We stayed for 16 days in Joanna’s ground floor apartment which was spacious and easy to access with the car up a short steep hill. It was listed as a luxury apartment but there were some things that needed some more attention to detail. Mellieha is a town set on several steep hills with shops and a big supermarket at the top. Buses are frequent and fairly nearby. It was fairly quiet in the area over Christmas. There were some nice cafes on the sea front.

Ideally situated with good views across Mellieha Bay. Arrived on a Wednesday and experienced a pungent smell. Told not to use the washing machine because there was a problem. Later in the day told not to use the kitchen and one of the toilets due to a plumbing blockage. To be fair we were offered the use of another apartment but it was on a higher floor and I do have a knee problem. The blockage was sorted out by 9am on the Friday morning. The apartment was large and well equipped although an extra chopping board would have been very useful for vegetables etc. Our friends said it was the best that they had ever been in and they travel extensively. The only items we would have liked was a dustpan to use after sweeping up and a mop. With the swimming pool outside of our room it was a really convenient location. Providing the drainage system is not a recurrent problem, we would happily stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this large bright apartment. It is well equipped and the welcome pack was very useful. The beds were very comfortable and there was lots of clothes hanging space. The outside space was good with a lovely view towards the sea and right next to the pool. Unfortunately the pool was really cold! The apartment is situated in a quiet residential area and it is up a hill but it’s only a short walk to the bus stop where you can catch a bus up into the town or walk. It’s a pleasant walk to the lovely beach and there are shops and restaurants there. Mellieha is a nice resort and judging by the amount of building going on it is an up and coming place. We hired a car from Billy’s in the town but there are plenty of buses that go all round the island. The apartment is a very relaxing place to come back to after a day out and you can relax with a drink and enjoy the views from the patio. There was no safe when we arrived but after we emailed Joanna it was sorted within a day by Nick who was very helpful. All in all we had a great holiday in a spacious modern apartment and the only disappointment was the pool being too cold for me to use but my husband braved it.

We had a great week in Malta. We were 4 people, my wife and son and his wife. We had plenty of space in the apartment as it was large, modern and very well equipped. When we went to the beach we had plenty of utensils to make a picnic. There was a large ice-box to freeze water bottles. It was very hot and the air-conditioning worked well, as did the immersion heater for hot water. The apartments were up a steep hill but that meant we had a superb view of Mellieha Bay and could see Gozo on the horizon. We enjoyed this whenever we sat on the veranda, especially at night. And there was no noise from the neighbours. We hired a car from Billy’s. They picked us up from the apartment and took us to the office. I told Manuel we were going to visit Valletta but he said “Go to the Sunday market at Marxallok”, which we did and had a great day out. We also went to the old capital, Mdina, so atmospheric, and did a boat tour of the Grand Harbour at Valletta. If you visit Gozo be sure to visit the Cittadella, an unmissable experience. We went out nearly every night and used Billy’s taxi service and found them friendly and reliable. But one day we were late getting back from Gozo so bought a tasty fish and chip take-away from the Ocean Bar, which is about a 10-minute walk from the apartments. On the same street we had two really good meals at IX-Xatba and Zozis’s. Both had a friendly family atmosphere and served great food. But the best meal we had was the Maltese set menu at Ta-Randi, near Billy’s car hire office. On the last day we hung around the pool, which was very conveniently located right next to the apartment and there were plenty of sun beds. We got a take-away lunch from Champs bakery, which was recommended by Joanna, the apartment owner. It was delicious so we bought extra for the plane home. My wife and I agreed this was the best holiday we’ve ever had, partly because Malta and Gozo were so enjoyable, but also because we felt completely comfortable in these apartments.

We spent a great week in this apartment. Everything is perfect, the situation is nice, the view is beautiful. It's very well equipped. All we need for a week. Thanks a lot again.

We have never been to Malta and the first impressions were not great, less than impressive car hire staff and an even less than impressive car! However a short drive later we arrived in Mellieha and found the apartment. The local agent, Nick, called us as we arrived to tell us the apartment was ready so that was useful as we were early. Nick showed us round, explained how everything worked, especially the air conditioning and the electronic gates! he then left us to it telling us to call if we needed anything. The apartment is in a block of 11 and is modern and very clean. there is a pool outside and the area is again very clean and well maintained. As explained in the very comprehensive handover notes everyting is quite close, the beach, the longest on the island apparently, is about a 10 minute walk away, yes there is a hill but we didnt mind that, it wasnt the steepest we encountered! The village has a large range of restaurants that cater for every taste and there are shops and small foodstores either 5 minutes walk or a similar drive to the larger market. Malta's roads are not the best but its no problem as the longest drive is about 40 minutes and that would get you anywhere on the island! we took the owners advice and vsited Gozo, Comino, Medina, Valletta, Marsaxlokk plus a few other places. The buses are frequent and cheap and i would recommend using them for trips to St Pauls Bay where we took a boat to Gozo, we used Sea Adventures and had a great time, they offered a tour of Gozo which we found to be interesting and value for money. We had no problems at all with the apartment or our stay and i would be happy to recommend this apartment to anyone, great for kids or adults as there is a 7pm cut off for the pool which should keep noise down. The view from the terrace looks out over the bay and out to the sea. We didnt make full use of the kitchen as we ate out but the facilities are good and, again, modern. 3 bathrooms ensured we could get ready quickly and 3 bedrooms allowed us to have our own space. We had a great time so thanks very much!!

Blown away with this luxurious, spacious apartment. Extremely well looked after, modern clean and very well equipped. Stunning views over the bay, great pool just steps from the patio doors, lovely seating shaded area. The apartment has everything you need and more. The air conditioning was extremely welcoming. Our whole experience with Joanna was completely hassle free from beginning to end. Extremely well organised, including the lovely, helpful Gino who was waiting at the airport in Malta and on time for our pick up for departure. In our experience, nothing was too much trouble. Whether it's relaxing, water sports, or beach holiday, this has it all. Bus stop isn't far at all and buses are regular. The only downside (and this was a very small downside) was the fact that the apartment is at the top of a hill, so if you have problems walking long distance, you will need to hire a car. The advantage of this was of course the stunning views and the lovely breeze. Malta is a special place and I would very happily stay here again. Thank you Joanna and family.

Having used several apartments within the exclusive Tas Sellum development, I can honestly say that this apartment is by far my favourite. Situated directly onto the pool area, it makes for VERY relaxing hot sunny days. The pictures don't do it justice. The furnishings are of a very high quality as are the bathroom towels. I am very picky when it comes to mattresses and often have problems sleeping in hotels because of it. No trouble here! Excellent mattresses and pillows which caused a few long lies! The kitchen is a great size and very well equipped with excellent knives, (has been a sticking point with me in other apartments) lots of (matching) crockery and glasses, apron, tea towels, oven gloves, etc. The washing machine is located in the kitchen which isn't always the case in Malta and has a great short wash for refreshing pool towels. I didn't use the dryer option as there's a wonderful wrap around terrace to the rear of the property with clothes horse and pull line. The balcony opens directly onto the pool area as mentioned (has a lock if you have small children) which allows you to pull your sunloungers/chairs onto the pool deck. There are lots of loungers and chairs with comfortable covers. The 3 bedrooms are all double sized, with plenty of storage. A safe is available in the master bedroom along with 2 hairdryers. All in all a wonderful apartment which the owners should be very proud of. I holiday in Malta at least twice a year and can't wait to return to this apartment. Book now!

We (a family of 5) recently staying at this superb apartment. Having been to Malta a few times, we wanted somewhere central and this apartment ticks all the boxes! The owners (Joanna and husband) have written the most concise and excellent instructions (including a step by step guide on how to get there) and you really couldn't ask for more. In addition, their apartment manager Nick is helpful, friendly and local. Dont listen to much to the negative reviews if you see any, the apartment lacks for nothing. Book with confidence, I would book again without hesitation

we were met by the key holder at the apartment and were very impressed with both the gated complex and the apartment itself. there is a beach nearby, although we preferred the beach a couple of miles away. The complex was quiet clean and tidy. the air conditioning was invaluable, we would most definitely book this apartment again next time we visit Malta.

We were here over the new year, and the weather, although not hot obviously, was a lot nicer than at home, including one day of clear blue skies and 22 degrees! The apartment was perfect for us, a family of five, and the town was good for eating and drinking. We spent new years eve at Amigo, and unlike at home the prices were normal menu prices. A good meal and a very friendly place, which I highly recommend. All in all a good holiday!

We had a wonderful in Malta, we would certainly use the apartment again. It T was spacious, clean and met all our requirement. The owner and the apartment manager were very helpful. The beach is 10 minutes away and the swimming pool is outside the apartment. I would not have any problem in recommending the apartment to families with young children. Bal from Leicester

Our holiday was really badly spoilt by misleading information describing the property, problems we had with the apartment immediately upon our stay and the way these problems were handled by the owner and local agent. At no time did the owner offer an apology or seem particularly sympathetic. We immediately encountered a number of problems with the apartment, including the shower, the television, the DVD player and the air conditioning. Furthermore, we had to make several expensive phone calls (and extra expense) in trying to have the problems addressed. Unfortunately, the local agent does not answer the phone and will not respond to text messages. We spoke to the owner and were left with the unmistakable impression that she was almost a bit put out by having to deal with these things. Indeed, the owner expressed more sympathy for the local agent having to come out to deal with these things than for us, her paying customers! The owner reminded us that we were in a foreign country! The way it was handled was very disappointing, rude at times, and only added to our frustration. The apartment is in a really awful part of the otherwise very nice town of Mellieha. The development is on a very steep hillside and it is necessary to walk up and down the very steep hills and generally really unpleasant area, in order to get anywhere. The advertising and description of the property has it that the property is within walking distance of Ghadira Bay Beach. It is not. From the way the property is described, we had expected to be able to walk to the beach and not even to need buses, taxis or hire cars. The property does not look out to sea, as advertised. We could not get the air conditioning to work in the bedrooms. When we reported this, we were told it was working fine when the cleaners were at the property and insinuating we had therefore 'messed it up'! The advertisement for this property, when we booked, stated cable television and 30-40 channels. This is really misleading, as there is really only 1 English speaking channel that is not news and with any really watchable content (National Geographic). A DVD player is advertised with the property, but this did not work! The apartment is part of a major and ongoing development of 11 or more blocks of apartments. On the terrace you can expect the harsh accompaniment of angle-grinding and dust clouds, with the ongoing building work on the adjacent apartments.

Lovely, clean and spacious apartment. Excellent facilities. Everything you need for 6 people. Sheared pool was plenty big enough and well maintained.. We found the hills quite hard going in the fantastic 37 degrees heat of the Malta summer, so hired a car. We also used Gino's taxi transfer, he was very efficient and even helped us into the apartment with our bags. Would definitely recommend this apartment and will be returning.

We stayed here as a family of six. Grandparents, daughter and son in law and two young children. The apartment was ideal ad there was lots of room. The patio which faces the pool has a lockable gate so we could ensure the two year old was safe. The pool area was quiet. The hill down to the beach is quite steep and we were glad we had hired a car for taking all the paraphernalia that goes with children. There are several restaurants which are inexpensive, as is the island in general. I would recommend the apartment and Malta for a family holiday.
