About this condo rental

Located in Garden District, this lovely condo for $279 per night is a great option for your next break. Enjoy the charm of New Orleans living in an historic Victorian Camelback, built in 1861. Close to everything; walk 3 blocks to world famous Commander's Palace, stroll down oak and mansion lined St. Charles Ave, go antiquing on Magazine St, ride the St. Charles Streetcar down to the French Quarter or up to the Universities and Audubon Park, visit the WWII Museum, and dine at any of the myriad of restaurants that make New Orleans a foodie paradise. This lovingly restored apartment is 3 floors and sleeps up to 4 guests. There is a private entrance with a courtyard and a second floor balcony. The kitchen has all the wares you need to cook a meal, if you ever get tired of dining out. There is one full bath on the second floor and a half bath on the ground floor. There are two bedrooms, one on the second floor and one on the third, and two sitting rooms. There is a comfortable full size sofa bed in the second floor sitting room. High quality linens and towels are provided. There is a washer and dryer on the premises. Street parking is usually easy to find. Off-street parking for one vehicle is available across the street. THINGS TO KNOW: Maximum occupancy is 4 guests (children included). Occupancy is strictly regulated by the City of New Orleans. Our nightly rate reflects a discount for 1 - 2 guests. Check-in is any time after 4 pm and check-out is at 11 am. We live in another unit in the building and can be available to answer questions and give recommendations if you so desire. We are also happy to be invisible and respect your privacy. Some Special Events and stays of 30 days or longer may require a larger refundable Security Deposit and/or additional cleaning fees, to be determined at time of booking. Cancellation Policy: Please be aware that there is a ‘No Cancellation’ policy in effect for Extended Stays (30+ days). All sales and deposits are final for Extended Stays. We strongly encourage guests to purchase Trip Cancellation or the more comprehensive Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) insurance from a reputable provider. As Owners of one vacation rental apartment, we cannot write off lost income from cancellations, as do large property managers or major hotel chains. If you are concerned about the possibility of a last-minute cancellation or early departure for any reason, please insure your trip. We do not issue refunds outside our cancellation policy. Just a note for those with mobility issues: The apt is 3 stories high so there are a lot of stairs. There are 5 stairs at the entrance to the apartment. We have 12 ft ceilings so the flight of stairs to get to the 2nd floor, where the full bath is located, is longer than what is normal in most homes. Lastly, there is a flight of stairs to get to the 3rd floor bedroom. The bathrooms were added to the home well after it was built so they are small, as one would expect in a very old house. It could be uncomfortable for some guests to maneuver. Unfortunately our home is not suitable for people with limited mobility. A signed Rental Agreement is required within 24 hours of booking. A Photo ID is required and must match the name of the Payee. Parties are not permitted.

This property was a very comfortable and safe place to stay in the Garden District. We were in town for a medical conference as well as a little fun. The house was 2 short blocks from the St. Charles Trolley which will take you right to the French Quarter for a reasonable price. It is a pleasant and safe way to get around if you do not rent a car. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. She let us store our luggage when we got into NOLA prior to our check in time as we wanted to start exploring the city without dragging our luggage around. She immediately refunded our deposit after our visit and was kind enough to send an itemized receipt so that me and my 2 travel partners could be reimbursed by our companies. Thanks for a great stay!

Yet again, another memorable New Orleans stay. We found the home to be very comfortable and nicely remodeled, while the character of this 150+ year old home is preserved. The home is very centrally located. It is one block off of the St Charles line, which is a great east/west transportation choice for the visitor, and fare is $1.25/$3 for an all day pass. It is a very scenic line that runs all the way from the outskirts of Loyola (to the west) to Canal Street , which starts the French Quarter. A 6 block walk towards the river puts you in the more vibrant area of Magazine Street. Great shopping, dining, and scenic Garden District walks. The area also contains the most historic cemetaries, which is a quintessential tourist activity. The home is stocked with everything you need. A very nice supply of linens and supplies. The kitchen is well stocked, although we find the massive number of eateries in New Orleans too good to pass up. A point of note: The layers of floors and stairwells add to the charm of these old properties. Since the main bedroom is accessed by the main stairwell, it will prove challenging for people who have difficulty walking or climbing stairs.

Our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 younger kids) stayed here for a few days over Thanksgiving break. We enjoyed our stay and loved the location since it was only 2 blocks away from the St. Charles street car, which we caught daily to visit downtown. The unit itself is in the back of the house (so you would enter through the side gate to access your front door in the back). The place was clean, updated and had everything we needed. The unit does feature two sets of narrow stairs (for the 3 floors) so definitely not recommended for anyone very old (and you would need baby gates for toddlers or crawling babies). The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of blankets for everyone. The decor was also very nice. The kitchen was well-stocked as well although we ate out most of the time. The owner welcomed us warmly and made sure she was available for any questions or concerns. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Available on short notice, great garden district location very close to the st. Charles streetcar. Secure parking, beautiful, charming historic place with all modern amenities and conveniences. One of the owners greeted us and explained the keys and doors and wi-Fi and Corinna gave some of our friends some great tips and discount on a ghost tour. Thanks so much!

Great place to stay
Great place to stay
Having visited New Orleans many times in my life, this was one of my favorite visits. The location of this unit is absolutely perfect. The inside was very comfortable and perfectly suited for our trip (2 couples traveling together). The owners checked in periodically to make sure everything was good and that we didn't need anything. They were quick to respond when I had questions. I would highly recommend this unit and look forward to renting it again when I come back to New Orleans.
