Great location! Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Owner was great to work with. She was quick to respond to any questions.

The advantages: We loved the location in "Old Colorado Springs". Walking distance to ice cream & restaurants was perfect. I felt comfortable letting my older teens walk to shop, get ice cream or eat. There is a popular, very nice breakfast place one house over. Felt safe at all times. Street parking was ALWAYS available (that was my only worry when booking that there wasn't a driveway or garage and it was never a problem). Literally parked in front of front door all week. The property was immaculate. Everything is brand new. Granite countertops. New showers/cabinets. New washer/dryer. Extremely clean upon arrival. We loved that every bedroom had their own shower/bathroom which meant no taking turns/lining up for showers. The balconies were nice too. Room 1 looks over the main street and is a bit bigger than the other balconies. Room 2 is on the side and 3 looks at mountains. We loved that everyone had a key to the front door and to their own room and could come & go independently, nice for older teens. Clara was quick to respond to every question and was very accommodating. There was a grocery store a mile away. Was just 10 min from Garden of the Gods and close to most of the major sites. The main street was not overly noisy and seemed like everything shut down by 10-11pm. Location was awesome. The only thing missing was a place to sit and eat and/or central hanging out area. The hallway shared by the 3 rooms has the main kitchenette but no table or eating area. If you want to sit and eat you can sit on your own balcony. If you want to gather to eat, hang out or play cards you could probably fit 6 balcony chairs on room #1's balcony. (Not sure if Clara would allow so better to check). We didn't have a problem w it because we ate lunch/dinner out a lot. Just breakfast/snacks at the property. Also, FYI kitchen-wise buy/bring what you need. There are no "basics" like salt/pepper, coffee creamer or anything. Overall great rental. Would return for sure.

Clean, comfy, spacious, quiet rental within easy walking distance to good food, shopping and entertainment but far enough away that it was quiet for sleeping and peaceful for morning breakfasts on the patio. Easy access to freeways and local sightseeing and tours. Communication with property manager was easy and response time was always prompt. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Three separate sleeping areas, each with its own full bathroom. Great area just down the street from the old town and 2 doors from the best breakfast in town. Very friendly owner. Stayed here with 3 generations and all were happy.

First off, let me say that my husband made the decision to stay here solely because it had three bathrooms and a separate bedroom for our kids. From that standpoint alone, the place was great. I had my own bathroom, my husband had his own, and my daughters shared one. This meant we could all get ready for the day pretty quickly. The one thing I will say about the bathrooms are that none of them had enough lighting. On day one when I was blow drying my hair, the electricity went out in the bathroom I was using and the adjacent living room. My husband contacted the owner via text and the power was quickly restored. However, I was a bit leery about using the hair dryer in that bathroom for the rest of our stay because I didn't want to blow the fuse again.
As it was hot in Colorado at the time of our visit, we had the window air conditioners running constantly. The second bedroom took a while to cool off, but by the time the kids went to bed the temperature was tolerable. The air conditioner in the master bedroom was great the first night, but on the second night it starting making some noises that kept my husband and myself up all night. It was a constant dripping sound and I truly thought I was going to wake up to a huge puddle on the floor, but that didn't happen. Just an annoyance.
When the owner showed us around the place, she mentioned to me that she had just fired her housekeeper. She also mentioned that I shouldn't worry about making the beds because I was on vacation. I took that to mean that someone was going to come in and clean up a bit and make the beds. However, no one did any of that while we stayed there. Our trash was never taken out, so on the last day we had some boxes and bottles piled up near the trash can. I don't know why we had to pay a cleaning fee when nobody cleaned a thing. If I had known this up front, I would have taken out the trash and made our beds - not a problem, but paying the cleaning fee really irked me.
Also, there is a "kitchen" of sorts. It was nice to be able to have two mini refrigerators to keep things cold. We brought cereal and milk so the we could have breakfast at the house. I cleaned up all of our bowls, utensils, etc. after realizing that no one was going to come in and clean anything. There is no table to eat on, so we ate our breakfast at the coffee table in the living room. I will say that the water provided was a blessing since we were extremely dehydrated.

Nice quaint little upper level 2 bedroom aprtment style living. Close to shopping and a multitude of outdoor adventure. Pleasant and accomodating home owner. Would definitely recommend this rental for others.

We own two vacation rental properties of our own. We do our level best to accurately describe our property and we appreciate accurate feedback from our guests so we can make improvements to our properties and the descriptions on our listings. While the house had the fun and funky we were looking for, it was a little smaller than we expected. Not truly 3 bedrooms, there were only 5 of us but converting a couch in the "Living Room" (not a bedroom) is a pain to do every day. Seating for the five of us was non existent and there is a little folding table and chairs if you actually want to eat in. This is the UPSTAIRS ONLY of the house plan. The "Kitchen" is a converted hallway and also very small so don't plan on cooking much more than grilled cheese sandwiches. It was clean and the host was nice but we wouldn't consider a return trip. Best for very small groups or close friends.

My family and I stayed and very much enjoyed not only the property but also the surroundings and lastly but not least the owner. I highly recommend this quaint and quite lovely spot.

This was a great house to stay in and well worth the price. The street parking wasn't ideal but having 3 separate rooms that locked and had their own bathrooms was great. It's also super close to an old area of town with shopping and restaurants which was very convenient. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Being a first time renter on VRBO we were not sure what to expect. This was a really good experience for all involved. Our family was with us for a reunion. This is a cozy upper level home. Everyone had their own space and privacy. We like that each bedroom had it's own bath. Our host were wonderful and accommodating. The view from the 3rd bedroom is of Pike Peak. We were able to sit outside on the little balcony in the morning and evening. I would recommend for Families of all ages. Sites and Activities are so close. Adults are within walking distance to other activities and some good food. Truly enjoyed being here. Thank you sooo much Clara and Luke. You are a wealth of knowledge. The Tea and Water with Vitamin C really saved us all. Kids loved your shop too! Everyone says Hey from Texas!

What a great place to stay, plenty of room for 2 families with 2 teenagers. we had a great time. Sat out on the front porch every morning and evening. Oganica is close to shopping and some great restaurant's. Just 3 doors down is a little café that has great breakfast. A block away is a great BBQ place.
We enjoyed our conversations with the owners also, they are great people.

Our family's stay at Clara's place was a perfect location for all we wanted to see & do in Colorado Springs. The Garden of the Gods, the Cog Railway, the AFA & the Broadmoor Hotel were conveniently located nearby.
One unexpected highlight of our stay was a fresh farmers market that set up at a park located right across the street from us on Saturday morning. We sampled fresh fruits, veggies, juices & banana bread!
Restaurants & Shopping in Old Colorado City are within walking distance.
A grocery store is close by too.(On a couple of mornings we decided to cook breakfast in)
Thanks, Clara for helping us get acquainted with the area & making our stay an enjoyable one!

We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend and found the house very comfortable. We were walking distance to several eating and shopping establishments. We spent several hours just sitting on the front porch talking and watching the people go by. Very easy to get to and the parking on the street was fine. All of our needs were taken care of and the house was equipped just right (towels, dishes, etc.).

My husband and I enjoyed our family reunion in Colorado Springs in April. We plan another visit and stay this vacation rental next spring. The owner is welcoming, and the rooms incredibly clean, and the pictures online were exactly what we got. We were greeted with a bottle of red wine, sparkling juice for the kids, water bottles for all of our party, and fresh flowers. We arrived late, so the provided coffee in the morning was also so appreciated. Thanks again for the lively conversations on the front patio deck and all the information for taking advantage of the local events. We can highly recommend this rental.

Although the location and rooms were nice that was all of it's positives for us. This house should have been advertised as what it is, a hostel. It advertises that it sleeps six which it does, however, there is NO common space for anyone to just relax in. Worst of all was having to small talk with the owner every time you came or went because they live downstairs! Early each morning you were awoken by the creaking front door of the owner going in and out and every night you were awake with them talking on the front porch!
This was my first VRBO and I am nervous to try again as I thought I was renting a nice house for my family to relax and catch up in, not spend our time with awkward moments small talking with the owner more than each other.

We rented this property for our Summer Family getaway. I couldn't have been more thrilled. The owner was very friendly and checked with us daily to make sure everything was going well. The house is upstairs and is clean and very homey, the master bedroom has a balcony which faces the mountains so you can sit and relax at the end of a long day exploring.
The location itself is within walking distance of Old Colorado City Downtown and several public parks. It is also within 15-30 minutes of the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, Manitou Springs, Santa's Workshop, and an hour from Cripple Creek and the mining museums. The Royal Gorge and rafting trips are also within an hour drive. Overall we were very pleased.
