Situated in Malta, this attractive condo for $331 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Take a dip into the lovely Mediterranean sea before breakfast! This is a water's edge, spacious, stylishly furnished apartment commanding magnificent views of the historical Malta Grand Harbour. Accommodation consists of a spacious living room (equipped with TV, DVD, stereo and wireless internet connection) and adjoining dining area. Large doors from the living room and dining area open onto the balcony, offering splendid 180 degree views of the Malta Grand Harbour. The open-plan luxury kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances. Sleeping accommodation consists of a master bedroom (double bed) with bathroom en suite, a second bedroom with 2 single beds and a third bedroom with one single bed. The apartment is child-friendly, with various necessities for a baby such as cot, baby changer and baby chair. A car parking space is included in the rental. Vittoriosa (also known as 'Birgu') forms part of the 'three cities' offering quality restaurants, wine bars, museums and an authentic Maltese environment, all within walking distance of the apartment. Transportation: If you intend to rent a car, a parking space is available in the garage underlying the apartment. Alternatively, buses leave regularly from Vittoriosa to Valletta from where buses leave to all over the island. A very pleasant way of reaching Valletta is by water taxi or by Ferry bus, both within walking distance of the apartment.

Very spacious and bright 3-bedroom apartment overlooking the beautiful waterfront of Il-Karkara. Rising sun streamed in first thing in the morning and such a delight to walk down the corridor to see the wonderful view across the bay. Well appointed apartment, comfortable seating and views over the waterfront area so we could watch the enormous cruise boats coming and going through the harbor entrance into Valletta port. There was lots of other water traffic too, local colorful Maltese rowing boats and local ferry boats.
PROS: huge amount of towels provided which was a big plus as towels did not dry very well with all the humidity. Large amount of crockery, glasses, dishes, cookware and bake ware. Secured covered parking was provided inside the St. Angelo building complex with 24/7 security.
CONS: grocery stores are quite a distance away so you need to plan accordingly if you wish to cook. Lidl stores are located all around the island but not close by unfortunately. We had a car but driving around the tiny, crowded streets was a nightmare. We parked the car and took Uber into Valletta - water taxi to Valletta not working! Entrance to the parking garage very tight - do not hire a large car. Lift stopped working twice while we were there (6 nights) and we had to use the stairs up. Not the quietest place unfortunately as a local cafe/bar between the St. Angelo apartments and the fort blasts away booming music once the sun goes down. Quiet inside the apartment though.

Francis met us out front and led us to the private parking spot in the garage underneath the apartment. He took us up the apartment's private elevator to a fantasic apartment. The view at night and day from the living area is wonderful. Many dining spots right outside. Or take the water taxis, 3 minute walk over to Valletta for 2 euros. Stay here.

A great location, away from noisy streets but walking distance to town and short walk around the bay to catch the ferry to Valletta. A very large house great for families. With a large master and ensuite and two rooms with single beds in. Picture perfect views and perfect spot for a swim out the front for the adults. A must walk us through the streets behind the church they are so beautiful.

We loved the view and locality of the property and the attentiveness of our hosts but were disappointed by the bed linen and soft furnishings - this could be improved by replacement of sheets and towels and some of the beds especially the room with two singles -the apartment in need of a freshen up and update

There are several cafes, restaurants, and gelato bars near by. Be sure to go up the hill to visit a several more restaurants.
Also try the little boats from the arch to Valletta, much more fun than the ferry! And the three harbours boat tour is also very good.

Excellent location with fabulous views. Five minute walk to the 2 euro ferry (5 mins) to Valetta. Many reasonable shops within 10-20 minutes. Spacious with very good air conditioning and very well equipped. I'd be very happy to stay here again, thank you!

This super pleasant apartment has floor to ceiling, wall to wall view of the bay from the living area with balconies that directly overlook. the water. The front door is reached by a pedestrian only stone walkway that is immediately next to the water and very private. There is absolutely no sense of being cooped up or enclosed by surrounding buildings. The listing cannot convey how charming and pleasant this place is! I highly recommend it.
The ferry and buses are within easy walking distance and Birgu is a charming area with good restaurants. Many fewer tourists on this side of the bay and I recommend it over Valletta. Bolt works really well for transportation here and I recommend it. Warning! If you want real coffee in the morning without going out to a cafe, you need to bring a can of coffee, the grocery shops only have instant.

Serenity Overlooking the Sea
We don’t usually book places in this price range but in this case it was absolutely worth it! Birgu is quieter and in my view, more charming and sophisticated than other areas of Malta that are more popular with tourists. Lucia’s home let’s you experience the charms of Birgu first hand. First of all, it provides you with unobstructed views of the sea from two sets of sliding glass doors so you can enjoy it from the main living area or by going outside to the terrace equipped with a small table and two chairs. The kitchen is larger and better equipped than those we’ve seen in our travels in Europe. Lucia provided some milk, luncheon meat, butter and bread to get us started and there was coffee, tea and basic condiments available as well. The bedrooms are light and airy and the bed in the master very comfortable. There is a rain shower head in the master bathroom and a second bathroom gives you a tub/shower as another option. The entire space is tastefully appointed and spotlessly clean. Lucia’s father, Francis, was thoughtful and gracious. What a lovely gentleman! The weather was rainy and windy while we were there so having this beautiful space with amazing views to stay in saved our experience of Malta. At every opportunity we ventured out into the community for walks or to grab a bite to eat. The restaurants in the area are quite good and the streets quiet enough to allow lovely strolls through the quaint and charming neighborhoods. There are many spots that offer lovely views of Malta and buses and ferries (not available to us because of rough seas) you can take to go to other locations such as Valletta (beautiful but busy) or St. Paul’s Bay. Enjoy the fascinating history of Malta and stay at Lucia’s, you will be glad you did!

We were fortunate to coincide with Independence Day, and had a grandstand view of the fireworks in the harbour. A terrific visit. No question we’d like to come back!

Fabulous Apartment and location, amazing hosts
A real review would take me a VERY long time. Suffice to say that in our nearly 20 years of travel with VRBO, Connie’s apartment (with her super sweet dad Francis) ranks in the top 5 or fewer of the complete package of amenities, location, cleanliness, hospitality. Did I mention location? After 10 days exploring Malta’s various options I’d unhesitatingly recommend Birgu as your base for exploring Malta and Connie’s fantastic apartment .
