This is our first stay in Sandy Hook, although we have stayed several times at this VBRO host’s other home next door. We keep returning to these homes because we like the hospitality they provide their guest. With only the two of us, this house is the perfect size and it is alway clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with anything one would need to prepare meals although all we have “cooked” is coffee. They also supply a nice assortment of teas and coffee supplies. This is a nice place to stay and is in nice central location in town for exploring this beautiful island. Thanks again for a perfect visit.

Clean and close to everything. 2 nice size bedrooms an extra room with Ty and futon sleeping. Nice kitchen and dining with small living room space. Quite neighborhood. Love it. About our 6th time staying here.

Great little house. Close to everything. We love it not being as busy and chaotic as the other beaches. Beds were comfortable. Good location. We loved it. Larger TV's would have been nice but other than that it was great!

We have been staying in the Sandyhook and the Whale House for years. These houses are comfortable and easy to keep up. We ride bicycles or walk anywhere we want to go on the island. We do lots of reading while sitting on the porch. When we leave we are wishing we had more days to stay. We love the calmness of Dauphin Island.

The cottage fit the bill for us. It was clean and offered conveniece to the spring song bird migration in the area. Would have like a little plantings around the house since the yard was not conducive to attract any birds.

We enjoyed our stay and will return. It will not win any decorating awards but it is super clean and has a very home like feel. The house was stocked with extras in the kitchen which were greatly appreciated!

The property was as advertised—it’s a modest house in a modest neighborhood. However the inside is updated and comfortable. And the Mardi Gras parade came right down our street so obviously we were well located. The owners were quick to respond when we needed assistance. The island had just enough engaging places to keep us entertained. The bird sanctuary is fabulous and the aquarium very enjoyable. The bike/ hike trail was the logical route by which to explore the island. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much.

If we could give it 10 stars we would. Location was ideal, we were able to walk a block away for golf cart rental, bakery was almost in the back yard, the island's two gas stations were 1-2 blocks away. If you want a good hamburger or pizza go to the Chevron gas station. The house was clean and very well equipped. Highly recommend and will stay here again upon our return. One of the best things we did the first morning we went to the Little Red Schoolhouse/Welcome Center and got maps, brochures and discount coupons. Connie, Bill and Pat could not have been more helpful!

The stay was nice and as described by listing. Had everything we needed. Only disappointment was the zero response to my text messages to the property mtg. (3 days out then on the day of arrival). Other than that, stay was good!

It was our 15 yr anniversary trip and I found this house. Wasn't to sure at first with its location because we had never been to the island before. But once we arrived it was in a great part of the island. Near gas stations, restaurants and grocery. Close to golf cart rental. With it being located in center of the island is was east to go anywhere on the island on the cart we rented. The home was clean. Beds were very comfortable , we can't wait to come back. Air conditioner worked very good. Definitely some good hot water to wash off the day in the shower.

An older cottage but in decent shape with a comfy King bed. Owners were very nice and responsive. The location is great and within walking distance to most things on the island. It was perfect for my wife and I. Thanks for sharing it with us !

We enjoyed the accommodation. The only hold back and we knew it going in was the one bathroom. We spent time with distant family in there rental on the island during the day and evening hours. We also excursions off the island. We enjoyed the fort, aquarium and beach. Great shellson the south island beach

We enjoyed our stay on the island as well as the home. We were happy to be on the non-resort side; where it was quiet and very relaxing. The host was very helpful and responded quickly to any questions. The home was clean and inviting. The only downfall, the bathroom was small and tight, especially since my boys are broad-shouldered. Other than that, we had a great stay and if we were to come back, would rent from this host again.
