Good and bad

Lovely property lovely garden and bedroom

TV froze so on all night making sleep impossible Manager/owner unapologetic/ couldn’t care less.Sent him feedback same day;has not had the courtesy to reply ( coming up 2 weeks now) Had to wait 45 minutes for cold cooked breakfast on Sunday morning Bed not made up on the Saturday Substandard cleaning; dusty around and behind some bedroom fittings

Quaint, comfortable and cosy stay in the Cotswold countryside

Great location close to the Soho Farmhouse and Chipping Norton, lovely staff, clean, comfortable rooms with great bathrooms and nice touches like a range of tea and coffee options, homemade flapjacks, etc. The breakfast and coffee was included in the price and extremely tasty!

The TV in a room was very small/quite old. By no means a deal breaker, but if little touches like that were upgraded it would go from very good to superb!

Really nice stay and delicious breakfast but not worth the price.

Really nice property with a good restaurant and friendly staff. Views were nice and plenty of parking behind the property. The breakfast was so tasty.

Room was noisy (as you would expect being above a pub) and some of the furnishings were stained. The room cost a lot (£225 per night) and I don’t think it was worth the money.

Cute gorgeous room would highly recommend

The property was superb, really cute cottage style pub absolutely spotless. Only 10 mins from soho farmhouse where we were going so location great. The staff went above and beyond with us as well. Could recommend this hotel enough. Will definitely be back again. Thank you

Exceptional stay with amazing team of people!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the George. The staff were fantastic, a special mention to Maddy who went well and beyond what was expected! Could not fault a thing.

A nice place needs attention to detail

Lovely place, a lot of work has been done garden was fab. Good toiletries and nice rooms

Although at first glance looked clean it needed attention to detail a lot of dust in room and stairs needed vacuum. They had emptied rooms of personal items and left on stairs. Fab in room was really dirty. Not a budget stay so expected more. Room 3 at top of property was very hot. Had to turn off heating and open windows . Mattress was old so a topper had been added but didn’t make up for mattress.

Nice pub. Good room. Average food.

Very good room

Not enough comfortable seating available. Too many dogs Menu was not a la Carte. Food very average. Asked to order our breakfast the day before and we were not given what we had ordered. Had to ask for some of the food we had ordered. One bowl of yoghurt served with 2 spoons! Breakfast order forms confusing. Other customers also had issue with their breakfast

Food was fantastic but was asking at evening meal and breakfast if I wanted sauce extras, which I did and they never came.

Bath was dirty, shampoo conditioner lotion bottles old and almost empty and very dirty. quilt and pillows were awful, so flat/cheap.

Wouldn’t rush back

The restaurant and bar have very good atmosphere

We were given a room above the bar, very noisy and our toddler couldn’t get to sleep until past midnight. Only one radiator was working in the bedroom area so it was cold. We were given a little electric heating but it was incredibly noisy

This was one of the loveliest breaks my daughter and I have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed like long lost friends. Mattie is amazing, she made us feel like family. The room off the garden was ideal for us and our three dogs who were warmly welcomed too. The room is well appointed and homely with a wonderful bathroom suitable for a variety of needs. Extremely comfortable. The breakfasts and dinner were superb.

Absolutely nothing - one tiny little suggestion. A small soft runner headboard would be very helpful and aid comfort when sitting up to watch TV.

Great overnight stop with our dog - will be back

Great location and great friendly staff. Good food as well. Had a lovely fire on a cold night. Patrons were friendly and made us feel welcoming. Overnight accommodation was excellent and ideal with our large dog, who was made the centre of attention!

The staff were very pleasant and obliging. The food was good.

We thought it was overpriced for both the room and the food. Lacking hooks in the bathroom. There was only one chair in the room. There was nothing else in the village.

Awesome one night stopover that had it all! Beautiful location, great food, fabulous room and brilliant hosts!

This is a real gem, hidden in a beautiful small village the pub/hotel has a real Cotswolds charm but is also quirky and modern. Great vibrancy in the pub and restaurant. Food was amazing especially loved the Colombian eggs for breakfast, stunning bedroom and super dog friendly. Last mention has to be for the owners and staff who were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for their guests. Can’t wait to go back!

Great food, very comfortable rooms, lovely service too

Charming inn, lovely garden. Rooms very comfortable - we were in a garden room which was modern but with lovely decor in keeping with the older part of the building. Food was great and reasonably priced, one of the best hotel breakfast selections I’ve seen too. Only pub in the village so some locals (and their dogs!) added interest to the visit too.

Beautiful room, comfy bed, lovely grounds and staff. Restaurant meal in the evening was disappointing.

The property was fantastic, bed was a dream. Very comfy and such a peaceful location. Bottled water in the room, all the toiletries you need as well as a coffee maker and a couple of small sweet treats ! Rooms were huge, bathroom had a double sink. We could not fault the room or the staff at all. Gorgeous gardens as well. Breakfast was also fantastic, lots of options and everything was cooked to perfection/ presented beautifully.

We had a meal on the Monday evening. I ordered the pea and mint pasta, for £24.00 this was very disappointing. The pasta was undercooked and lacked flavour. We ordered the chocolate sponge for dessert which was not what we expected, mainly a chocolate ball with a very small amount of sponge crumbled into it. Seemed very expensive for what we got. When we got the bill we could see 12.5 percent service was added automatically. I agree that hospitality staff should get service charge when the customer is very happy with the food/ waitress but this should be their choice. It should not be added automatically.

Quirky room and ambiance assured in this beautiful Inn and gardens.

Staff and Chef prepared a breakfast bag for us the night before as we were leaving very early on the Sunday morning and the inhouse breakfast begins at 9am and was included in the room rate. The Staff were all really lovely and went above and beyond to accommodate us in the Conservatory for eveing dining.

The room rate was prohibitive for one night with breakfast. I can only assume that the rates were so very high due to the Silverstone weekend and that the rooms wouldn't ordinarily cost as much as this.
