Nestled in Upper Hominy, this lovely house for $1,021 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Welcome to The Mane House at Canaan Valley where you can enjoy your own private estate, while only being a couple of miles from the City of Asheville. Drive on in past the transplanted 80 year old barn and stocked pond and stay a while. The house is over 5,000 square feet with plenty of room to stretch out. There are 40 acres of hiking trails to explore if you really want to stretch out. We have lots of wildlife such as turkeys, deer, geese, turtles, etc. along with 4 horses, a flock of chickens, ducks, and a donkey named Jezzie. The pond is a wonderful place to relax. There are plenty of fish in there if you want to throw in a line. Walk in the front door and fall in love with the cathedral ceilings and winding staircase. The house is perfect for large groups and has plenty of cozy gathering spaces. There are also plenty of bedrooms to get away from it all. There are 4 upstairs bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a King bed and a private bath. The other three rooms share a centralized bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed. Bedroom 3 has two Queen beds. Bedroom 4 has a full beds and four twins. This is our bunk room/library and is a guest favorite. The bunk room must be accessed through the double queen room. Bedroom 5 is on the main level and has one king bed. Bedroom 6 is the Master on the main level. It boasts tray ceilings and a spa quality bathroom complete with steam shower and Copper Clawfoot tub. The kitchen is nicely appointed with double Thermador Ovens and a 6 burner Thermador range. It is the perfect place to cook up a large family meal and it even has two dishwashers to help clean up the mess. Gather for stories around one of the two wood burning fireplaces. Hit the sunroom for a ping pong match. Catch the game on the 70" Smart TV. Hang out on the back patio under the gazebo. Head over to the outdoor pavilion and fire up the grill. The opportunities are endless. The property is breathtaking. Plan a getaway, plan a family reunion or plan your Wedding in a Mountain Paradise. Along with having two rental houses that sleep up to a total of 24 guests, (check out the Hen House #9127134) Canaan Valley is a full service Venue. We have a huge outdoor ceremony site overlooking our pond and barn. We just completed our 1920’s Speakeasy themed reception area complete with an 8 tap beer and wine bar. These two spaces are connected by a winding boardwalk through the woods that simply has to be seen to be believed. Belle of Wedding Belle’s (weddingbellesnc) is our event director. Please reach out to Belle for event pricing and availability. ALL EVENTS MUST BE PREAPPROVED BY BELLE PRIOR TO BOOKING. Canaan Valley is set up to seamlessly incorporate our rentals into our event space or keep them completely separate, all while being a quick Uber ride from downtown. We are not a management company. We are the owners and Canaan Valley Farms is our home. We live on the property and are always available should we be needed, but we only come when called, your privacy is important to us. Three generations, including former spouse, three children, one daughter in law and four grands - 6-13 , two boys and two girls . Fishing, horseback, around the fire pit a couple evenings, hiking and games on property. Off site, hiking to a waterfall, tubing the river, golf all generations at the Donald Ross designed Muni , , and a exquisite dinner on Terrace at the Grove Park with fabulous views, food and memories enjoyed by all 10 of us. , salt cave and massage experiences and normal sightseeing and shopping.
To borrow from Sir Winston Churchill, " I am very easily pleased with the very best . " Compares favorably to my journey to India as a guest of the Oberoi Group, Asia finest hotel and resort group . I will give up of my memory of view of the Tag from my room in India.

We had a great stay. The property was well equipped for our large family. The kids loved all the outdoor areas to explore. Dan was very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. Definitely reccomend!

We had a party of 11 stay at the Mane House on this beautiful property. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer to make use of all the wonderful amenities. We had great communication with one of the owners and even came to help us on a Saturday night with the tv which was not necessary. This vacation went above our expectation and would recommend to anyone. The only advice is to request Uber’s with plenty of time as the rideshare situation in Asheville is not as plentiful. But this has nothing to do with the house (:

There wasn’t anything that they weren’t able to provide for us such as a baby gate to keep our two toddlers from climbing up the stairs. They were very attentive to all the details. If you are coming with family or all adults, the space is conducive to large groups. The horse experience was a great activity for kids and adults alike and love the fact that all members of the owners’ family are involved in entertaining the guests. I will recommend Canaan Valley to friends and family.

Spacious and Clean
Giving this a 4/5 as my expectations for a property at this price was not meet. It was very clean and spacious - but not luxurious. For example the curtains were very thin shears - that provided very poor light blocking - so I had difficulty sleeping. There was no book that gave all the home details - such as wifi password and so on - I had to enquire about this - and the owners did respond which was great. So house is great for larger groups that want a quite spot near a city.

A Dream!
Beautiful property and wonderful owners! We had a very small intimate wedding on the property and it was A DREAM. We had our ceremony on the newly finished platform by the pond, and our dinner in the sunroom, our reception in the pavilion, and post reception campfire all at the house. Even though we had a Monday wedding, Dan and Courtney (and Ian!) were incredibly attentive when we needed assistance, and privacy/space when we didn't. They even had their son Canaan drive our guests to and from the house to the platform. Our guests comfortably stayed in the Mane House for several days. I would note that the "hideaway room" with the trundle beds is only accessible through the bedroom with two queen beds, but it was not an issue for my group. From the cleanliness to an abundance of firewood, everything was perfect. My only regret was not finding time to soak in that gorgeous copper tub, but I am excited for the upcoming onsite spa! The perfect location for a wedding or getaway!

Highly Recommend!
We loved staying at the farm with our family of 8 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 3 months to 8 yrs. It was the perfect spot to relax with fun activities and spaces for everyone. We spent time fishing in the stocked pond or rocking in the swing on nearby. We loved seeing the ducks, geese, chickens, roosters, horses, donkey, and newly rescued alpacas. Dan took us on a great tour of the farm, and Belle kindly shared the horses with the kids and provided horseback rides.
The house was beautiful and well-stocked from the kitchen to the game room. The dishwashers were broken during our stay, but Dan fixed them as soon as the part arrived and offered us an ice cream gift certificate for the inconvenience. The farm is close to west Asheville and an easy drive to restaurants, hiking, and attractions. Overall, it's a wonderful spot to stay, and we'd highly recommend it!

One of the best VRBO’s we’ve ever stayed in!
I don’t even know where to begin with my review. We’ve just checked out of Canaan’s Valley Farm and I’m so sad to leave. This experience was like no other. We stayed for a full week for a family trip with 8 adults and 7 kids ages 1-7 years old. When you first arrive to the beautiful property you will be greeted by the ducks, horses, donkey, chickens, etc! The house itself was amazing, even better than the pictures! Each room is uniquely decorated and personalized and all are spacious and stocked with essentials you need for your stay. The beds are all super comfy. With our big group we never felt cramped. The kitchen is open and airy and fully equipped with what you need to cook! We spent almost every evening out on the back patio under the gazebo. The highlights of our stay were enhanced by our interactions with Dan, Belle, and Canaan! What an amazing family! Belle took the kids on a farm excursion where the met and fed the animals, rode Dusty the horse, collected fresh eggs from the coop. Canaan bonded with our family and was wonderful. He loves talking about the chickens, fishing, and life on the farm. He took the boys off roading along the trails on property. Dan was a gracious host and was always helpful if we had questions or needed any thing. The house is also very central and easy access to everything around Asheville. There’s really no complaint about this house or experience. So many great memories, laughs, and good times had by all this week! We will definitely return to Canaan Callry Farm!

Absolutely beautiful!
Dan and Courtney's house was just perfect for our family reunion. It was exceptionally clean and very well equipped for meals and family activities. It is extremely spacious and well furnished for young and old. Games were available for our little ones and ping pong for the adults. We all enjoyed the farm atmosphere - visiting the horses, geese (and their babies), donkey, chickens, etc. Their son Canaan was very kind to us and helped us learn so much about the family farm. It was a very warm atmosphere all around. Thank you to the Crouse family for an unforgettable experience. We certainly hope to be back.

Perfect Getaway for a small work retreat!
This home was booked for a small group work retreat and the accommodations couldn't have been more perfect! Home layout was spacious and perfect for accommodating our sleeping needs, group dinners and round table discussions indoors and outdoors. The Mane house was beautifully decorated, luxurious and well stocked for entertainment, cooking, relaxing and learning more about the local area. The best surprise was greeting the farm animals each day! Owners were extremely professional and helpful! Although this experience was to treat a small work group with rest, relaxation and networking, I would imagine a holiday gathering with friends or family would be very memorable! I highly recommend this home and should I ever return to the area, I wouldn't look for alternatives as The Mane House would be my top pick!

Absolutely loved it!!
Everything about our weekend was wonderful! The house and grounds is beautiful and spacious. We enjoyed the farm animals (horses, donkey, chickens) and Alice the dog who came down to visit and hang out! Dan was very hospitable and they do a fantastic job making sure you are taken care of and enjoy your stay. Please reserve this spot for your vacation in Asheville!

We absolutely loved the property.
We had a great time staying in your beautiful home. Even with the weather being a little cold and rainy-the indoor fire warmed us up and the steam shower was Amazing! We cooked in both nights and had a great time. Thank you for responding to any questions we had so promptly and for helping us light the fire too. We are planning on returning next year at the same time.
