We had an absolutely perfect experience staying here. The owner is professional, polite, and prompt. The home itself is beautiful and surely has a long history. I stayed here with a group of friends and we all had a positive experience. The location is great and it’s easy to walk places from here.

A charming & authentic New Orleans home with a great host.

We loved the location and the amount of room we had. It worked out perfectly for us. Very convenient and close to most things we wanted to see in the area. And the style and decor made it feel like an authentic New Orleans experience.

We had a great experience in this lovely home. Centrally located. Very comfortable. Had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place if you want to get a real feel for what it’s like to live in New Orleans. We felt like locals, not tourists. The place felt clean and safe. We even weathered a tornado during our stay. We hid out in the downstairs bathroom and felt so safe. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay in NOLA. This house has some great character and was spacious for the 6 of us. Unfortunately hot tub wasn't working, so that was a little disappointing. Nice touch with the baked goods, Prosecco and OJ! Conrad was attentive as an owner. Thank you!

We had a short visit to NOLA to check my son I to Tulane. La Maison Carondelet was perfect! Close to Tulane and downtown (midway between the two). This will be my “go to” place when visiting NOLA in the future. Highly recommend.

My family and I were pleasantly surprised when we first stepped into this timeless retreat. The vintage décor, comfortable beds, and hospitality from our hosts made this a pleasant stay! The quiet neighborhood, a short walk to shops and the bus line made the location ideal. We really enjoyed the delicious pastries our host welcomed us with, and will definitely get the shops name on our next visit!

I’m going to try and stay as positive as I can be, however I will be honest with this review. This house needs attention BADLY. The first thing you notice as soon as you walk in the door is the dampness smell. You can just tell that there is a bad leak somewhere and the whole house smelled this way. The paint is chipping and pealing off of nearly every wall in the house…again moisture. The furniture is outdated and not in the best of shape. If I’m being honest it looks like most everything was bought at a flea market or auction as cheaply as possible. Sorry but that’s the truth. I will say the house was clean. There was no trash or anything like that.
As it typically does in NOLA it rained on the 2nd day we were there and noticed water coming down the wall by the kitchen sink. After further inspection I noticed that the roof was covered in tarps. Really???? I had read other reviews about the property and possible water issues but chose to ignore them. Apparently so has the property owner. This is an issue that has been there for awhile and has not been addressed.
I will say that the property was in a good location for our stay. Close by to the trolley and less than 15 min drive to just about every restaurant you could want.
This is a very neat old house that is in some bad bad need of repairs. I hope the property owner addresses these sooner than later.

Hot tub disaster
Only one request was made to the owner prior to our arrival, that the hot tub be working and set to 96 for our use upon arrival. We were shocked and disappointed to find it only half filled with water, filthy, and with no heat on.
The house was clean and cooled properly, but furnishings were awkward and the house generally had the appearance of being furnished from yard sales. No basic bathroom toiletries like soap and shampoo were provided.

Such a cool old house!
This place was awesome while we were in New Orleans. It’s so cute and old and we loved it! The hosts had a bottle of Prosecco, orange juice and chilled glasses for us in the fridge. They also had some pastries and stuff there for us too.
We had a suburban and 20 foot trailer and there’s street parking galore which was really important for us.
Would stay here again when I go back to NOLA!!!!!

We spent 4 nights at this historic home in the Garden district. It has a lot of old world charm but was also comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well stocked and we were greeted with Prosecco and orange juice - an appreciated touch. Check-in was very easy and Carlton, the owner, very accommodating and helpful. The beds are comfortable, many towels are provided and the A/C works well (except for one bathroom - but there were plenty of fans provided). The location is delightful - close to shops and restaurants on Magazine St. and close to the trolley. I recommend this home to anyone who wants to experience NOLA as a "local".

I cannot say enough about our stay at Fauxburg Livaudais. It met every single one of our expectations and more! This historic home made us feel like we were truly a part of this magical city. The location, just one block away from the St. Charles streetcar got us almost everywhere we needed to go affordably and enjoyably.
The house itself is exactly as advertised. It was pristine, extremely comfortable (great beds!) and just absolutely beautiful. The sections of peeling paint didn't bother us at all; it actually added to the experience of staying in an original Garden District homes.
The beautiful gas lamps, vintage yet comfortable furniture, grand floor to ceiling windows, coupled with the modern comforts of home (modern appliances, temperature control, hot tub - which we used every night) made it the perfect place to decompress after busy days and nights spent in the French Quarter, Garden District, and points beyond.
Conrad was responsive, friendly, and accommodating at every turn. Our last day rental car plans were delayed and he allowed us to leave our luggage at the house past our check out time until our car was ready. His welcome gift of champagne, orange juice, chilled glasses, and local bakery fare were such a special and appreciated touch.
The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant; not as opulent as the heart of the Garden District, but beautiful nonetheless, making this home an incredible value for all it offers.
We're still on cloud nine and dream of coming back to NOLA and staying here. Thank you!

A truly lovely, historic, 150+ year old home. Perfect location for seeing the uptown Mardi Gras parades and driving around to many parts of the city. The kitchen was perfect for having dinks and snacks. And we enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard. Also thank you for the welcome goodies. We hope to return to enjoy again.

Charming old home in an old City. Well appointed and comfortable, very good hosts and nice location. However, it is an old home so don't look too close if some cracked paint bothers you. Like NOLA herself, she is like a grand lady a bit down on her luck.

Just some notes for potential future renters:*There is a small front driveway with a locking gate. Narrow and short, but perfect for our small cargo trailer we had towed behind our vehicle.*The house is the perfect mix of modern conveniences within the beauty of an old house. There is peeling paint and old faucets, but we believe that added to the character and feel of staying in an old home. You will feel like you've stepped back in time. *The house is clean*Bedrooms are a good size*Hardwood flooring is not squeaky, but looks original to the house with lots of character that 150 years of use would bring*There was a propane BBQ and a charcoal briquette BBQ in backyard when we stayed here*Neighbors are nice and quiet*We didn't hear any city noise. It's like staying in a small town in the middle of the city*Wear bug spray if you are outside; especially in the evening or you will be covered in mosquito bites. *If you like icecream, check out the Creole Creamery in the Garden District! Unique flavours made in-house! *City Park is amazing! Massive oak trees, spanish moss, and beautiful houses across the street. You'll be amazed.

A nice combination of history meets 21st Century. Some high end appliances, but ancient showerheads and faucets, peeling paint, lovely tiled kitchen, poor lighting in bedrooms. A funky eclectic Garden District location.

Nice location but the house was a bit in disrepair
Although the hosts were somewhat responsive during our stay, and the house was in a great place near St Charles street, the home itself was in disrepair. The patio furniture was worn, and some of the chairs were broken, the hot tub was not heated and being dripped on from a split old tarp above it, there were holes in areas of the ceiling and some of the walls were cracked, scratched and in need of repair, the furniture was old and tattered, and the electrical connection to the house was loose and not actually affixed to the building. Other than the state of some of the rooms, the hosts provided some nice amenities, champagne and muffins on arrival, that helped to present a good image on arrival.

La Maison Carondelet is perfect for a Nola trip
We had a great time at La Maison Carondelet. It's in a convenient location to reach St. Charles, Magazine St., CBD, and the French Quarter. We would definitely stay here again.

Great House Great Stay
House is well maintained. Baked goods in kitchen upon arrival. The house is well located, one block off St Charles where there is access to street car. Owners were caring about our needs during the stay.

Classic New Orleans
Overall we loved the home and the location was central to the Garden District, Magazine St and access to the streetcar to downtown and the French Quarter. The house was well appointed and fit our family of five perfectly. The only down side was the construction next door, which is only temporary and the house needs a little TLC. Of course, it is an old home and it's truly an experience we don't get on the West coast. It's quite a charming home and accommodates 5-6 people perfectly.
