Sweet and sour experience that is not at the level of the price per night

The room was very spacious, with a lot of windows and very clean. The double bed was very big, king size, and very comfortable. All windows have inner shutters that allows a full dark at night. The breakfast was very good, served at the table, including eggs that are done at the moment. The garden is very nice. Edgar is doing a good job.

Some points made me feel disappointed with the overall experience at Herdade do Ananas. 1)The house perfume used at the reception-breakfast room and corridors is too intense and very uncomfortable, it sticks to your throat. 2) We had a pineapple experience included in the price of the room but it was very disappointing. The lady guided us to the green houses (a path that is already marked, and therefore it could be done by oneself) but she didn’t explain much, just opened the houses one after the other and told what she saw. At the end of the walk, I was expecting a tasting of something made with ananas, but nothing at all is offered. For me this is not an pineapple experience at all and I do not recommend people to pay extra for it. 3) Pineapple offered for breakfast was NOT fresh ananas, it seemed canned, how can that be possible? 4) The jars of marmalade offered for breakfast are too big, so either they are spoilt after one use or they are refill, which is also not good. 5) In the garden there are some kind of gas-fired places. In the evening we asked if it was possible to fire them and we were told it was not, and offered a candle instead. 6) The jacuzzi is not inviting.

Herdade do Ananás was an absolute gem with the most delightful, accommodating staff.

From the minute we booked our reservation the staff was in touch to ask about dinner reservations, dietary restrictions, food preferences. The property was beautifully manicured, the rooms were bright, decorated simply and elegantly. The beds were incredibly comfortable with simple clean linens. The breakfast was extraordinary with so many options of fresh juices, coffee, breads, cheeses, meats, local specialties, eggs prepared to order, pineapples from the property. All of this displayed in the the most appealing way. the hot tub was uniquely situated in one of the pineapple greenhouses. We would absolutely come back to Herdede do Ananás without hesitation.

Honestly, we had not a single complaint.

The food was amazing..rooms nice,clean and comfortable..staff very nice and helpfull and they made us feel,like we are at home..the hacienta so beautifull..we try their home made pineapple wine and juice and other home made products..we enjoy every minute..ps.you have to try jacuzzi betwen pineapples..thank you for carring for us..

Lovely staff! Very fresh breakfast (fresh juices, home made jams, fruits...), big rooms and a large good bed, very nice property, lovely hot jaccuzi between the ananas plantages. nice to see the growing ananas.

Sweet and cozy stay

- unique hotel on a pineapple farm - beautiful interior - delicious generous amount of breakfast included - staff were very helpful, and kind - room is spacious, cozy, clean and quiet

two minor things to consider: - not sure if this is an intended design but the jacuzzi button seems to only last about 1 minute and we had to keep pressing it - the room has a heating system but also probably needs a humidifier

ALL WAS GREAT. This is an exceptional hotel. We didn’t plan to stay longer than 1 day as we wanted to visit entire island but they caught us for more nights - they break to the pieces the competition around. I won’t say anything new than reviews below: breakfast was just great - you will find everything what you want. Staff is lovely. Room fulfill every need (big plus for towel dryer!). Jacuzzi is such a great idea to do it in the greenhouse - congratulations to the idea-maker! We highly recommend if you want to rest in the unique place, with a free parking (hard to find parking spaces in the area) and to learn more about pineapples. I would love to come back :)

incredible hospitality and kindness from every single member of the staff. Room was very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. we had dinner at the restaurant and it was the best meal we have had anywhere in a long long time - truly outstanding.

Amazing place surrounded by ananas plantation

Great location, very close to the airport, with parking place inside. Beautiful, small swimminig pool with warm water (also called as jaccuzzi spa) inside ananas greenhouse, opened 8 am till 11pm. There are very thick bathrobes in the room, so you can walk to the greenhouse pool in your swimming suite already on, even if there is 10C outside :) We were lucky always to be alone in the pool, so kids could play and have a lot of fun. Really good breakfast with fresh squeezed ananas or orange juice and a lemonade and a few kinds of local cheese. You can also get a tour at 10.30 or 5pm around the ananas plantation to see different stages of ananas grow.

It's a hotel on a pineapple farm! Why wouldn't you stay?

How cool is it to stay on a pineapple farm?! That was my main takeaway from this cool boutique hotel. The rooms were very large and had tall ceilings, comfortable beds, and a good overall ambiance. The staff were extremely friendly, and welcoming and had a great sense of humor. They also give you a tour of their pineapple farm and have a jacuzzi in one of the pineapple greenhouses. To say that the experience was unique would be a great understatement. I really enjoyed our stay here, and wish I would have stayed a bit longer. Also to note: The piña colada I had with dinner the night we stayed was probably one of the best I've ever had.

Superb

This place was really beyond my expectatives, the staff is doing a great job making the clients feel at home. From the beginning (I arrive one hour later than the limit for the check in) to the end when they gave me and my girfriend a packed breakfast to eat in the airport, since our flight was really early in the morning. The room was actually larger than it seemed in the pictures, perfectly clean and with a large comfortable bed. I found really useful also the parking inside the structure. Absolutely suggested

Stunning pineapple farm

Amazing decor and attention to detail. Sitting by the firepit at night was very enjoyable as was the jacuzzi. Dinner and breakfast were delicous and very well presented. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommended a stay here.

Great place to stay!

Our family of four really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Herdade do Ananas. The building looks beautiful with Instagram worthy interiors. We shared a quad room which worked for us as we didn’t have too much luggage. I appreciate the cool features like the heated towel rack. The breakfast was ample but the star of the show was dinner/ dessert. Whoever is cooking/creating menus is doing a fabulous job. The prices for the food were very reasonable and an excellent value for what you get. The staff were all kind and helpful. We loved the pool/jacuzzi in the greenhouse. The temp of the water was perfect. The shower was great with good water pressure. Now to talk about what was super helpful the fact that there’s parking inside the gates of the property. In Ponta Delgada parking can be a nightmare. You’ll be happy that you have a space to park your car at the end of the evening. This is a general tip make sure to make dinner reservations if you plan to eat in town as places do book up. Be sure to have dinner at the hotel as it’s very good. We would definitely stay again.

Theres really nothing to complain about. Small refrigerator would be nice to keep drinks cool but this is minor.

Most stylish hotel I've ever stayed in!

This is the most stylish hotel I've ever stayed in! during our stay they also made a small tour around the pineapple plantations which was super interesting. The hotel is quiet, clean and has a great restaurant after which we enjoyed hot tub right inside the pineapple greenhouse.
