Relaxed, friends weekend away

Clean and modern house set on a beautiful working farm. The house was spacious and had the all the equipment that you would expect. The indoor braai and table tennis table were a hit. Sonja and Charity were highly responsive to our messages and extremely welcoming. The views of the rolling hills are amazing.

We didn't see any outdoor seating area or fire pit/ braai, etc. This was fine for us since we were there in cold, windy weather. I am sure that if you were to go in peak summer you would want to sit and enjoy the outdoors more.

Wonderfully isolated amid beautiful countryside

The location was perfect, very private, very quiet and beautiful dark sky nights. Sonja was very helpful and provided an iron and hairdryer when we asked.

It was disappointing not to see Sonja on the day we left.

Great farm, great host

Beautiful house. Very spacious. Extremely friendly and pro-active host showing us the animals (incl Zebras) of the farm. Highlight was stargazing at night.. as the farm is so remote we saw as many Stars as never before.

Of course quite a Ride via gravel road but worth the trip.

Perfect Family farm getaway

Beautiful setting, secluded, perfect if you have kids. Running/hiking trails on the farm, leading down to the Breede River. Really enjoyed our weekend

Beautiful large house in a beautiful quiet surrounding. wonderful host!

it is further away from town than we had expected. we arrived a bit late and did not have enough groceries. the nearest supermarket is almost 30min drive on a dirt road. Luckily te host helped us out with some dairy from the farm, veggies and fruits. Excellent service!

Beautiful farm house with unique atmosphere

We had a great stay - the indoor barbecue has been a highlight. The views are beautiful and you find everything you need. The host has been adorable. Absolutely recommendable!

You couldnt use the pool or better say pond as it hasent been maintained and no filter/cleaning for the water.

We were greeted in person and shown around. Huge, spotless house with everything we needed. In fact it was much bigger than we thought... And if you look for calmness, you are here on the perfect spot!

Farmland solitude

Exceptionally clean, abundance of closet space everywhere, enough space for a large family to not get on top of each other, stunning views and location was perfect and safe. 2 border collies took it upon themselves to guide us to the river and back (sheep herding fashion), that was super special ❤️

A peaceful and relaxing weekend in a spectacular location

The location was absolutely stunning. Sonja was a fantastic host. The farmhouse was well appointed with everything we needed and super clean. Hopefully we will be returning for another visit soon.

Great farm experience, with great facilities. It was wonderful to be out in nature and the house was well resourced and extremely clean. Looking forward to going again.

Great for a family breakaway with little kids

The tranquility, quietness and beautiful surrounds really made our trip. Kids had over enough space to run around both inside and outside the house. The kitchen facilities were excellent. We could also enjoy a spectacular sunrise every morning. Money well spent!

We had to ask for the dstv connection to be turned on, and it was then again turned off before 6am the morning before we left, leaving the little kids a bit unsettled while we packed up

A wonderful stay in a beautiful farm house, in the middle of nowhere. Loved the river!

The house was lovely and spacious with a separate bathroom for each bedroom. The views looking out from the house were beautiful - no sign of other humans for miles. We thoroughly enjoyed swimming and paddling on the river, playing table tennis and braaiing at the indoor braai in the evenings, and viewing the beautiful eland, black springbok, ostrich and zebra. Everything was wonderfully clean and well kept, and the wifi was great. Lovely and close to De Hoop Nature Reserve which made for a wonderful day trip. Also enjoyed a trip to the Malagas Pont to cross the river on a ferry - kids loved it!

It was a bit strange not having an oven in the kitchen, especially given how lovely and spacious the kitchen is. Make sure you know which house you're booking because the Farm House (as opposed to the Manor House) does not have a pool or pool table. This should be made clearer in the booking process. Also this IS a working farm - so when calves are removed from their mothers, expect a LOT of bellowing!
