We enjoyed our stay at Cape Charles Beach House - 309. It was well kept and a peaceful location. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet and peaceful place to relax at the beach.

We visited Cape Charles in October, when the season was mostly over and it was quiet. So relaxing! This accommodation was in the perfect location...walking distance to the town shops, port and restaurants, and a short drive from state parks, marshes, etc. for bird watching and walking. The unit was nicely furnished, meticulously clean, and quite spacious. The kitchen was equipped well with pots, utensils and dishes, as well as a few staples for cooking. The back deck had a barbecue grill, table and chairs for hanging out, and the front porch had rockers for watching the world go by. Plenty on street parking...all in all a very pleasant stay.

This was a great rental for the week. We were located a few blocks from the beach and one block over from the downtown area. We rented a golf cart to help with getting to the beach with kids and their stuff, but it was just an extra convenience and not required based on this location. The kitchen is well stocked and the yard was well maintained. It was also nice to have conveniences like beach towels and chairs and hand soap! It was a nicely set up house to arrive to. On the other hand, it was a little more awkward than I anticipated to share a duplex with another family. They were lovely, but it is hard to share, say an outdoor shower, or the front porch, with another group. Overall it didn’t end up being too big of a deal on account of them being a nice crew. The other thing was the house was VERY damp, to the point that clothes and towels did not dry inside. I would also warn families with small kids that the stairs are very steep and all of the blinds have long cords on them and can’t be pinned up for safety. We encountered a few bugs, but nothing out of the ordinary for being at the beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Cape Charles.

This is the second time we've stayed at this property, and once again, it was fantastic. The home is very clean, the kitchen is well stocked, and downtown and the beach are both walkable. We highly recommend this house!

We loved everything about this place! The house was clean and well stocked. It's actually better than the pictures! It was so comfortable and everyone around us was so friendly. The owner was responsive when we had questions. Can't wait to come back! We would absolutely stay here again!

The house was lovely and well stocked. We rented both sides as we had a large group. The owner really thought of everything and the location was excellent. I have already reserved again for a girls trip this October.

Would be happy to stay here again on our next trip to Cape Charles. Jack is a great host.

We loved this home and enjoyed a wonderful and very comfortable stay in Cape Charles. This house has been expertly renovated and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to cook a delicious meal. Heading to the beach was easy with the wagon, beach chairs, towels and umbrella. We especially loved the central location and being able to walk everywhere! We spent a lot of time on the front porch, taking in the community. We hope to come back to Cape Charles soon and would love to stay at this property again!

This home is wonderful. It's in the perfect location. Jack thought of everything when he renovated....so many nice little bonuses. The pictures don't do this house justice!

We had a lovely time during our stay in Cape Charles. The centralized location of the home was wonderful. The house was clean and communication with Jack was good. Our only feedback not completely positive is that the walls of the duplex are thin and we could overhear the group next door. We are a family with small children and they were a group of friends having a big celebration, so it wasn't quite a match, but we made it work. Thanks again, Jack!

Excellent property to stay in. We had never rented in Cape Charles before and absolutely loved this charming town. The beach is a short 3 block walk, and it is greatly appreciated the beach chairs and cart provided.

We fell in love with this sweet home. It has everything you could need for an amazing vacation near the beach. We greatly appreciated the wagon, umbrella, beach chairs, and toys - less items we had to stuff in the car! The house was in a great location to enjoy the shops and restaurants but also close to the beach. We can’t wait to visit again!

We were very pleased with our stay! Fantastic location in Cape Charles - in the heart of the historic district and well within walking distance to the beach, dining/shopping, etc. Golf carts are common around town, but we didn't feel it was necessary. I understand the property owner provides a beach wagon to schlep gear, but we didn't even need it. The house itself was cozy and beautiful, a wonderful balance of updated character. It actually "lives" bigger than it shows in the photos. More than ample living, dining, and kitchen for a 2 BR/2.5 BA unit. We'll certainly look to book again fore future visits.

This is not your typical vacation rental! It is like staying in Jack’s actual home. OK, so I don't know what Jack's home is like, but it's like someone's home. The house has been beautifully restored. The décor is lovely, and the style is consistent throughout the house. The house has wonderful large windows and the porch with rockers is truly an additional room that was put to good use during our visit. The kitchen is well-appointed, and the quality of the kitchenware is top notch and plentiful. I know that I usually struggle to find even some of the basics at some rentals. Jack even was thoughtful enough to make sure that there was an oyster shucker! I did not hear a single complaint about the comfort of the beds. In fact, my son said that the sofa bed was the most comfortable one he has ever slept on! There were plenty of bath towels, blankets and comforters. There are also cushy beach towels. The shed contains a wagon, beach chairs, sport-brellas for shade and beach toys. These were put to good use since the beach is only a few blocks away and there is no charge to hang out there. We only used the back deck for grilling, but the deck and backyard are perfect. There is an outdoor shower, too. Great for our batch of sandy kids! We rented both sides of this property for a family get together and my entire family was impressed. It's always a bit dicey when planning for an entire family but staying here made our gathering extra-special. Thanks, Jack!

The Beach house on Randolph Ave. was convenient and comfortable. Our family enjoys cooking and the kitchen had high quality kitchenware. The only thing that was a problem was the grill did not work for us so we cooked our steaks inside on the fourth of July. The kids were fascinated with the firework show at the beach because there were three shows going on at the same time. The outdoor shower was great for getting sand off our feet and not dragging it into the house. I did not receive formal check-in or check-out procedures so I wasn't quite sure what to do with the linens when we left. Overall, this is an excellent home to stay at for a family of four. The owner obviously put a lot of thought into modernizing the house and making it comfortable for guests. I loved the artwork throughout the house. If you plan on having more than four guests I recommend a house with more rooms.

Beautiful duplex in great location in beautiful Cape Charles. So easy to get around town shopping and also close to the town beach. Kitchen was great and easy to work in. Brown Dog Icecream is a must!! Thanks so much for the wonderful relaxing vacation!!!

I can’t say enough good things about this property. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The home is beautifully renovated while still maintaining its original charm. It is a short 3 block walk to the beach and one block from downtown shops and restaurants. From the well stocked kitchen to the comfy beds (linens and towels provided), this home did not disappoint. Add beach chairs, umbrella, beach towels, and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water and our stay was complete. We hope to visit again!

First class accommodations! Top quality finishes throughout with obvious attention to details. The renovations are clearly upper end from top to bottom. Terrific location three blocks from the beach and one block from the shops and restaurants on Mason Avenue. The landlord is top notch and a true pleasure. We could not have asked for a better visit.

Great house! They had just about everything you would need for cooking or going to the beach or the center of town on the next block. We couldn't have asked for anything more from this weekend.

The house is very up to date. Great place for the family and to entertain. A lot of thought and details went into the things needed in the kitchen for food prep and entertaining others. The house is a great blend of cozy and spacious at the same time. Very close to the beach, the park and the other attractions that Historic Cape Charles has to offer. Jack was very responsive in regards to any questions that we had.
