We very much enjoyed our short stay at Ranaleigh House. Peter was a wonderful (patient) assistant with all of our needs.
Our dog was very welcomed by other guests and was very comfortable in his large plush room with us.

Requested to book a room for us and our dog, was clear in the booking request the dog was medium size and didn’t like other dogs therefore he would have to be with us all the time. The host accepted our booking, debited our credit card and then sent me a message saying the dog would have to stay outside in the dog cabin which is a fancy was of saying a kennel. When I queried that he called me and when I explained we couldn’t leave it in the kennel the host just laughed and said the dog would be fine. All through our interactions the host just laughed and chuckled but said he wouldn’t cancel the booking and I would have to cancel and lose 50% of the booking cost. Stayz are just as bad and the host lied to them saying that dogs are welcome - as long as they stay in the kennel so they would help. In the end we booked elsewhere where the host was honest and have lodged a fair trading claim against this unscrupulous cheat. So my recommendation is do not stay here under any circumstances even if you don’t have a dog as we shouldn’t help these types of people make money.

This property I feel is a beautiful heritage estate but for the price and not having a bathroom off our bedroom and having to share a bathroom wasn’t ideal and especially when needing to use the bathroom at night time . There was no coffee machine even just a cheap pod machine and for the price of this that should be a given as cheap motels have this item available. We called a taxi to pick us up to enjoy some drinks without driving as this house is in what seems to be an industrial area and really did not seem that close to town . This property has potential but for what we paid in comparison to other places we could have booked we were disappointed. I will mention that the property manager is a lovely man and how we felt wasn’t personal .

On first impressions the exterior of the property looked very tired with the gardens in need of maintenance. Once inside the attention to detail re the restoration of the property was obvious. The house keeper, Marice was a delight and took her position seriously with attention to detail re cleaning and presentation. The quality bed linen and the comfort of beds was great. The rooms were of ample proportions.
We stayed in the Master Suite which had family accommodation for 7. Sharing the well appointed country kitchen was great and meeting other guests made our stay all the more pleasurable.

My partner and I stayed here only one night but it was so much nicer than your typical hotel/motel experience. The charm and beauty of the building cannot be understated, especially with the original stove, period furniture and decorations. The billiard table and room are huge, the pool is clean and just lovely.Easy check-in, easy navigation of the manor with a floor plan, amazing kitchen and common areas but private bathrooms for each room.Would definitely recommend!

The rooms are super comfortable which includes the single bed! I'm snore so my Wife uses the Single bed. All the amenities are kept clean including the grounds and the pool. There was everything available to make a stay so enjoyable so just sit (or lie down) back and enjoy the getaway!

The checkin process was abominable.the room had poor air conditioning and was stiflingly hot during a muggy Dubbo night. To top it off there was no provision for elderly people with limited mobility issues. There was no handrails in the communal bathroom and the shower floor was slippery resulting in my father suffering from a serious fall and having to call an ambulance to hospital. To cap it all off they requested payment for shower screen repairs. Please reconsider staying here if you have an elderly relative with mobility issues or you want to sleep the night in a sauna.I do not recommend staying here.

Gothic historic homestead
If you love gothic or Australian historic homes combined with all upgraded amenities. This is the place. Some many amazing things to look at the intricate details and art pieces.
Meeting new and wonderful people who stayed was fantastic. The pool and doggy cabin were perfect for anyone with a fur baby in summer If you can’t take doggy with you to dinner or the zoo. I felt so assured my doggy was safe and shaded.
I had the best sleep in years
Only issues I would have loved to have stayed longer. That’s on my bucket list now.
I will be back 100% sure if that!!

Travel back in time
We played tennis (bring a racquet or use the aged ones). Watched the sunset and then sat by the fire. The house is a golden gem transporting you into times long gone and very grand. Super space set well well back from the road.

Ideal place to stay when travelling with pets
We have now stayed at Ranelagh a number of times when travelling with our dog. It is the most beautiful house, the rooms are spacious, the share kitchen well stocked. Most important, the dog(s) are welcome. We would highly recommend Ranelagh to anyone travelling through Dubbo with pets.
