Had an extremely comfortable and relaxing stay! The hotel is situated on a hill, providing a peaceful and private atmosphere. The interior of the hotel room was impeccably clean. The owner was incredibly attentive and speaks excellent English, helping me with purchasing Machu Picchu tickets and suggesting local attractions. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to my friends.
No improvement needed.

Carlos was a great host, meeting us at the train station to start our stay in Aguas Calientes. The hotel is in a quiet part of town which was nice and relaxing after a busy day at Machu Picchu. And we had a great breakfast on the rooftop with a nice view of the valley.

Cleanliness was perfect. The host was a really good guide man to Machu Picchu, and also telling us about places to have really good meals in Aguas Calientes. And the breakfast was alright for what we expected.
Nothing to add here

This hotel comes with pros and cons. It has the personalized feel of a bed and breakfast and the owner is fully available to make your experience personal and amazing. He even recommended and accompanied my family to an amazing restaurant on the other side of town. The hotel is modern and the rooms were comfortable. By far the best part of the stay was the view from the roof. You get the best view over the town and the valley that any hotel in the area has to offer. It was worth staying in this hotel just to spend the evening enjoying a bottle of wine on the roof.
The hotel is a 7-minute walk from the train station and requires climbing at least 50 stairs to get to. The hotel itself doesn't have an elevator, and there are a total of 5 floors in the building. Breakfast is served on the roof, and while the view is AMAZING, it is a hike up for those who are not accustomed to the climb. The town is clearly demarcated into a tourist side (west of the river) and a local side (east of the river), and this hotel is part of the local side. While this was a lot of fun for my family, it might not be the experience that everyone is looking for. It is also worth noting that the hotel still feels slightly under construction. As you climb to the roof, there are rooms that have not yet been completed. and the balcony above the roof is still under construction. This was not a problem for us, but it is worth noting for anyone visiting in the future.

It was very comfortable, warm and very clean. It was very new. Carlos, the owner met us at the station which meant it was easy to find the property.
We left early to go to Machu Picchu so we missed breakfast, we were also unable to store our bags in the hotel as Carlos was not going to be there when we got back, it was okay as we stored our bags at Machu Picchu, it just added an extra layer expense.

Cosy place. Carlos was so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean and very comfortable. Highly recommend Picos house.

Carlos was brilliant, he met us at the station and helped us carry our bags to the hostel. He gave us loads of great tips about our trip to Machu Picchu the next day, buying bus tickets etc.
The hostel was clean and lovely, with warm water and comfy beds. There is a beautiful view from the breakfast area and Carlos provided fruit, fresh bread, tea and eggs before our trip up Machu Picchu.
No real coffee!

This is a great place to stay. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the price is reasonable, but the thing that makes it special is the Owner Carlos. He’s the best! He couldn’t be more helpful or nicer. Our son and daughter-in-law got sick and Carlos couldn’t do enough to help them. It made the stay great despite the tough circumstances. Highly recommended!
The only thing people should be aware of is that it's about an 8-minute walk uphill from the train station. But Carlos will meet you there and help with your luggage.

Carlos is very attentive and helpful. He meets you, otherwise you will not find the house.
He knows area well and gave me few useful tips. Hotel newly renovated, very clean, towels and bed linen fresh and crispy white. I stayed ar some 4* with grayish ones. No hot water from sink. Shower is warm enough.
Good lighting, pleasant.
Noise. You will not need an alarm clock as roosters, few of them, are starting at 5.30 AM, going well into 8 AM. It is also safe at night, as stray dogs are barking, sometimes well into MN. You really need a hotel with some breakfast, at least hot water, coffee if you have early tickets to Machu Picchu. It is a hike to the hotel, it is 10 min walking from bus stop, and there ate quite few steps up, plus I had 4 th floor, no elevator there. Am physically fit, hiked Inka trail, to/from Hydroelectrica, but wouldn't hike to a hotel as am pretty exhausted at a day' end.

please let people know that you don’t have a reception. you kindly wrote to us to let you know when we arrive. as we came down from Machu Pichu we could not predict. we stood in front of the Hotel for an Hour being unable to contact anyone. we had to look for another Hotel at night.

Hotel is new, and very very clean! The bed is very comfy and towels are new and clean. Owner is very friendly, nice and helpful! He met us on a train station even when train was late for 20 min.
Also we were able to leave our bags for half a day. View from the dining room is amazing.
The breakfast was too limited, and not as shown on the picture (toast, egg and tea/coffee) is a point to improve.

hospitality and recommendations from Carlos, I really appreciate that.
Carlos need to hire someone to help him with all the task related to hotel; Breakfast, cleanliness etc, was not bad but can be better

Carlos picked us up at the train station and brought us to get tickets for the bus the next morning to Machu Picchu and then walked us to the accommodation. He was super helpful and gave us really good advice to make sure our trip to MP was as easy as possible.

Carlos the owner was incredibly helpful. He met us from the train station and told us everything we needed to know about our trip to Machu Picchu. He got up early to cook us breakfast and looked after our bags whilst we were visiting Machu Picchu itself. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the best that we have slept in during our trip to Peru, and the hotel was warm and safe and had a nice bathroom with good water pressure.
Nothing, the hotel was perfect for what we wanted it for.

Good location. Nice roof terrace. Carlos very nice and trying to help with what he can.
We got a room with no window and there was no shelve near the sink. Such room doesn't show on property photos.
Breakfast less than basic- omelet, tea/coffee and some bread.
Property is up nearly 50 stairs from street level. Not for everybody...

The manager, Carlos, was excellent from start to finish. He have us tips for visiting Machu Picchu as well as things to do in Aguas Calientes. Very modern and clean hotel with a fantastic upper terrace that has incredible views of the town and surrounding mountains. Great view from our room as well. Would definitely stay again if lucky enough to get a second visit to the amazing Machu Picchu!
Make sure you accept the offer from Carlos to be met at the station (or however you arrive). I declined as I am stubborn and was only able to find the hotel as my Spanish was just about good enough to ask some locals for directions. I would have never found it otherwise as there is no signage, entirely my fault though! Would highly recommend this hotel.

Pico House reached out to me the day before check-in to coordinate a pick-up time for when we arrived. Upon arrival, the host was waiting with our name and he helped carry one of our bags and walked us to the ticket booth to get the Machu Picchu bus ticket. Very nice clean rooms and excellent service. He even offered to wake up at 4am with us to walk us to the bus station, but kindly declined since we knew where the train station was.
The location is a bit further from the central part of the town, 5-6 mins walking distance & is up the hill. I would not have found the location of the Inn if the host did not come to pick us up at the train station. If you want an inn that is very affordable, very clean, and excellent service & don't mind walking up the hill and some stairs, this is a good inn to stay at.

Unlike most other hotels in Aguas Calientes, this is a locally owned and run establishment so all the money you pay goes to the locals.
Very comfortable bed.
We could have the breakfast even at 05h45!
Nice smart TV.
It’s at the top of a steep hill so some people might have issues accessing it, especially those with heavy luggage.
Breakfast was quite basic.
One can clearly hear if people are walking on the hotel staircases.

Carlos is a great nice host, knows everything about Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu and his hotel is impeccable. Really value for money and you have the sense you are supporting a local guy who deserves it. Highly recommended.
