Krásné ubytování k návštěvě safari v parku Udawalawa.

Krásné místo k navštěvě safari v parku Udawalawa. Rodinné ubytováni ve stylu safari v zahradě, veliká krytá terasa. Milý hostitel, připravil pro nás večeři, snídani na přání. Zajistí safari jeepem přímo z ubytování. Vše velmi pohodlné a čisté. Ideální místo odkud vyrazit na safari, ve vesnici je také záchranná stanice slonů.

Treated like royalty at Olivi Palace

Wonderful, spacious, clean and comfortable rooms Great area to relax overlooking the garden Fantastic hosts Lovely food and drinks - our evening meal was our best in Sri Lanka. Safari jeep for safari tours with Udawalawe jeep safari services - great tour with Nuwan Prepared a really good packed breakfast for our early morning safari

The room was extremely good value but we were a little surprised at the cost of the evening meal and the drinks we thought were complementary when we checked out. Worth just checking the costs of food and drinks as you go along so that you know what to expect.

sad and lonely place to stay for a solo traveler. deceptive advertising. worst place I stayed at during my 2 1/2 wee

Large room (missing light bulbs) and good bathroom. A/C worked, but no TV as advertised.

Only 2 rooms for rent at someone’s villa. this is NOT a hotel with indoor lobby, bar, restaurant. I chose this place because I thought it was a HOTEL, not a home-stay. and because they advertise having a flat screen TV in the rooms. turned out that both rooms were missing the TV. also, poor communication from the manager or employees (besides that they don’t speak English) and it was crazy that I was unable to find a place to walk to for dinner because of this rural town - Udawalawe- that is not set up for tourists, other than people coming in only for the wildlife safari. also, even though they could contact me by WhatsApp, I wasn’t able to find out when breakfast was available until a man knocked on my door at 8:30 AM. So breakfast was hurriedly prepared… yet they advertise that breakfast is included. on a final note. the cleaning lady and older man treated me like I was trying to cheat them out of payment. The bill showed a higher number than what was quoted on Billing.com. Their Booking.com ad does not say “cash only” so I was prepared to use a credit card. I didn’t have enough LKR and had to get my driver to stop by an ATM on his way to get me. they huddled around his car as though I was going to jump in and we would speed off without paying. even with all these negatives, I still tipped everyone. oH! another thing is that the WiFi connection was very poor and I could not view photos on social media or upload my photos to my travel page. I had to switch to Dialog 4g and use up my minutes.

Superb

Host was wonderfully friendly and happy to help. Great rice and curry evening meal and breakfast was abundant and high quality (quite sweet by normal tastes but seemed authentic and happy to try the local variants). Room was in a good condition and clean, bed comfy. They were very happy to arrange for well priced safari and taxi's too.

Amazing Stay

The staff was incredibly friendly, they were super helpful and for instance provided us with afternoon tea without charge. The offered food options (dinner and breakfast) were so delicious and the organized safari was great as well. The room was spacious and very clean - overall an amazing experience.

The accomodation is located in the middle of the city of udawalawe. While the location is alright, in hindsight we would have preferred a hotel that is closer to the National Park borders, as the Elephants come and visit the fences to be fed.

Everything was clean and comfortable. Great location near the Elephant Transit Home. The staff was very nice, they can help you to organize safari for a very good price. They also gave us welcome drink, gave us a very good torch during powercut. Breakfast was very good too.

There was a really great service in Olive Palace-we got a welcome drink, also a coffee before leaving. The room was super clean and it included kettle and cups. The dinner which we order was delicious and people around were still so nice. They also managed all transport that we needed (and driver was the kindest person) and safari (again with great driver). We highly recommend this place.:)

Perfect for transit home & safari!

The people there are just so so nice and caring. I got also a welcome drink :) I went there as a women alone and very welcome and safe. :) I could ask the owner anything anytime over whatsapp and also the staff was outstanding friendly. I ate dinner there and can tell that the portions are huge and it is sooo delicioud, especially the choclate mousse as dessert! Also they organized a safari and it was so so nice! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. The driver explained everything I wanted, he was funny and always making sure I get to see everything I want and stayed as long ad I wanted at each animal. I have been alone on the safari, so it really has been a pleasure. We have seen lots (!) of elephants, monkeys, crocodiles, bufalos and lots of birds. The hotel made me a very nice care package and even cold drinks for the safari. Also the transit home is walkable from there (5-10 min.) I would highly recommend this place.

One point less as a mirror in the bathroom would have been nice & the bed is kind of hard.

The best value for the money

Nice staff anything we wanted they arranged. Delicious meal one of the best we got in Sri Lanka. Accomodation is new the best value for that price, really... They are able to arrange safari trip to national park and elephant transit home is 10min walk away. Also transport by minivan is possible we used it and price like in pick me app... Highly recomend the place... Calm and lovely

Peaceful stay in the jungle before safari

The host messaged before arrival and offered to arrange all transport and safari options for our stay. The room was large with excellent AC and wifi. Excellent dinner and breakfast served.

Limited sign posting on main road makes it a bit difficult to find, but the owner is available to help guide you.

Exceptional

This place is so great! The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff here are amazing and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable! The food is also great, highly recommend having dinner at the restaurant. It's a ton of food for a great price. We will definitely come back here if we're ever in Udawlawe again!

Perfect place!

Very nice family, always paying attention in case you need something. Always want to help. They even picked up us to the bus when we were leavingbecause we needed to go to a bus stop quite far. Location: 5 minutes walk from the bus that takes you to the tawn, and 3 minutes walk to the main street. Really good room, clean and with air-condition. Bathroom modern, and clean. Shower has really strong pressure (first time duting our stay in sri lanka, and is something that we appreciated. Amazing dinner. Really tasty and big potions. Breakfast also. We took the safari with them, and it was really great. We recommend this place for sure, and we would repeat in case we come back!

Superb!

They turned on the AC prior to arrival and welcomed us with fresh watermelon juice. We also needed to go to an atm machine and they drove us free of charge and the driver gave us free king coconuts on the way. We also requested if they can cook lunch and dinner for us and it was so far the best home cooked food we had in Sri Lanka. Plus they also have their own safari jeep with a good driver. They’re superb in hospitality!

Great Base for a Safari!

Great place to rest for a night before going on a safari in Udawala Park to see elephants. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. They organised the safari for us for a reasonable price (4000 for jeep + 8000 park entrance fees for 2 people; we also paid a guide inside the park for 1500 to explain a bit more while we toured). Dinner was tasty with a selection of curries and other local dishes. They provided us with a light snack and water before the 6AM safari departure and we had a huge breakfast waiting for us upon return. Comfortable bed, good AC. All in all a nice stay!
