About this house rental

Located in San Anselmo, this attractive house for $616 per night is a great choice for your next break. Our home is atop a hillside in a residential neighborhood overlooking “Sleepy Hollow” in San Anselmo, Ca. It offers panoramic views from three levels , featuring the San Francisco skyline, Berkeley, Oakland, Richmond Bridge, and San Pablo Bay (please see the view video). Our grandchildren call it " The Sky House". The home is conveniently situated between wine country (NAPA and Sonoma) and San Francisco (23 miles away). Muir Woods, Stinson Beach , and Sausalito are also a short drive away. Surrounded by hundreds of acres of Marin County 'open land', our driveway leads to walking trails with 360 views. The house has 3 levels: upstairs is the Master bedroom suite(king), there is a guest room(queen) and bathroom on the main level, and another large bedroom(king) and bathroom on the lower level with easy access to the hot tub on the lower level deck. The kitchen is newly renovated, and oversees a stunning garden with fruit trees that will be bearing fruit in the summer months. In addition there are two separate office spaces for those working at home. We spent summer of 2022 at this house. The photos of the views do not do the views justice - you can see for miles! The house was spotless and exactly as advertised, and the hosts were warm and very reasonable and easy to get a hold of when needed. Highly recommended.

The views from this very special house are spectacular. There is a panoramic view stretching from San Pablo Bay past Berkeley, the Bay bridge, and the skyline of San Francisco all the way to Mount Tamalpius. The amenities were excellent and the owners most hospitable. The house backs up to miles of open space with some fantastic hiking opportunities. The city of San Anselmo is close by and charming. We hope to be able to go back sometime to this very special place.

We couldn’t have found a more perfect property. Amazing views, chefs kitchen, and great hiking right out the front door. And plenty of work from home office space for two people. The Briggs were perfect hosts and feel like old friends now!

Sensational views! Spacious, beautiful home!
Sensational views! Spacious, beautiful home!
We stayed in Barry and Kaye's lovely home for each of the last two summers - 2015 and 2016. Both times for the full 2-3 months. We couldn't believe our luck when we found the house online, yet it was even better in person. The views are incredible: of San Francisco and all the way around to the north bay. Almost 360 degrees and visible from throughout the house and garden. The house itself is really nice. The master bedroom, closets and bathroom are huge and nicely finished. The kitchen is amazing and a natural place to gravitate to. And the decks are very spacious - we ate out there with friends regularly. There are hiking trails leading off of the driveway, and the cute San Anselmo and eclectic Fairfax are both nearby. On top of all this, Kaye and Barry are wonderful hosts. Flexible, supportive and very friendly. We've stayed in numerous other short-term rentals. This house is right at the top of the list!

Last year My wife and two teenage girls needed a long term vacation home while we looked for a more permanent place here in Marin County, CA. We found Barry and Kay's home at the last minute and stayed for 2 1/2 months while they were on the east coast. I should tell you that we have stayed in many nice places both on VRBO and through travel agents but this home made us feel like we WERE home. From the meticulous cleaning done before we arrived to the big garage where we stored some of our belongings it was perfect. The pictures supplied of the view here are by and large an understatement of what you will experience in this home. High speed internet, lots of tech for the guys and a gourmet kitchen await. I know I'm starting to sound like a 'paid for' ad but jeez... it's true. On more than one occasion I asked the owners if they were interested in selling the house to us and they thoughtfully declined to answer. I don't know what else to say other than I have given the owners permission to connect me directly with anyone that wants a first hand account of our experience. You will not go wrong and by the way, it's a $ deal. Michael
