This Privacy Policy is for the website (the “Site”) and describes the personal information we gather, and how we use and protect that information. The Site is owned and operated by VacationRenter LLC.

We do not own or provide bookings for vacation rental properties. If you select a vacation rental using the Site, we will redirect you to the website of third-party that owns or otherwise makes the property available for rent. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of third-party websites. Third-party websites have their own terms and conditions, and you should carefully review those before either agreeing to their terms or using those websites.

By using the Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy and consent to use of your personal information as described. We may amend this Privacy Policy from time-to-time, and any amendment will be effective when it is published on the Site. You are responsible for ensuring that you are aware of and have a copy of the most recent version of this Privacy Policy.

You may provide us with personal data in connection with your use of our services and the Site. In order to receive our newsletter, for example, you may need to provide us with your name and e-mail address. The Site uses cookies and web beacons (discussed in more detail below) that also gather information about you. When you use the Site, as discussed in more detail below, we collect IP addresses, navigation and click-stream data, the time of accessing the website, the vacation properties you viewed, what you searched for, the duration of your visit, and other details of your activity on the Site. The information we collect is provided by you when you use the Site, and also collected automatically while you are using the Site. We will retain your personal data only as long as is necessary for the purposes to which you consent under the Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy, or as is required by applicable law.

We collect your personal data mainly to provide you with the services and to optimize and improve your experience of the Site. By using the Site, you consent to the following uses and disclosure of your information:

  • To provide and improve the services and Site, including by making your personal information available to our partners, affiliates and suppliers;
  • To market our services and those of our affiliates;
  • To ensure that you are not using the Site improperly, and
  • To ensure that you are using the Site in compliance with our Terms and Conditions and applicable laws.

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web sites.

As is true of most Web sites, we gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, to administer the Site, to track users' movements around the Site and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We use a third-party tracking service that uses a small JavaScript string on each web page to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate state of what information is captured, e.g., usage and volume statistics to assist in analyzing our Site traffic trends and patterns.

A cookie is a small amount of data (often including a unique identifier), that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. We may use cookies to control the display of ads, to track usage patterns, to record requests and to personalize information. Our cookies may contain your personal information and such cookies may be shared with our partners and affiliates. We may share aggregate demographic and usage information with our prospective and actual business partners, advertisers and other third parties for any business purpose. If you don't want cookies, most web browsers include an option that allows you to not accept them. However, if you set your browser to refuse cookies, some portions of the Site may not function efficiently.

A web beacon or clear GIF is typically a one-pixel, transparent image (although it can be a visible image as well), located on a web page or in an e-mail or other type of message, which is retrieved from a remote site on the web enabling the verification of an individual's viewing or receipt of a web page or message. A web beacon may enable us to relate your viewing or receipt of a web page or message to other information about you.

We do not support Do Not Track (“DNT”). Do Not Track is a preference you can set in your web browser to inform websites that you do not want to be tracked.

You can enable or disable Do Not Track by visiting the Preferences or Settings page of your web browser.

We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
