The apartment was thoughtfully and tastefully furnished. It felt very spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was fantastic. Communication throughout was superb with very quick responses. The hosts were very helpful.

The location of the flat was amazing and the flat was really spacious.

There was a damp/drainage smell on entrance to the flat which wasn't very nice, and from the outside it looked scruffy with unwashed windows and tired front door.

Continual music pounding all day and all evening from the apartment next door, very annoying

The who;e experience was brilliant. My children want me to book again for next year!!

Location is great. Plenty right on the doorstep. The flat was bigger than expected.

Bit of a pain parking at the nearby Bourne Car par as I couldn't get the RingGo app to work and machine was not working to pay any other way.

The property was amazing, it was homely, clean, and welcoming. My sister and I were so happy there and felt immediately at home. Couldn't have asked for anything better and would definitely stay again. Also, the location of the property was perfect, right at the heart of Old Town but still quiet, and we felt very safe.

This property is beautiful, spotlessly clean and in a great, quiet location. Such a relaxing place to stay with all the equipment needed for self catering. The communication with the property managers was excellent and we exceptionally well accommodated with our request.

If like me you are 6 foot tall or more, the bed was a bit too small.

Heating was a little uneven throughout the apartment - so some rooms cold whilst others hot

The location is superb for exploring Hastings Old Town. Very spacious (better really for >2 occupants). Tampons/towels available was a really nice touch.

The layout is eccentric, presumably demanded by the location's architecture - not a problem, per se, but lack of en suite bathroom rather than walking through the kitchen to the bathroom during the night feels old fashioned. The internet doesn't reach the bedroom. Being charged a cleaning fee for two days' stay, when the kitchen floor was dirty from the off, felt a bit much.

The shower was powerful and it was nice to have a wash hand basin in the bedroom. The kitchen table and chairs were suitable but not being able to pull the kitchen blind down was a negative as it is a large window and others can see in.

We like to give honest but fair reviews and we hope that our comments are viewed as constructive. It would have been nice to have something at the outer front door to show that it was the Cinque Ports Retreat, although we appreciate that there were other flats in the building. The outside windows are in desperate need of painting/repairing. The information folder was sticky and out of date and needs updating and we don't think that Cafe Maroc exists anymore. The folder would benefit from having instructions on how to use the cooker for one. Also, the folder tells of the architecture of the building, but this needs to have the salient points of the heating and cooker at the front to be seen and easily accessible. There needs to be greater clarification on how to operate the heating and the location of the heating control unit which is situated on the way to the lounge and that you need to move the outer disc of this small unit and not the inner digital face - sorry, but not everyone knows this and we informed the property manager David who did not seem to be particularly interested and even stated 'well, it is very clear' - no it's not and we were paying guests! There was dark staining on the wood by the kitchen sink and the kitchen blind at that time had nothing to pull it down with - the latter was mentioned to David. The bed was reasonable but was not particularly comfortable and would benefit from being replaced by a larger king size bed. We could not find any teaspoons despite searching. We have not written a review sooner as quite frankly we were a bit angry. Also, we could only find two tea towels, both of which had a musty smell and we did not use them and chose to use kitchen roll instead. Lounge sofas were not comfortable. We would have thought that during the lockdowns, the owners/others could have gone through everything and made repairs/improvements where necessary. Thank you, but we shall not be returning.

The apartment was spacious, clean, and warm. The location was very good. The bedroom was warm, cosy and quiet.

The seating in the living room was uncomfortable. Focus on style and design rather than comfort. I had to get on my hands and knees to put anything in the oven

Location was great. The apartment was located in the old town which is very quirky and full of atmosphere. It was also very close to the sea.

The location was great as I love the old town. Quirky shops, great vintage shops, bakery etc etc I could go on & on. The interior of the apartment was really nicely done, great 60’s style furniture in the living room. Loved the sideboard 😍Bed comfortable & kitchen big. Also nice choice in artwork! I’ve already booked a return trip as I loved it so much. My partner couldn’t come due to work commitments so I took a friend instead. The hosts made up a bed in the living room & she was comfortable. I’m an avid photographer so the location was great to venture out & catch the sunrises. Perfect 👌
