Huge true Beachfront condo, gated resort- full resort activities , 2 balconies
About this condo rental
This is a beautiful contemporary large 2 BR beachfront condo in the best location in Playa del Carmen, Playacar Phase 1. Why is this location great? Because it's just South of the ferry dock, gated, SUPER SAFE with 24-7 security on site and in the gated community, quiet with huge clean (very little seaweed or rocks) beaches and is where all the exclusive million dollar homes are located! This unit has two balconies, a newer kitchen, laundry room and beautiful views. I own TWO 2 BR condos in Fisherman's Village. This is the BEST location in Playa....gated community, BEST BEACHES, quiet, no loud jet skis or crazy club music, no rocks, and yet just a 12 minute walk to 5th Ave and the Ferry dock! If the idea of a small (55 units) beachfront resort, a short stroll (12 min) on the beach into town to try a new restaurant and having a private driver greet you at Cancun airport with an icy cold beer waiting for you appeals to you (rather than a large all-inclusive resort with lots of buffet lines) than look no further, you can stop your search! My beachfront condo offers ALL of this and more: 1) 24 hour security in gated community and on the resort grounds with 2-3 times the size of beachfront as other resorts and it's BOUTIQUE, just 55 units total!!! 2) Pool bar/swim up bar and grill (you can also BYO but no glass containers) 3) Free use of kayaks, Hobie Cats, bikes, yoga classes and volleyball, etc. See Lifeguard for arranging these activities. ** Also, please let me know if "bikes" are a huge interest to you as better quality bikes are available nearby. 4) Fitness center & Spa for massage and facials 5) Infinity Pool, children's pool and warm Jacuzzi & hot jacuzzi near Spa 6) WiFi available in condo, throughout the resort & pool and beach- free of charge 7) Thermostat controlled AC & ceiling fans throughout the condo? 8) Fisherman's Village is a QUIET resort in a quiet gated community! Sure you can opt to stay 'downtown' in a newer condo or all inclusive, but don't forget to pack your ears plugs....you'll be hearing loud music, rowdy drunks, and party-goers till the wee hours of the morning. 9) On-site parking free for guests (no rental car? No problem...cabs are only $6-$10 to town) 10) Either A la Carte drinks and meals at 2 restaurants on site or an optional all inclusive plan for 3 meals, snacks and unlimited drinks per day for $98/ pp per day including unlimited alcoholic drinks 11) Our gated community does not allow "vendors" on the beach at all, so you can relax knowing you won't be hassled to buy blankets, massages, jewelry, jet skiing, etc like you will get on the beaches "in town". 11) No other condo complex offers this all of the service and amenities that Sunset Fisherman's does. Hobie cats, bikes, kayaks, cooking demonstrations, etc FREE for guests 12) Air Conditioned restaurant on-site and pool side grill as well Compare all you receive above at Fisherman's Village and the low prices we are now offering.....and book today! BEDDING: King in Master, two queens in the 2nd bedroom and a sectional pullout couch in the living room. Fisherman's Village in the private gated community of Playacar, right next to the town of Playa del Carmen. It's perfect for two couples with a king in master, two queens in the 2nd bedroom and an a sleeper sofa Fisherman's Village is a family-friendly beachfront condominium complex with just 55 units in the quiet coastal community of Playacar just a 12 minute walk to Playa del Carmen. Fisherman's Village is known to be the nicest quality resort/condo complex in the entire Yucatan Peninsula for it's fine service, and resort-like amenities such as a full service restaurant, swim-up pool bar, full sized pool and a children's pool, water sports, jacuzzis for the complex, air conditioned gym, Spa services such as massage and facials. This unit has travertine flooring, slab marble counter-tops, central air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout. Don't just take my word for it, read my past guest reviews below! There is one flight of stairs to get inside the unit but the bellman can help get your luggage and groceries into the unit. One NEW feature of Fisherman's Village is an optional Meal Plan. This is your option which can be decided after you arrive at the complex and used one day, but not the next if you choose. This includes three meals and unlimited drinks including cocktails all day & night! It was $98/pp per day last time I checked. Free for all guest's use at Fisherman's Village are the bicycles, kayaks, beach volleyball, yoga classes, cooking demonstrations, etc. ! It's a fabulous place for adults and kids alike. Playa Del Carmen is located just 50 minutes South of Cancun and offers the same powdery white sand and turquoise waters, great restaurants and shopping-- without crowds of wild Spring Break partiers and towering hotels. Fisherman's Village is just a 12 minute walk along quiet cobblestone roads or the beach to the town of Playa del Carmen. Also within a short walk is the 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, the local aviary, and the ferry that takes you over to Cozumel. Most guests do not rent a car during their stay except days they wish to explore other areas of the Yucatan. If you plan on lounging on the beach, shopping and eating out in Playa del Carmen, maybe taking the ferry to Cozumel one day-- you may not want a car the entire time. We can recommend reliable airport transportation to and from Cancun International to Fisherman's Village. Pamela provided very detailed check in and property info after booking which was super helpful. We used her recommended transport service which included cold beers and waters as well as a stop at Walmart on the way to the condo to stock up. Check in at the front desk was easy and everyone at the resort is very friendly and helpful. The condo was spacious for our family of 5. All of the kitchen and bathroom necessities were there and got restocked with a mid week cleaning. Her property manager Masha was easy to contact and quick to help with anything we needed. The on site dining and bar options were convenient and we did end up buying an all inclusive day pass one day and thought it was worth it for our day of relaxing at the resort. My husband used the free bikes almost everyday. There were lots of free activities throughout the week like beach volleyball, cooking classes, tequila tasting, and sailing. They even gave our kids little party favor bags of candy after we checked out. Renting with Pamela was like having the perks of a small all inclusive resort without the price tag. We had a great time!

We were a family of 4, all adults with two kids in their mid 20’s. We found the Condo perfect for us for our week stay. The view from the main balcony was even better than pictured. One could even open a window in the Master Shower for a breeze and a view of the Ocean while showering, loved this.
The kitchen has plenty of glasses and plates with basic cooking utensils. We did eggs for breakfast several mornings but otherwise nibbled on cheese, meats, crackers, chips, salsa, fruit for snacking. There is French cafe that has baguettes and we did several stops here for the loaves throughout the week
The Resort food was quite ordinary so we did walk to and from Play del Carmen restaurants for dinner, about 20 minute walk each way with about half of the walk within the gorgeous grounds of the greater private resort area. The Resort also had a pool side bar and we did partake here-and-there but also brought our own drinks down occasionally.
The resort in general has an older crowd but our kids did fine similar ages to socialize with.
The beach was clean with very fine white sand. One could swim/walk-out to shifting sand bars that were out in the ocean. The ocean water was a pleasant temperature. Ocean bottom was just sand so snorkeling was a touch less interesting to do. The pool was great, hot tub to cold.
We did have a plumbing/shower issue but this was addressed in short order.
Pamela was easy to communicate with prior and during the trip.

Amazing view and place to rest after beach and walking day in 5th avenue. My wife and Kids love this place. Only recomendation is to prior to arrival ensure contact the owner to confirm who/how get the keys for the department.

Good location and a great place to stay.

Small, lovely resort where everyone knows you after the first 2 days. Fun, varied activities and not too much seaweed. Food at the snack shack is good; dinner so-so but menu changes nightly. Note: Location of the resort is fairly deep into Playacar, so ask about the bikes or be ready to walk a lot into town (totally with it!).

Amazing staff. Excellent food and drinks. Best beach access.

Well maintained property and unit. Everyone friendly and helpful. Food and service on premises was good. Beach outstanding, although influx of seaweed the second week made it less inviting (though we went in anyway). Two couples 75 plus, so a little too far to conveniently walk into town, though taxis made it easy. Only complaint/suggestion was for the complex to have more lounge chairs available. People were putting towels out to reserve chairs at 5:30 in the morning, and if you waited until 8:00 or 9:00, there were none free, so you were left hanging out. There were signs to prohibit this, but practical matter was there was no way to enforce it.

What a stay!! The condo was perfect for the 4 of us and the location could not have been better. Pamela was a great host and was very communicative. Masha, the property manager was also wonderful. We felt extremely welcomed, and extremely comfortable on the property. Our boys loved playing beach volleyball, catching waves with the boogie boards, and found out why a swim up bar in paradise is a wonderful thing (fruity mocktails). From a noise and activity perspective, it was far more relaxed than an typical all-inclusive resort. That was welcomed by my wife and I as we just needed to decompress from life. The boys probably would have liked a little more social activities, but that’s for another trip. They certainly didn’t complain. We walked into downtown Playa every night which was a huge bonus. Cabs are not cheap to go 5 minutes away. 5th ave is great and we ate great food and shopped all over. All in all, we could not have been happier with everything about the trip. It was a wonderful stay provided by an excellent host and her team. She knows what she’s doing and it was very much appreciated.

We were so happy that we stayed here! The location couldn’t have been better! Pamela was a WONDERFUL host! Super responsive, provided us with activity and restaurant suggestions, and gave us many other tips which helped immensely! It was our first time not doing a full all-inclusive type resort and we absolutely loved it! We would love to stay at Fisherman’s again!

Loved the swim-up bar at the pool. Beaches were clean and beautiful. Highly recommend!

It’s all about location! We’ve stayed at 3 other locations in Riviera Maya before but the beaches were unusable due to rocks. Fisherman’s has the best beach ever. Swam in the ocean daily. It’s also close to everything in pic.

We had the best time here. Pam was so great to work with. She had suggestions for us and was so helpful. Her unit was so clean and decorated so nice. Our friends stayed in a different unit on site and they kept coming to our unit because it was so homey to hang out in. We stayed with our 3 teenage children and one of their friends and had plenty of space for everyone and sleeping was great. Everything was there and we didn’t need anything. Staff was friendly and were very accommodating. Will definitely stay again!!

We fell in love with this place: resort is small and feels like you know everyone and big enough so there is enough space to spread out. Beach is sandy and yuo can take long sunset walks.
Pamela is a great host and took care of all our little issues that we had promtly.
Overall would highly recommend this condo and this resort for families.

We enjoyed the 8 day stay in the condo:
Layout was excellent and better than one or two hotel rooms.
Quiet - not disturbed by noise from neighbors or outside.
Location - Right on the beach. Very short walk to beach and/or pool. The location has lounge chairs available both on the beach and around the pool with towels provided. Just as important, it's a 15-20 minute walk thru a private neighborhood to 10th and 5th avenues. And an easier walk on the beach to the ferry terminal and 5th avenue.
All appliances worked fine (note - we didn't use the microwave) and the jug(s) of water is/are supplied by the site.
Nice decks and it's critical to have a safe, which this condo had.
Just as important, the owner was super responsive and informative. 5 stars!
Why did i give 4 stars? Unfortunately, the front desk was hit and miss (with more misses). Check-in was a slow process with a mistaken room to start with.
The front desk insisted there was only one key. I had to go back later and another rep said that was the only key. The next day, a new rep at desk - he reached in a drawer and pulled out 2 more keys. Argh but at least we got them.
Scheduling room cleaning was another mess. I requested 3 cleanings. The 1st was supposed to be on the 3d day but wasn't done. Back to the front desk - the rep scheduled cleaning for next day at 1000 and said someone had to be there (cleaning didn't have a key). I waited in room (while family enjoying the beach/pool) for 45 minutes with no cleaning. I went to the front desk and was told he would follow-up and to check back in 30 minutes. Meanwhile, my wife went to the room and cleaning service was there. I asked - indeed they did have a key and didn't require anyone there. Argh. This was the only time the cleaning service came yet they still wanted to charge me. Luckily, the rep at 0430 was competent and quickly removed the additional charge and checkout was relatively quick.
I know this wasn't the owner's fault but since there were multiple instances, I give the 4 stars but want to be clear - the actual condo was great for my family of 4. We very much enjoyed ourselves.
Note - The site informed us that the all-inclusive option was $100/day/person. We choose instead to visit Wal-Mart and eat in town (El Fogon twice!) and saved a lot of money with better value.
If going to PDC, this condo is a great choice.

This was THE BEST experience staying in Playa del Carmen (Playacar) that I have had... EVER!! Even before we arrived, our Host, Pamela was exceptionally responsive to each and every email we sent. We were on our 30th anniversary trip and truly enjoyed her beautiful suite, located literally STEPS from the beautiful Western Carribean Beach. The view from our suite was incredible, EVERY SINGLE MORNING!! It was waking up in paradise! This was my second time staying at the wonderful Sunset Fisherman's Village and by far the best one! The staff is so genuinely friendly, the drinks are ice cold and delicious, the omelets at breakfast superb, and dinner yummy! We did not do the all-inclusive plan but ate out about half the time on Fifth Avenue (so so delicious, thanks to the awesome recommendations of our Host Pamela), drank and at as much as we wanted at Fisherman's Village and for 10 days, my husband and I rang up a whopping bill of $382!!! We literally could not believe it! Granted, we don't eat a lot, but seriously! So all in all, Pamela's suite was super clean, well decorated, provided a gorgeous view 24/7, we had constant internet access (as if we really used it), the staff at the small resort goes way out of their way to make you feel like family from the minute you arrive, so what are you waiting for??? Book her suite, forget about Hawaii and enjoy the wonderful people of Mexico, the gorgeous weather and beaches and just go for it, you will NOT regret it! Thanks Pamela and see you soon my friend!

Perfect beach location!
Awesome week stay at Fishermen's condo in Playacar. Perfect location, just steps to one of the best beaches in Playa Del Carmen and no seaweed. Plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas.
Beautiful pool area right by beach was great for drinks and lunch or for a quick dip. The resort was big enough for all needed amenities yet a small one as to not be overcrowded. The staff was amazing and kept the place very clean. Daily activities were offered to entertain guests and would highly recommend the kayaking. Oto was great!
We stayed in a 2 BR condo with a great view and lots of room, especially for 2 people. It would be plenty of room and privacy for 2 couples plus kids.
We felt very safe in this gated community and walked to town many times, 10 min. walk. We also took advantage of taxi rides back that were reasonable.
Met lots of friendly guests that have been coming here for years. A couple recommended the best restaurant, La Pesca Del Norte, and the grilled whole red snapper was outstanding.
Reservations were easy and didn't need to contact Pamela, but she offered her phone number if we needed anything.
We will definitely be coming back and recommending her wonderful condo. It was perfect!

Wonderful Sun Sand and Surf
My family had a fantastic relaxing beach vacation. The condo was great and as advertised. Pamela was quick to respond to our needs and questions . She coordinated quickly with the front desk to solve any difficulties we encountered. The staff were great around the beach, bar, and pool area where we spent all of our time. We will definitely return.

Exactly as advertised
Although not sparkling new, this condo and resort are excellent. Located steps from a beautiful beach, this resort could not be more convenient. No fighting for beach chairs during Christmas week, lovely, attentive staff, and some fun activities, including daily beach volleyball. Easy walk into Playa del Carmen for dinner. A rental car is not required.

Outstanding Condo in superb location!
Our party of 5 Minnesotan's spent an outstanding 8 days in Pamela Bergeson's condo (rm 221) at the Sunset Fisherman's Village Resort in Playacar 1. The only downer was the clothes washer didn't work, and it did not get fixed during our stay at the condo nor was there any type of discount that was credited to us (even after directly asking the owner). We 5 ended up having to do laundry in the bath tubs and sinks or we could have paid for an outside laundry service. Since the VRBO AD indicated there was a working washer and dryer in the unit, we were disappointed that this was not the case.
Other than this, the condo was mostly excellent! Great views off the living room and master bedroom to the ocean, a very clean and well appointed kitchen (there were only 4 forks, knives and tall glasses but plenty of bowls, plates, and other cookware).
The Master suite had a comfortable king sized bed, private balcony, bi-directional ocean views, an armoire with a large TV and a good assortment of DVD's to watch (no cable and only 1 local channel - two on some occasions) and a superb en suite double sink get ready area and another room with a full bath and separate sing. The shower even had a small south facing window overlooking the ocean for both ventilation and aesthetics ! Very nice!
The 2nd bedroom had 2 great queen beds and an en suite bath, well appointed with newer fixtures and tiling. It's windows overlooked the parking and street areas to the west of the resort.
The living room was comfortable for all of us, with a dining table for 4 persons, a pull out couch for lounging after a day at the pool or beach, and another armoire with a television, DVD player and a stack of DVD movies.
Each bedroom and the living area had air conditioning unit plus ceiling fans to keep everyone cool, and these worked perfectly.
The kitchen was "cozy-tight" and had a stove, oven, refrigerator and cupboard space as well as a breakfast bar between the kitchen and dining/living area. Perhaps the best feature of the condo is the balcony off this living area, where Pamela has a patio table and 4 chairs for lounging and afternoon cocktails should that be your desire. The views were spectacular and the peaceful sound of the waves, wind in the palm trees made this a top spot amongst our group. Pamela and her concierge Diego were helpful. Pools, hot tub and beach were top notch. We would surely return but make sure the condo delivers what it says it will.

Pamela's condo was perfect for our needs! Steps to a beautiful pool, hot tub and beach! Amazing week at Fishermen’s Village
Fishermen’s village
We just got back from a fabulous week in Pamela’s condo at Fishermen’s Village.
The condo: The condo was perfect for our family of 5. Some reviews said the complex was outdated but you wouldn’t know it when you entered our second story unit. It was spacious, nicely furnished and lovely. The beds were so comfy and we all slept well. That can make or break a holiday. Air conditioning was a bonus! The view was spectacular from the living area and from the master bedroom.
The resort: The grounds were kept clean and the pool area was so nice with lots of room for the guests. We didn’t do the all inclusive package and we were happy about that decision because there’s so many amazing places to eat in playa. The staff is great. We all loved the small resort feel and we also had the fun things of a big resort. My kids 18 and 14 loved the daily volleyball.
The beach: The view was amazing and the water so blue and clear. The seaweed was bad at times. But apparently that is a rare occurrence.
The town and activities: Pamela leaves a detailed list of activities and restaurants. It’s perfect. After reading the recommendations, we picked a few places. Anything that we tried we loved. El Fogon, Mi Pueblo and Piola (long walk but helped walk off the food). We didn’t take a taxi all week. Everything is close enough but also far away enough for peace and quiet.
Overall, best family vacation we have had.
Thanks to the staff and to Pamela for making our week special.

Unit 221 May 2018
We had a great week as usual at Fisherman Village!! The unit was perfect for our family of 5. Thanks Pamela! The only negative was that the hot tub was not working the whole week but that is no reflection on the unit. That is an ongoing maintenance issue at the condo. The pools were clean and very well kept! I enjoyed 2 massages during the week. Very relaxing stay😊😊😊

Great vacation condo
Lovely clean unit, recently remodeled, worked well for my family as I was staying elsewhere. Plumbing slow in master bath but other than that could find no fault. Not sure if they actually cooked anything though. Concierge Diego was a real treat, meeting us on arrival, arranging a private tour with Spicy Diego, and ultimately on call for whatever we needed. Hotel manager Juan Soler was kind and helpful. Job well done, Pam.

Great time over the holidays
Our family decided to go to Playa for the holidays. We found this great property that had a great beach, close to town and great staff. I would recommend using Pamela’s contact for transportation to and from the airport. It was stress free when arriving and there was no wait for our ride. Arturo was there waiting for us and we were on our way quickly. Small resort like property which made it easy to navigate and let the kids roam free.

Wonderful!
We stayed in Pamela's unit in early October. Our visit was with 2 children and 3 adults, and Pamela's unit was incredibly spacious. The view was spectacular! We loved the pool overlooking the ocean and everything we needed was easily accessible. All of the staff was very accommodating! If we had any issues the staff was there to immediately address. We personally loved the location as it was close enough to town that we could get there quickly, but far enough away that we felt very secluded from everyone else. I would definitely recommend this unit to others and hope to be back one day! Thank you Pamela!

Peaceful location and Quiet Beach- Good for Families or People Seeking a Smaller Space
I have not been to Playa del Carmen in years and decided to go on vacation with a friend. We spent a great deal of time looking on properties and selected Pamela's at Fisherman's Wharf. She has a two bedroom condo on a second floor and one on the 3rd floor but that was booked. The only difference is a slightly elevated view. It has a great location. was a good choice.
The condo is within walking distance to 10th and 5th avenue. Avenue 5 is where most of the nightlife is restaurants and , clubs, shopping day and night. The avenue runs about 40 blocks. You can easily walk through the complex to the beginning of 5th Avenue (near the Old Navy) but we were lazy and took a cab due to the humidity. There are large hotels or complexes that are newer, however, this condominium gives you a quiet beach and you don't really near a car if staying in the Playa del Carmen area you can walk or easily get a cab.
The condominium is as represented in the pictures, however, the pictures don't give you much insight into the feeling of the location. It is a small complex but has services you would want. It is part of a larger complex known as Playacar. You enter the complex driving past Playacar Hotel, primary residences and second homes and some small ruins (which are lit at night). It is a pleasant walk day or night and you feel as if you are living in a neighborhood and not a resort or hotel complex.
The main entry to the property has a concierge, however, the front desk people are wonderful if you have questions. There is a small lobby bar, good for a drink while waiting for cab. There are two restaurants on the premises. The food is average but not over priced. The grill by the beach is fine for fast snacks and to get out of the sun and there were servers walking around the beach. The staff is overall very kind and helpful.
We were there in July and not the winter season, so I cannot speak to how the beach would feel in a high season. It was easy to get a chair and an umbrella by the pool or the beach. The beach is small but quiet. There were really no vendors to bother you. A couple of nights during the week there are sales of items made by the staff or their families. During the day by the pool, a hotel worker sells some ceramics and jewelry and has painting classes for adults and children and ready made ceramics. There are almost hourly activities from cooking to cocktails to yoga to volley ball. In short, there are activities for all.

Beautiful condo in the perfect location in Playa Del Carmen
We loved the week we spent in Pamela's condo. It was the perfect size for us and our two adult children and having the washer/dryer was an added bonus! We have nothing but positive things to say about our stay. The staff at Fisherman's Village was top notch, the uncrowded beach was amazing and the food recommendations Pamela provided were spot on! Thank you Pamela for sharing your slice of paradise with our family!!
