For a start Ta. A Village is so much quieter and I imagine what Sapa used to be. Saoa was nice but lit up like Las Vegas. Overrun and mega buildings everywhere. In TVV you actually felt a little out of the way yet still close enough to go to Saoa to see Fansioan if needed.
It seems most of the treks go through this village anyway!
Sue was amazing as an extremely friendly host. Greeting everyone as dear friends and making all the guests feeling included. Family dinner was fun. Lots of chat even though all other guests spoke German or French and we only English. Breakfast was lovely especially out on the patio. Simple with a combination of any of eggs. Noodles, fried rice, pancakes, etc. always fresh fruit.
The superior bungalow was lovely. Beautiful view over the countryside. Definitely worth paying extra rather than just a queen room. Balcony where you could sit out and have a cup of tea/coffee/ beer or whatever and just relax and look.
These were around the common area and were just a room nothing else. Shared bathrooms (2) which had a toilet and shower in the one room. Didn’t see upstairs but perhaps small or dorm rooms?
You could easily just stay and relax here for several days, go for walks amongst the rice paddies, up some very steep hills, do overnight treks.
We did a one day trek. Led by a black Hmong lady who was fun and informative about the area. Walked about 10-12 kms.
In both rooms there were ants on the beds when we went in. Had to get rid of them and used some of my natural insect repellent to keep them away. Also I wish accommodation places (and they all ate guilty of this) would not provide sachets of soap, shampoo etc but bulk pump packs. Instead of trying to rip open those little sachets, it would be better for the environment and more cost effective as you buy in bulk. Soap in the bathrooms in a pump pack should also be provided.

This Homestay is beautiful. We are a Couple from Germany and we needed Nature and Peacefullness. We booked a motorcycle at Sapa. We drove about 30 minutes to the Homestay. The view at the mountains is amazing. The bungalow has a big bed for 2 people, 1 balcony, some chairs and 1 bathroom. And slippers. There is also a hairdryer. the water is clean. There is a kettle to boil water. You can make some tea or coffee. The personal is very polite and sweet. The housekeeper Mr. Đại Nguyễn speaks English. He listend to our needs and they all supported us (for example meal, massage, booking tours, shuttle to Sapa Vice Versa). There are 2 tours you can book. You can explore the culture of the Hmong people. The tour was great. Breakfast is inclusive. If you want, you can have dinner for about ~160k/person. It is worth it. The family makes dinner from fresh vegetables from their garden. They also cook vegan if you tell them.
We would like to see Mr. Đại Nguyễn some day again. Thank you very much for everything. Please also tell your personal thank you. We left some tips in your box. N. & H.

Amazing little homestay in a small settlement outside of Sapa town. Gorgeous building and rooms. Su was an amazing host, we had family dinner and it was brilliant. The included breakfast was great too. Heated blankets for when the nights get cold!

A night in this homestay is not just an overnight stay, it is an experience of a lifetime. Sapa is a unique place offering beauty in many ways. However, as a foreign tourist on your own you just can’t capture the full picture of this area. This is why I absolutely recommend Hmong Sapa Homestay. This homestay is located in the middle of local Hmong people, with a beautiful view over the mountain area and rice fields. Therefore, the location is not just superb for hiking, but also immerses you in the local community which is a must see when visiting Sapa. We booked a Superior Bungalow which had everything you need: a spacious room with a comfortable bed and an amazing balcony. Furthermore, the host and his family are incredibly kind and helpful. For a small fee, you can enjoy even more hospitality: having an extensive and qualitative dinner (including a local wine) in the host’s own dining room with the host himself and other guests. This allowed us to meet other travellers in a cosy way. For us this was an unforgettable experience in every way possible!

The hosts, especially Sue and her brother are the sweetest people. The hospitality, the kindness, the service and the organisation of transfers and tours could not be better. Breakfast and dinner which we had together with the other guests was super good! The rooms were clean and the beds have a heating blanket, although you must keep in mind that the homestay is located in the mountains so it can get really cold in the night.

Great views even though we couldn’t seen much due to fog. Electric blanket provided for colder weather, hot showers provided
A bit of a trek to get to but this is typical for home stays. The night we stayed there was quite a few other guests and we opted to have dinner here, we felt there wasn’t enough food provided for the number of guests

We can’t rate this homestay highly enough. Was welcoming, warm, in among where the Hmong live. We nearly opted for a side of the hill luxury highrise but so glad we didn’t! Su was an awesome host and tended to everyone’s needs so well. No need to go out for dinner as the food was plentiful and tasty. Su and the team created a very homely and warm environment in which to relax and engage with her and other travellers.
We didn’t stay longer!

Secluded location away from Sapa centre which meant we were able to enjoy more of the natural beauty during our hike to the bamboo forest (organised by our host). We valued the home cooked breakfast that varied every day. We chose to eat dinner with the family and other guests. Everyone we met was lovely and the food was delicious. Dinner was 150,000 VND pp per night but was more convenient than going to another restaurant in the town. When our shoes got muddy after a hike, the lovely ladies helped wash them. Next time, we’ll ask to borrow gum boots. We also wish that we had booked the bungalow as the views were very nice.
We booked the king room and found that it could be a bit noisy in the morning and there is a shared bathroom (which was clearly advertised), so next time we would probably book the bungalow instead. A little tricky to get to (10 minute uphill walk from where the taxi drops you off), but the host helped us to bring our suitcases on a motorbike so it’s not too bad.

Close to a small village with great food and local people. Great in-house tour through the bamboo Forrest and surrounding mountains. We ended up extending our stay an extra night because we loved it.
Wifi didn’t reach our bungalow, but that just meant we could enjoy the scenery even more.

The view from the property is truly breathtaking. The family who runs it is very helpful and friendly. They make you feel like a part of the family. If you are looking for a truly village experience among Hmong people, this is the place. It's all what you can imagine, genuine village life, complete with variety tame farm animals roaming freely that you'll come across everywhere in the area. The resident dog called "Zac" and an affectionate cat "Kitty" are so friendly, love interacting with everyone at the main common area house. The village and herbal forest walking tour is highly recommended. You will experience nature at its best.

We loved our stay at this beautiful house. The views were incredible, our bungalow was gorgeous! Lovely hot showers. The host Su was amazing, she went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after, so did all the family. Fantastic food and always a great variety. We would love to go back and stay again.

Waking every morning with that gorgeous view was the highlight of my trip. The family and the sisters are wonderful, friendly and genuine <3 I would have love to stay longer then 16 days but didnt have enough winter clothes for months of living :)
When I was there it was winter and obviously it was super humid all the time, some of my clothes got mold on them after two weeks :D but its the weather’s fault and mine for not keeping the clothes tightly closed in bags.

The family running this homestay is just lovely and so so helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Would recommend joining in for the dinners. The food is great and the atmosphere cozy.
We stayed in the rooms with shared bathroom, which is a really good budget friendly option. But if you have the budget, go for the bungalows. It’s more private, less noisy.
- No hand soap in the bathrooms
- The lighting in the room was very dim
- Could have used a mirror in the room
- It would have been nice to get a fresh towel every day as it couldn’t dry due to the humidity/cold weather

Absolutely beautiful location, accommodation is fantastic, and Su and her family are so lovely.
Couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming.
The area is also very close to some amazing treks and Su organised a local guide to show us the area.

Hat was!!

Loved the hospitality from the folks the most! They were very helpful when we had questions and needed help booking rides, arrange tours, etc.
The view from the bungalows is amazing and we would definitely return. The room was really nice and the bed warmer was the best during the cold evenings.
There's two trekking tour options - the village trek or the medicinal trek. Village trek was quite nice and would recommend! We didn't get a chance to do the medicinal trek but we heard it's good.
The food was also amazing! I think the home dinners were a little expensive (VND150k per person) but honestly worth paying for the convenience and experience.
Overall I think the homestay did a really wonderful job providing a good balance of local experience but also a more lux type of stay.
The homestay is really deep in Ta Van village so after getting off the car, expect a 5-10 minute trek to the homestay. Definitely go with the transport they offer because they'll help with your bags and direction but do keep in mind that it's going to be a little expensive (around VND250-300k depending on your group size).
Won't say that this is a totally negative point of our stay because the distance made the overall homestay experience more authentic. Definitely wish transport getting in and out wasn't so expensive... But a helpful tip: We carpooled with a few other folks at the homestay to save money.

Sue, the host was amazing!! The location, view and breakfast were awesome!!
A bit of small furniture like hangers in the room could be a good add-on, and soap refill in every bathroom.
