Tremendous property, views, great accommodation & 1st rate host. We loved the serenity of Rust Op Twist after our daily excursions around island. Porch was heavenly in mornings and evenings, comfortable bed, high speed internet. We tried to make sure that a day didn't go by without us walking the grounds to Sugar Mill and to beach. Linda's recommendations were spot on - thoroughly enjoyed horseback riding with Cowboy Steve & restaurants (Chicken Shack, Spratnet). Linda's property and lovely cottage were ideal for taking life out of gear. We tended to eat out at lunch and enjoy dinner at cottage and her kitchen provided everything we needed for meal prep. For those who prefer bottled water to cistern, there was a good supply with a terrific dispenser in kitchen when we arrived and with our long stay, we went into town to Plaza East to refill dispenser jugs (very low cost to refill).
For future guests we recommend super short drive to snorkeling at Cane Bay (just around corner) and meals at the Landing & Spratnet. We brought our own snorkeling gear but found there was also some gear at cottage. Point Udall & Cramer's Park and lunch at the Goat, Soup & Whiskey (soups & view divine) on way back are worth the short drive to easternmost point of island and snorkeling trip with Big Beards to Buck Island was great. Before & during trip, Linda was a perfect host to make our 1st (but hopefully not our last) trip to St. Croix amazing. This place IS MAGICAL indeed!

The property was amazing and conveniently located. Linda provided us a list of places to eat and things to do in the area and all of her suggestions were spot on. My family had an amazing time - highly recommended!

This property is absolutely beautiful, from the views to the cottage. We spent most of our time up on the screened porch where we could see and hear the ocean.
The property manager went above and beyond with suggestions and information about what to do, where to eat and what to bring. Linda was always available for questions prior to our arrival and Fitzroy was always around if a need arose.
We hope to return again next year, and stay for more than a week!

There were some quality aspects that were good but description set an expectation that didn’t match the view and beach experience.

This place is wonderful! Perfect location, quiet and beautiful. Owner was amazing, very quick to remedy any small issues, and it is a great home base to escape to after a long day of exploring the island!

We loved staying at "The Magic Place". It was such a respite from our busy lives. Our host was very helpful and thoughtful. Few cars pass on the road and it is very quiet. The screened in patio was a great place to spend our evenings, listening to the waves and enjoying the warm night air. The view over the Caribbean from the mill is spectacular, as is the drive in and out along the edge of the sea.. The caretaker showed us the waterfalls in the rain forest and brought us fresh aloe. I highly recommend this little gem of a place. We look forward to staying here again soon.

Everything about this day was perfect. The location on St. Croix could not be better and the historic home and a state or a stunning. Location is just on the water and is very close to all of their wonderful amenities offered on the north shore of the island.
I cannot recommend it enough!

We stayed in the smaller house on the property and it was perfect for two, you can stay up-to four people. The place was quiet and clean. The owners/caretakers had two dogs that let us know if anyone was around and I am sure they helped keep the place safe. The owners/caretakers were very friendly and even gave us fresh honey on our last day.
There are sugar mill ruins and quarters that they allowed us to explore, it would be an amazing restaurant location or larger gathering area.
The view is wonderful each day, sunrise and sunset. My personal favorite was just sitting and watching the taller grass dancing with the wind.
We heard the cowboy Steve horse riding tours go by almost daily.
Wonderful place to stay on St. Croix!

We really enjoyed the historical nature and great views of the home. The owners are building up the property so expect a few hiccups but they are very friendly and helpful. Martin is the gardener on site who also loves to tell stories and take you on a tour.
Cane Bay has some great restaurants all with relaxed atmospheres.

The views that can seen on the property are worth it alone! Had coffee each morning on the screened in porch and watched the waves, one morning I even made the short walk up to the sugar mill. The kids loved walking to the beach to swim and in the evening we walked the other shoreline to watch the sunset. Communication with Linda and her brother was easy and they gave lots of tips to make our vacation perfect! Will definitely be back!

The house was nice and had everything we needed. Linda is great and will go out of her way to help you. Easy beach access but for a sany beach drive a little down the road to Cane Beach and eat at The Landing.. Really enjoyed staying on this historical property you can feel the history. I hope someday someone writes a book about it. Either history or historical fiction. Thanks Linda!

We enjoyed our week's stay at Linda's place. Given Covid-19, we were looking for something that allowed us to be somewhat removed from other visitors (e.g., not a condo) and it was an extra bonus that the the house was on a large and beautiful property with an interesting history. The house itself is smaller than the pictures suggest and it was a bit of a tight squeeze for a family of 4 but we made it work. We ended up using the pull out sofa bed for one of my kids, which meant that we effectively lost the living room space. The outdoor veranda/porch was nice, if a little grungy the way that outdoor spaces can get. That is where we ended up having our meals with our plates perched on our laps because there is no eat-in kitchen and no outdoor dining table. But it worked for us with no complaints. Because we are a family of vegetarians, eating out for most meals was not an option. We ended up cooking a lot and really appreciated how well-appointed the kitchen was. The house was well stocked with linens and plush towels, and nicely decorated. Linda was a great communicator and shared lots of tips and suggestions for navigating the island and getting the most out of our stay. We had an amazing time and would definitely recommend staying here.

If you are looking for a unique place to stay and not the standard condo rental, this is the place for you. A charming cottage with a very artistic decor. Beautiful views of the ocean from the steps of the old sugar mill base and the laid back vibe of St. Croix's North Shore. Highly recommend.
