Coco Cottage at Poipu Beach is a classic, sugar plantation-style home located on the sunny south shore of Kauai. Completely rebuilt, it offers beautiful furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, full-size washer and dryer, two air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a king-size bed, two bathrooms, and a huge, breezy lanai - offering island living at its best. Located in the heart of Poipu, Coco Cottage is just a 30-second walk to the ocean at the end of the street where you will find Brennecke's Beach and Poipu Beach Park for some of the best swimming, sunning, snorkeling and surfing on Kauai. Restaurants, delis, coffee shops, surf & beach rental shops, and a tennis club are all within an easy stroll of the cottage. Kauai is a dream destination, with the famous Na Pali Coast on one end of the island and stunning Waimea Canyon on the the other. Coco Cottage is the perfect place to take advantage of all the adventures Kauai has to offer, or to relax and do nothing at all.

This is a wonderful property-exactly as described. Open, airy floor plan with lovely decor and exceptionally well-stocked kitchen. Bedrooms are spacious with great closet space and plenty of hangers. :-) The spacious lanai is a fantastic place to relax, read and listen to the birds. Beach wagon and supplies were such a plus! Joan and Rick were professional, welcoming and so easy to communicate with. We had a question about the stove and got an immediate response with Rick coming over that day to help us. Thank you for a fabulous stay-

This cottage is a perfect 2 bedroom 2 bath place to stay literally a 2 minute walk from Poipu Beach. It’s very nice, clean, well furnished and extremely well outfitted for a perfect stay in Kauai. All the rooms are spacious with nice, comfortable furniture, the kitchen is well stocked and roomy and the back deck and yard are a great way to relax and enjoy the outdoors for morning and evening dining. This place has everything and the owners are super friendly and responsive. We’ll certainly stay here next time we’re back on Kauai.

This place has it all! A block to the water's edge. Add a few more steps and you're at the beach. Giant, comfortable beds. Spacious, well-appointed bathrooms. A kitchen that continuously surprised us with the variety of gadgets at our disposal for the light home cooking we did for several breakfasts and dinners. A huge back lanai overlooking a neatly trimmed lawn and hemmed in on all sides by trees and shrubs, a playground for local birds. Joan and Rick have tricked this house out for a seamless home away from home experience in an epically beautiful neighborhood. The Brick Oven Pizza recommendation in the book was excellent too. Many thanks to our hosts! Would definitely book again.

We stayed at Coco Cottage for a family vacation that included two young kids. Coco Cottage was the perfect place to stay for two weeks because of its prime location and amenities! It was only a 10-minute walk to Po’ipu and stocked with all the things a family with little kids needs—travel crib, plastic plates and cutlery, books, wagon, and beach toys. In addition, the house is absolutely gorgeous and so clean. Rich and Joan are lovely and easy to communicate with. We could not have asked for a better place to make our home for a couple of weeks and can’t wait to go back! Thank you for having us Rich and Joan!

It’s obvious that the owners take very good care of this property. It’s tastefully furnished throughout. The kitchen is well stocked. The large back porch overlooks a lush and well maintained backyard. We felt very welcome and comfortable here. The location is superb. It’s only a very short walk to the beaches, yet it’s tugged away in a peaceful neighborhood.

Coco cottage is among our best rentals ever !!!
Fantastic location, well maintained, welcoming treats, very good beach gears and great host. Our “coup de coeur” is without a doubt the sunset right at the corner of the street. We recommend this property without hesitation. Mahalo to Joan and Rick !!!

We loved our stay at Coco Cottage. It was a dream come true! The comfortable home had everyone we needed and there were so many thoughtful touches. The lanai is so beautiful and we loved having breakfast on the patio with a view of the tropical plants. A very short walk to the beach and some stunning lava flow formations along the water. This place could not be any better!!!

We have stayed in many rental homes on vacation , and this was the absolute best. Home is a very nice and well decorated Hawaiian cottage home. Just a short walk to amazing beaches. Beach supplies provided ! Bedrooms have nice AC. Living room does get warm during day but ok at night. Host is very responsive and one of the friendliest host we have dealt with. Thanks for an amazing stay.

This was our second time staying at Coco Cottage. We love the house! It is perfect for a family of four and close to Poipu and Brennecke beaches. The kitchen is fully equipped so we could make meals easily. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast each morning on the lanai. Beds are extremely comfortable. The house is clean, well maintained, and stays cool with the cross breeze and air conditioning in the bedrooms. We loved are stay and will definitely stay again if we are back in Kauai.

We only stayed the one night sadly, but this is a beautifully appointed beach house, just a short stroll away from Brennecke and Poipu beaches. Very tastefully furnished, with generously sized bedrooms and ensuites, and a fabulous lanai and back lawn for sunset drinks and dinner. Highly recommended.

The house was impeccably clean and welcoming. The kitchen, dining and living rooms were open and bright and inviting. Each of the two bedrooms had a full attached bath. Thus, it was perfect for two couples. The back porch was one of the best parts of the house; we enjoyed sitting there in the morning with our coffee and enjoyed using the space throughout the day. Five minute walk to the beaches and a few minutes more to places to eat, such as Brennecke's Beach Broiler.

The cottage was everything the listing said it was. The cottage was just perfect in every way. We were comfortable and felt at home. We will be returning to Kauai next year and we will definitely be staying at the Coco Cottage!

We were beyond impressed with the attention to details Coco Cottage’s owners take. From a drawer filled with kid cups/dishes, to their well stocked supply closet, they have thought of everything. We appreciated how clean the house was inside and out! The back porch was our favorite spot to hang out with the comfortable furniture and fans. Our time was not long enough! We hope to return soon, as our teenage boys stated, “This house is awesome!”

Coco Cottage was exactly as described and everything we expected. The cottage is clean, thoughtfully furnished, and well maintained. The location is superb; it’s a short walk to fantastic beaches. The highlight of our South Shore vacation was boogie-boarding at Brennecke’s Beach, snorkeling, and seeing the turtles and seals resting on the shore of Poʻipū Beach.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. The yard is beautiful and the location is amazing. The inside of the cottage is very cute and has absolutely everything you need to cook or prepare for a day spent on the beach. Poipu beach was by far my favorite beach on all of Kauai. The property is only a 5 minute walk to the beach park where the sea turtles hang out and there is great snorkeling. I would love to stay again in the future.

Just perfect! Location can’t be beat - less than a minute walk to the ocean yet on a residential street away from passersby. The house is immaculate and perfectly designed/decorated. Beds are super comfortable and linens are crisp and clean and white. Bathrooms and showers are spacious and CLEAN. Kitchen is perfectly stocked and so organized. The lanai is the best I’ve seen - very spacious, lightly breezy, free of any creepy crawlies or cobwebs, and very private (except for a slight view to the house next door). Thank you, Joan and Rick, for sharing your lovely home!! Everything was even better than imagined. Mahalo.

Coco Cottage is an upscale property in Poipu and we highly recommend. Ate dinner every night on the lanai with Hawaiian music playing. Also, it is located next to the best beaches which we throughly enjoyed.

My huband and I stayed here with our 2 girls, ages 15 and 12. It was perfect size and set up. We were only at the house in the evening and ate out this trip, but it was very well equipped for cooking meals. Neat and clean all around. The Lanai in back is great for games and relaxing. Easy walk to beaches, surf shop qnd Brennecks. Owners were a pleasure to work with!

This is our second time at coco cottage and we hope to be back again and again. Everything one could wish for has been anticipated and is present. The house is lovely and the location perfect. It is always hard to go home to the ice and snow of February

We really enjoyed our stay at Joan and Rick’s beautiful place. The house is as advertised - clean, comfortable and well stocked. We especially loved the location. It’s close to all the restaurants and beach that showcases some of the best sunsets and sea turtles.
