Bacchus Escape is a spacious, pet friendly, two storey beach home in Dunsborough, with views of the bay from the upstairs balcony and living area. Property is only 5mins walk to the local swimming beach, and an easy walk along the foreshore to the town centre with cafes, bars, restaurants, and other amenities. House has 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, two separate living areas, an upstairs balcony, and a downstairs deck area. An ideal property for large groups (9 adults) or two families (10 max with children). Heating includes air-conditioning units upstairs and downstairs and a timber fire upstairs. Property provides ideal comfort for summer with air-conditioning units both upstairs and downstairs, a wood fire upstairs for winter (you need to supply your own fire starters and timber). Back garden is accessible from downstairs living area and provides an uncover furnished deck with BBQ and grass area. The garden is fully enclosed, making an ideal location for children and pets. Balcony is accessible from upstairs living/kitchen area and is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view. External stairs provide easy access from the balcony to the garden areas. A gate across the top of balcony stairs secures access to the balcony area. Front yard offers undercover parking for cars and room to park a boat. Convenient proximity to Dunsborough Bay boat ramp. It is a fantastic location to stay while you enjoy the local beach environment or explore the region’s internationally renowned wineries, boutique breweries, and the stunning coastline. The location provides convenient access to walking and bike trails that lead to Castle Rock and Bunker Bay. A total of 4 parking bays are available. Undercover parking is available in the two separate single bay carports. Two more parking bays are available on the driveway area in front of the house. Early check-in / late check-out available on request. Linen fees include bed linen, bath towels, kitchen tea towels, and bed preparation. Please BYO beach towels, personnel toiletries, extra toilet paper, etc. as only a starter pack is provided. Arrivals on a Saturday, Sunday, or public holiday may attract an additional preparation service fee.

Lovely house and amazing 2 week stay. House was clean and very well equiped. Location brilliant and beach and town within walking distance. Had our furr baby with us too
Recommend more lighting in bbq area downstairs and fans in all rooms. A vacuum cleaner would have been nice too

Bacchus was perfect for our girl's trip, loved our stay here. The house is spacious (we all had our own room) and in a good location. The kitchen was well equipped and had plenty of utensils/crockery/glasses so no need to keep washing dishes! Was lovely to sit out on the deck upstairs for an afternoon drink! Would like to suggest mirrors in the bedrooms and also tissues provided and maybe a starter pack of kindling & firewood. We did buy the firewood as suggested but I think this could have been provided given the cost per night. The host, Rosa, responded to my emails very promptly. Would definitely book this place again.

We had a great time walking to the beach and cooking big meals to eat on the veranda while the kids watched cartoons on the comfy couch. Not a ton of frills but truly everything we needed for a family Beach getaway!

The property is in a great location for visiting wineries and other attractions. The property is well maintained and the bedrooms are good. The house is not on the beach, but there are views of the ocean and not too far to walk to.

Great stay for couples or family with teenage children, but not recommended for families with toddlers or older family members due to staircase. There is no handrail for the stairs and no toddler gate at either the top or bottom of the staircase which was a major issue during our stay with two toddlers aged 2 and 3 given the living area is upstairs. Kitchen is very well equipped for people that want to cook up a storm and entertain. Overall good but not for young families.

A wonderful place to enjoy the peace and quiet of Dunsborough. Comfortable beds, beautiful living room and kitchen with everything available. Would definitely stay there again. We had our small dog there as well, and it was safe and secure for her.

As a family of 5, we couldn’t fault this place for location.iIt’s got access to Meelup mountain bike trail and is close enough to town centre as well as all major surf spots

Great stay in Old Dunsborough
Fantastic property for 2 families, with each family able to have a floor each! Lovely secure backyard for the dogs. Everything you will need in the kitchen, almost better stocked than my own house! A really easy process with booking and checking in too. This is such a great location for kids being near the local primary school, mountain bike tracks and great beach and coastal walks.

This is a great property for a family. The property is very spacious, and accommodated 9 adults very easily. The house is very well appointed, with excellent amenities, all very modern and all in great working order. It is a low maintenance home, in a terrific location. Thoroughly recommended.

This house was great for our big family and 2 dogs. Would love to see fans or air con in bottom level as we had a very hot week and the downstairs area was very hot. Also a TV in bottom family area would be great as well but this house is in a great location and Rosa responds very quickly - would recommend staying here.

Breach of T&Cs. Go elsewhere!
Property manager changed our dates 6 months after we had booked and paid the deposit, with out letting us know beforehand. The new dates did not work for us and we had to reduce our booking by one night. This occurred more than a month prior to the cut off for 100% refund for cancellation as stipulated in the terms, however, not only did the owner not refund us for the lost night she increased the rate we were paying on all the other nights (which had been confirmed with deposit 6 months prior) so the final balance owing to her did not change. She did this, of course, at a time when Dunsborough was fully booked so we were faced with the choice of paying up or losing our holiday. Spoke to Stayz who are unfortunately powerless to deal with this kind of abhorrent behaviour.
Beware - some holiday home owners have no scruples and are more than happy to swindle hard working families needing a break. At the time of writing the owner/property manager has not responded to any requests to explain her actions.
A few other notes. The property manager knew, from the previous tenants, that the oven wasn’t working but didn’t bother to inform us.
The supply of toilet paper in the downstairs toilet was actually a roll of kitchen towel.
There was rubbish strewn on the ground at the bottom of the outside stairs.
Non of the recommendations made by previous tenants appear to have been remedied (bedside lamps, hanging spaces etc.)
In conclusion, this owner/property manager has proven herself to be dishonest and greedy. If you have a second option (or even a third) go with that.
Don’t spend your money here.

Perfect getaway
House was super clean, and kitchen was well equipped.
It was easy to walk the doggos down to the beach in the morning and get coffee from the van.

Very comfortable and well appointed. Some rooms had no hanging facility for clothes- portable hanging rack would be brilliant. More toilet paper would be appreciated. Bedside lights would be great for reading and safer negotiating of the bedrooms in the dark.

It was an absolute dream to stay here the owner was so easy to talk to and just a lovely lady in general, the home itself was great everything worked perfectly and our little sausage dogs definitely enjoyed the stay as well especially the stairs 😅🤣 at the end of the day this is an amazing home and central to everything we will definitely be coming back in the near future. A suggestion would be to have the BBQ facilities on the top floor to be close to the kitchen.
