I paid for breakfast, and then it was optioned at check in. The breakfast would have been spartan, but we refused (despite having had it concluded in my bill. No bus going up the steep mountain road would reach the place, so we HAD to take a taxi. There was no clear indication that a car/taxi was necessary to have a pleasant stay. The staff was pretty much invisible, though the room was quite spacious and had a spectacular view. There is no desk for the pc which is close to the outlet, but my cord was just long enough to operate my pc from the table in front of the sofa. The host needs to be more forthcoming of the pluses and minuses above.

Lack of transparency about distance/location of accommodation from Atami Station. Breakfast details were also vague, even after we arrived. With a car, it would be a quite reasonable deal, but because Booking.com put this on the main page of Atami listings, I didn't believe that I - the patron/guest - would have to assume the worst about anything at the offering price.

Beautiful view

Little too old and not renovated for the price and breakfast included was only continental snack type breakfast. Coffee was difficult to get.
