Nestled in Cruz Bay, this lovely condo for $340 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Welcome to 'I Delfini' on beautiful St. John, US Virgin Islands; the perfect choice for the discerning Caribbean traveler, seeking a taste of island living at its finest. Our vacation rental is newly remodeled and stylishly furnished, offering spectacular views of the blue Caribbean, along with sunset performances that are frequently stunning. Conveniently situated just 3 miles from the main town, we are also discretely off the beaten track to provide the perfect, peaceful respite for some R&R, island style. We are fortunate in having a couple of pleasant beaches nearby. Additionally, we are surrounded by green space and just a short jaunt to National Park Service trail heads. The idyllic setting, overlooking Fish Bay and a pristine nature reserve, takes full advantage of the islands natural amenities at their very best. Sleep to chirping Coqui frogs and wake to chattering Bananaquit birds. Don’t forget the breathtaking views from every angle! The large private deck is a great spot for at home BBQ's or a happy hour cocktail after a day on the beach. Other comforts include free WIFI internet, newly renovated teak kitchen, gas grill and on-site parking. The kitchen was upgraded just a few years ago and the bathroom was remodeled in 2014. Owner owned and operated, “I Delfini” will be everything you could hope for; an absolutely delightful (and WARM!) break from reality. You won’t be disappointed.

The Property owner gave great directions on how to get from Cruz bay to the Property. The turn into the driveway is a 2 point turn and the driveway is paved and a straight drive up. The Parking area is shared by the owners 2 vehicles so it's a little tight on space. We managed and I am sure you will be able to do so as well. The owners live upstairs so if you need anything they are close. We have been to the Island many times before so we didn't need to ask much of them.
The apartment is cute and enough room for 2 people. It's cozy but has plenty of room for a couple. The small outside deck has a very nice view. We were hoping to see some sunsets, but from the lower level of this property and the mountain toward town - it kind of blocks the actual sunset. We didn't mind because we were on Island for the warm sunshine and the beaches! The property is fairly close to town - but it does still take 15 minutes driving the roads to get into Cruz Bay. The apartment is not over supplied with stuff, but it has what you need. The table on the patio and the large umbrella provide an extra area to be able to enjoy the view without being too hot. There is a grill that worked great and we grilled a couple times.
If you are looking to be just outside of Cruz Bay and enjoy the peace and quiet this is the place! There is a newer grocery store just past the Westin with better prices than the main grocery store (Starfish Market) in Cruz Bay. We stopped there several times - saves you the trip all the way back into town if you need to pick up items you might need.

Perfect gem above Fish Bay.
During a family reunion we needed extra room and discovered this perfect gem of a space located above Fish Bay. The one bedroom lodging had a beautiful view, was well-appointed, very clean, and overall a lovely space. The owners were very kind and easy to communicate with. I highly recommend it!

The time of our lives

My wife and I spent 9 lovely days here tucked away from the bustle of Cruz Bay but still close enough to easily get to town and all the beaches. The property had wonderful views. We had everything we needed for our romantic getaway. Our host Katha was amazing - very helpful, attentive and accommodating! I Delfini - Wonderful

Amazing Hosts
This was one of the nicest places we have rented on St John. We spent two weeks here. Our hosts made it very comfortable. We had everything we needed ... beach towels, beach chairs, snorkeling gear, cooler, ice packs etc. The kitchen had every appliance and gadget imaginable. We didn't have to purchase water which was a great convenience because they have triple filtered water. There is also a nice deck with umbrella, lounge chairs, etc overlooking beautiful water views.
The most memorable part of our trip was the kindness we received from our truly amazing "hosts". We highly recommend this very special home.

Beautiful Place! Great Hosts! Exceeded our expectations!
Katha and Vezio’s home was everything we could have asked for and more. Very clean, and spacious with all the amenities we needed! The view was UNBELIEVABLE! Katha and Vezio went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our stay, without invading our privacy! I can’t recommend the rental enough. We will definitely be back!

What a great find, a comfortable and relaxing space with extra amenities that made a big difference! The space was perfect for the two of us with a well equipped kitchen and a gorgeous view! No need to buy bottled water as their tap water is extra filtered and they also allowed us to borrow lunch bags and ice packs which made packing luches a breeze. Just far enough from Cruz bay to still be convenient but away from the huddle and bustle. We highly recommend and would not hesitate to return!

Happy Return Visitors!
We recently returned for our 2nd stay at I Delphini and were delighted with the changes/upgrades made to the apartment and deck! The bed was comfortable and with the air conditioning unit to cool the room before bedtime we slept very well! The deck is wonderful for appreciating island breezes, nature and beautiful views of Fish Bay. Katha & Vezio are friendly, knowledgable and shared fun information about things to see and do on the island. Our favorite restaurants were Rhumb Lines and Morgan's Mango. We snorkeled at several locations and we hiked to see the only Baobob Tree on St. John (they are usually found only in Africa). Katha & Vezio also know many of the local artists on the island. We were fortunate to attend an opening at the art gallery in Mongoose Junction and enjoyed visiting with the local people and artists.
We thoroughly enjoyed both of our visits! So if you are looking for a secluded hideaway to relax and enjoy nature yet close enough to many sites, activities and happenings, this is it! We know it won't be long before we visit again!

Quiet. Clean. WONDERFUL!
We enjoyed celebrating our 30th anniversary here. It was everything we expected. New air conditioner in the bedroom made sleeping very comfortable. Wifi made it possible for us to text with our cells. The view was spectacular. We will rent this place again for our next trip to St. John! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Great Stay in Fish Bay!
We truly enjoyed our week at "I Delphini" which is located with great views of Fish Bay. Katha and Vezio are wonderful experienced hosts that shared insight regarding places on the island to visit and explore. The apartment was very private, spotless and nicely furnished. We got used to driving on the left and navigating the steep roads and driveway. On St John do not expect consistent phone service or internet as you are "on island time" and should just enjoy the beaches, rum drinks and surroundings. Beautiful view and great hosts
This place is off the beaten path enough to feel secluded and private but is only a 10 minute drive to town. It had everything we needed and Katha and Vetsi were the perfect hosts. Wish we had booked a longer trip but we will be back!

FANTASTIC!
So much to say about this wonderful, comfortable and well located apartment. It had everything one could need to make their stay exceptional. On a hill, above fish bay we had a beautiful view morning and evening. The large deck allowed for visiting, lounging and cooking on the grill. Katha brought sugar down one day, to put in the bird feeder and this brought hours of enjoyment watching 30 or40 darling yellow birds " bananaquit" feast away...another morning, one of these islands treasures perched on my husbands orange juice glass and was fearless as he enjoyed his early morning breakfast. The bed was quite comfortable and the quality furnishings were well suited to the environment. We would start the air conditioner in the bedroom about an hour before retiring and then shut it off for a restful night. It was warm and humid, but we are in the tropics....so enjoyed the breezes we felt with the sliding doors open and screens closed....and understand this is all part of enjoying our tropical vacation. Hosts were overly protective of our privacy, even calling on the phone before entering our "space". The very best part of our stay was the opportunity to share wine and cheese with Katha and Vezio who were extraordinarily attentive. We enjoyed them so much we invited them to share a day with us on the water, having rented a motorized dingy. We explored the bays and tooking time to hop in at various locations to cool off and enjoy snorkeling and they were great at pointing out information about the sights...can hardly wait to return...what a blast! Ps....we unfortunately had a mishap withour rental car, was clobbered by a hit and run driver....but Vezio worked with my husband to pull out the dent...now, that is going above and beyond!

I Delfini Rental
This unit was a pleasure to stay in. Amenities included a spectacular view, very private, clean open studio apartment space, full kitchen, nice deck and balcony, quick access into Cruz Bay for supplies and really nice hosts.
Parking is a little tight but available for one guest's car. Other than that, I wouldn't change a thing. One night we shared a few drinks with Katha & Vesio which was fun since we learned more about the island and about their history with the house. We will go back to St John for sure and see no reason why we wouldn't book this same unit.

A lovely, secluded pied a terre with beautiful views of Fish Bay.
Katha and Vezio provided a completely private, comfortable, visually stunning accommodation. We were entertained daily watching local birds right from the deck, particularly the boldly curious and completely charming bananaquits and brilliant green carribean hummingbirds. The view is even better than the picture suggests, providing a wide view to the south and allowing glimpses of St. Croix on clear days. Nothing could be more relaxing than watching the play of light on the water in the early evening, and then watching the moon set over the hill on the west side. Katha and Vezio were very warm and accommodating people who were more than happy to help but who also gave us all the privacy we wanted -- in short, they are perfect hosts. If you seek a clean, quiet, attractive place to stay away from tourist crowd, this place is for you.

Lovely, Quiet Location
My friend and I stayed a I Delfini February 21-28, 2017 and it was great. I'm a former resident of the island, so am perhaps more selective than someone who has never been. Katha and Vezio are perfect hosts - there when you need them, but otherwise leave you to your privacy. The view from the deck is just like in the photos - only better, of course. The accomodations are very clean and comfortable with everything you need. Like most places in St. John, the driveway is straight up, so it takes a little skill to get into and out of, but we had no problem. Restful Haven
We very much enjoyed our stay at "I Delfini". It is a charming home sitting about 250 ft. above Fish Bay. Our hosts were charming as well. The apartment is very private and "Oh, what a view".

Great vacation, beautiful view, remote location
If you want a remote location away from Cruz Bay to get away from it while still being close to Cruz Bay and not too far from some great hiking trails and beaches this is your kind of place. The drive up and down is an adventure your first couple of times, but you get used to it. It is a cozy place with a great view from the deck and beautiful gardens, but you won't want to spend your whole vacation staying at your rental. The island is just too beautiful and there are so many great things to see and do. If you are looking for a pool and lots of people then this is not the place for you. If you enjoy a place to get away from the action after a long day, then you are in luck. The hosts are right upstairs if you need them and very friendly without imposing on your privacy. We look forward to doing it again and again.

The bedroom is too hot!!
If you book this place and the weather is cool and the wind blows from the right direction, it’s a pleasant place. However, the “air conditioner” is a very inefficient old unit with only a little air flowing out the top toward the ceiling, not out of the usual vents. The bed is located in an alcove far from the unit.
When my husband and I arrived, we mentioned how hot it was inside of the unit. The owner chose to deny my husband and my complaint. They said that we were obviously “not familiar with the tropics”. I have spent time on Fiji, Belize, and Costa Rica, Mexico, St Thomas and many others. And ironically, when we arrived, it was hotter in our home town, Houston, than it was on the island. Fortunately, we have air conditioning at home.
We complained both the first day and the second and then just gave up. I put foil over some of the windows; that helped during the afternoon when the sunlight streamed in. I am landlord, and my goal is to make sure my tenants are comfortable. These owners expressed no concern. Running ceiling fans does not make the place cooler, and there are limits to the power of evaporation. If you can’t sleep in 80 degrees and a fan on high, I suggest you don’t rent this place. Some nights during the 10 days we rented the place, it was OK because we could open the windows and doors, but it was never comfortable in the afternoon. (You don’t have to worry about locking the doors. We had no key. So leaving the doors open was no big deal.)
I have rented FRBO and Home Away places often in Hawaii, New England, Utah and many other places for over 10 years. I have always given the rental unit 5 stars. This place has expensive furniture and a great view. But for just $200 they could have purchased an energy efficient air conditioner, so their guest would be comfortable- a small expense and it would be energy efficient I expect a strong rebuke to this review from owners who are always right, or so they think..

Paradise for Rent
My wife and I were looking for a view of paradise and ended up with exactly that. Fish bay is beautiful and you can see all of it from the deck covering half of the rental. Katha and Vezio made sure that we were welcome and comfortable the entire week. I know if I go back to St. John, I will check the availability of their place first based on the location, view, cleanliness of the rental, the amenities provided for us to use and knowledge of the island Katha and Vezio have. When my wife and I go on vacation we look for a safe, quiet, clean, accessible place and I Delfini is all of that and more.
This was our fist time to St. John so we wanted to see everything on the island in the time we had. We were gone almost the whole day every day so we could see Coral Bay, Salt Ponds, Cruz Bay, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, Francis Bay, Ruins, etc. A trip to Jost Van Dyke was the perfect way to end the trip so we could see St. John on the way back and name all of the beaches we went to on the north side.
We rented a Jeep Wrangler from Discount Car Rentals, they picked us up from the STT airport, gave us the Jeep, we figured out how to drive on the left side of the road, went to the Red Hook Car Barge then landed in St. John. Get directions ahead of time with actual map. GPS is pretty useless if you use your phone without having AT&T. The roads on St. John are easy to navigate since there's only a handful of them.

Wonderful vacation
We had a great time on St. John, and were very happy with our lodgings. Katha and Vezio were very friendly, but left us alone. Since the place had everything we needed (including their cat who hangs out on the deck), we didn't need to ask them for anything.

Ten days in PARADISE!
We have done some traveling in the States and Europe as well as several cruises, but this vacation has found it's way to the top of our list. As others have stated, Katha and Vezio are great hosts without being intrusive. They leave you alone unless you need something and then they are right there for you.
The suite is perfect for two. Clean beyond all expectations yet very homey. Everything is there including pots and pans. The view is awesome! Sitting half way up the hill overlooking Fish Bay, you can see for miles and miles across the Caribbean. We found the pace quite leisurely on the Island. We went into "town" and hit some of the beach bars and restaurants which are lots of fun. We also spent time on the deck of the apartment just talking and reading.
You really do need a car or Jeep, but do not fear driving on the left. It becomes second nature almost immediately. Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are only minutes away and the sugar sand, warm sun and great snorkeling await you.
We highly recommend renting from Katha and Vezio. They will quickly become your friends in St. John.
It is not a question of whether we rent here again, but when! Soon I hope.
