Pedro and Fernanda at their house and they are both lovely people. They greeted us with some madeira wine and cake (both very welcome!) and really helpful in showing all the facilities in the house. The house is kitted out with absolutely everything you would need for your holiday including a dishwasher, washing machine and two bathrooms! The view is fabulous and we enjoyed many nights on the balcony, admiring the view and sipping Madeira wine :) The house in very central and takes about 10 minutes to walk to the main streets in Funchal. However, we often took a taxi back on a night as Funchal is steep to walk in places and it cost less than five Euros. Overall we really enjoyed our holiday in Funchal and the stay in this house made it even better. We would recommend this house for a stay in Funchal and we hope to return here soon.

Fernanda and Pedro were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much for them. The house is exceptionally well equipped for all you could possible need. The property is in a very friendly residential area and is only a fifteen minute walk to the centre of Funchal. If you feel like a ride back there are plenty of taxis available for approx five euros. We would not hesitate to revisit this house and Maderia with all it's beautiful scenery, food and character.

Loved this house. Very comfortable, very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. Fantastic view from the balcony. Great location only ten minutes walk from lots of restaurants and the supermarket. The tours all pick up only 5 minutes walk away. It is a steep walk home at night but this is Funchal, everything is uphill. Didn't get to do everything we wanted to in just one week so we will be back!

The house is great. Very comfortable with a marvelous view over Funchal and the bay. It's about a ten minute walk down into the old town - a bit hilly but so is Funchal. We had a great holiday.

Before you can register the spotless and well-considered layout, before you realise that every need has been anticipated, before you are aware of the kindness of a Madeira-wine-and-cake welcome, you are drawn to THAT VIEW. It is breathtaking, so close and yet far at the same time. It follows you from room to room. From airport pick-up to extra blankets, Fernanda and her son Pedro made this small house a home for our five days there. Fluffy rugs greeted our feet every morning; thirsty towels warmed us after showering. The balcony table and chairs became our de-facto dining and drinking spot. When the temperatures dropped, we could still star gaze from the sofa. By the end of our brief holiday, we felt like we had made new friends. Fernanda and Pedro, thank you so much. We will be back.

We were blown away by the standard of the accommodation and the stunning view. Everything had been thought of by the owners, it was very well equipped and very stylishly furnished. Only a 5 minute walk away from the shops, restaurants and sea front. I would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.
