Nestled in Kodiak, this lovely condo for $258 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Owners Mike and Gina Friccero welcome you to the Awesome View Vacation Rentals experience. Featuring the work of local artist Alvin Amason, this is the perfect accommodation for the traveling executive, romantic couple or family. This efficiency has private parking/entry, with Ocean Views that are unbeatable. Upstairs Captains Quarters has separate Shower and private Loo, Enjoy ocean front views from your own private deck. Walking distance from town, museums shopping and restaurants. Good viewing for birds, sea lions and the occasional Killer Whale Pod. Lovely sunrises over the ocean, but remember this is the land of the midnight sun! Bring a sleep mask if overly light sensitive. Recommended to bring warm clothes even in summer. Lightweight rain gear is a good thing to include in your pack. Children are welcome. Our home is on a park strip that offers plenty of room for kids to run and play. Within walking distance of public pool, High School and the bridge to Near Island. Please note: We are no longer a B&B and do not provide food service. We no longer have Cable TV but room has wifi and streaming device. We don't feel this space is large enough for three adults, unless it's a family with a young or adult child. This room is absolutely gorgeous with an even more gorgeous view. I stayed with my husband and it was perfect for the two of us. It’s not a large room but for just two people and a place to lay your head at night it’s perfect. It was very clean, came stocked with coffee, basic kitchen utensils, mini fridge and microwave. This was my first trip to Kodiak Island and staying here set the bar high. I highly recommend.

Captain's Quarters is a lovely studio room with just wonderful views over the water. It is just big enough for 2 adults,but no more. It worked perfect for our 7 night stay. It is within walking distance to everything to do downtown and if you don't mind a longer walk,you can even get to Safeway and Walmart. It's an easy 7 minute drive to Abercrombie State Park and other nearby trails, and also close to Near Island, which you can see from the deck. We really enjoyed our stay!

Having coffee on the deck overlooking the bay was a highlight every morning and drinks in the evening. Place was very clean and hosts were very responsive. Highly recommend to anyone coming to Kodiak.

This reasonably priced unit was located in a lovely spot that allowed us to experience the Kodiak community. It provided the basics while everything else was easily accessible with a walk or short car ride. We rented a vehicle through Ace / Kodiak Car Rentals which we used to drive all over the island. We had a beautifully delicate fresh Tanner crab dinner with calamari & chowder for dinner @ Kodiak Inn / the Best Western restaurant. We enjoyed local food and beverages at Kodiak Island Brewing Co, Java Flats, Harborside Coffee Shop, Aquamarine, and Henry’s. We wanted to try Kodiak Hana, Bean & Bloom, and Nuniaq but they were closed whenever we stopped by. We had a lovely visit and we would recommend staying at this VRBO.

After 51 years we revisited Kodiak. We lived in Kodiak for 2 years in the early 70s. The apartment was wonderful, great views, good weather and saw bears, eagles, seals, and tons of fish. Only disappointment was not being able to revisit the Chiniak Air Force Station, where I used to work. The road was closed at the missing Chiniak River bridge. Drove most of paved road system. Discovered the Pacific Spaceport, big surprise. Probably won’t have another chance to visit Kodiak but loved our time there this time.

For anyone planning a trip to Kodiak (which is indescribably beautiful), I highly recommend this as a comfy place to lay your head at night and to kick back and enjoy the awesome views--as promised--on the deck. Thank you to Gina for her prompt response to my request to add another night!

I spent most of my time outside. The views were incredible. The studio was very clean. It was a little difficult cooking, but, we made it work. We made bacon,eggs on English muffins. That would be the extent for cooking, unless you don't mind microwave meals. It was cute and just about everything we needed. Would definitely stay again!

Loved the views and the balcony at the Captain's Quarters. Was grateful for a previous traveler's advice that an eye mask would be helpful, as the curtains don't block out the long Alaska daylight at all. This is very cosy/compact and the kitchen area only really suitable for snacks, not much in the way of crockery and washing up a bit tricky in the bathroom sink after eating. But overall for a single traveller it was just what I needed as I mostly at out or got takeaway. Would recommend.

The view and location are truly awesome, as described. All communications were very easy to follow for check-in. I was traveling on short notice and the host confirmed quickly. The space is cozy, has good books and I watched sea lions and eagles from the windows. I would be delighted to stay here again and I recommend it to others.

We had a great time watching the channel with all the boats coming and going. There were multiple openers across the island and the salmon fleet and tenders were working hard coming and going. The space was very comfortable and peaceful.

Check-in process (self-check in) was easy as the property owner emailed us all the information we needed to find and get into the place. As soon as you walk-in you can see the amazing views you will enjoy for the rest of your stay. The apartment was clean and had everything you really need for your stay. The views from the balcony were amazing and you can really experience Kodiak as the locals do. If there is something that could be improved, is having a place to wash your hands inside the restroom. The toilet and shower areas are separate and there is no place for you to wash your hands other than the shower room. So, if someone is using the shower and you use the bathroom, you will have to wait to be able to wash your hands. It was not really a big problem for us. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to spend time in Kodiak. Thank you!
