Vtrips cancelled our condo and we had to stay somewhere else. How do we get a refund from Vrbo
Vtrips cancelled our condo and we had to stay somewhere else. How do we get a refund from Vrbo
Never got to see it. One star across the board because we never got to enjoy it. Nothing against the condo. Vtrips ruined our vacation. They said there was a condo rule that prevented us from renting that week. We were informed the day before check in.

The building “Sand Dollar 1Unit 504” was our condo! The building was under major construction and we were not told beforehand! We did not have beach access the elevators were horrible! And your people were not helpful! I requested a refund to which they offered $200. Laughable to say the least! I’m not accustomed to paying $3,500.00 for a condo only to be told to go next door to access the beach and two building down if you want to use the pool! We will never use your company again and will discourage our friends and family from using your company! We should have been informed before we arrived that the building was being worked on and had been since last August according to residents that live there full time!!! So no we did not enjoy our vacation and will be sure to use another rental company in the future!

Booked in February for prime summertime rates. Showed up on Saturday to find the front of the place a disaster area. Guard rails were temporarily mounted with 2x4’s with a gap just outside my room big enough that I had to cover so my 3 year old couldn’t get through. My brand new wagon and everything in it was over sprayed by the painters, and got a wake up call each morning with people drilling directly above our room. While the condo was as described, huge disappointment for the amount of money spent!

The unit wasn't cleaned well, and some things were broken. The storm door was broken. Someone came to fix it but wasn't able to. There is a hole in the wall in one of the bedrooms with a bunch of cords coming out. The toaster didn't work, the windows were absolutely filthy. Someone from the management company was there to look at the storm door and said she would send someone to clean the windows Monday or Tuesday and never did. I picked something that looked like chocolate off the bedspread. There was something that looked like peanut butter spread on one of the bedside tables -- I didn't touch that! Empty yogurt container and dirty spoon in a bedside table drawer. But this was actually minor compared to the noise. We were told before renting that there might be some jackhammering on the sidewalks of the property, and that the owner would be willing to give a discount. I asked what kind of discount, and they couldn't say. Well it turns out the jackhammering was actually on the walkway directly out our front door. Hard to tell what project they were doing, but they were taking out patches of cement to expose rebar. I guess it was a difficult task because it took them 8 hours a day each day starting at 8am. Not just in front of our unit, but all over. There were 4 or 5 teams doing this. It was just nonstop and extremely unpleasant. Dust was coming into our unit even though the doors and windows were closed. We called on Monday, concerned, to see what could be done or if we could switch units. The construction workers gave us N-95 masks to avoid inhaling the cement dust, but our toddler wasn’t going wear one. The management said nothing could be done, that it wasn’t their responsibility to know the construction schedule, and when my husband pressed them on it they hung up on him. Honestly if I were the owner I’d be ticked at the managers. After the trip when it was time to discuss the compensation/discount, they could say exactly what it would be, and it wasn’t what we were hoping. From what I could tell it was the management company that was making the decisions, not the owner. I assume the owners would have been more flexible. The thing is, when you own property, you deal with things like constant jackhammering because it’s part of living somewhere. But when you’re a renter, paying a sizeable fee for a vacation, you’re paying for a particular experience that has nothing to do with constant jackhammering. We asked the management
