My husband, my GSD Colt and I stayed over the week of New Year’s 2024. My son, his wife, and their daughter were in Orlando for my granddaughter to cheer at the Citrus Bowl, so they ubered half way to the house and we picked them up. Everything was awesome. The pool was brrr cold but the ocean was nice. They all kayaked and golfed and rode the bikes on the trails, and we had beach fires and played games and and watched dolphins. Neighbors are super sweet. Our dog and theirs played together. Great restaurants close by. Gorgeous area. The best sunset eva! Took my family to the airport and we stayed one more day and are on our way home now 😊 even though I was under the weather, my family made so many memories.

We had a relaxing week for Christmas. The kids loved being able to play in the water and it was a great location for my kiddos that can't swim yet because of the calmness of the Gulf in this location. The house is in a wonderful location and we enjoyed the locals going around on the decorated golf carts singing Christmas carols on Christmas Eve.

We arrived on a Friday for a week long vacation on the Gulf of Mexico. Our trip was cut short and we had to leave Tuesday morning because of the mandatory evacuation orders due to Hurricane Idalia. Our host, Mindy, was very responsive and helpful during our stay. We loved the retreat. The home was very roomy, comfortable and clean. Kitchen is very well equipped with most anything you might need. The pool was awesome. Sunsets were beyond beautiful. We enjoyed watching birds, dolphins and sharks! The parade of boats going by in the very close channel provided even more entertainment. Community was very welcoming and helpful. We definitely recommend this listing and plan to return. Our only disappointment was having to pack up and leave early.

Beautiful house, area and everything we needed for a great stay. Gorgeous sunsets, dolphins playing around. Channel right behind the house could watch all kinds of boats & shrimp boats come & go. Grandkids loved the pool. It really was paradise for a week. I didn't want to leave, and we live local 10 mins away. Will deff. plan another trip there. Ty Mindy for being so easy to work with & sharing this beautiful home with us. 🌻 Debra & family

We saw wildlife every.single.day! We loved the backyard so much and really enjoyed our stay! Heads up to anyone looking to book, bring beach towels and extra kleenex and trash bags. The house does privide some, but it is basic (and enough for us but something to be aware of). Mindy is wonderful and very responsive.

The other reviews say it all. Slice of paradise! I went in expecting to maybe see a dolphin one day but we saw dolphins every day multiple times throughout the day. Hope to return next year.

Cute home with a beautiful view of the ocean and sunsets. We saw dolphins daily and really enjoyed the kayak provided. The back yard could have been kept up a little better. If you are bringing your dogs beware that the yard is not fully enclosed. I had to keep my dogs leashed the entire time. Overall it was a great vacation spot.

This is our second year staying at the beautiful beach house. They have added a new door to the backyard of the property. The new poly wood furniture is fantastic. So many places to sit and enjoy the phenomenal view. We have booked for next year and cannot wait. This home has it all!!

Six of us enjoyed our stay. Sunsets were beautiful. We were close to activities and restaurants. The downside were the bath linens. Towels were pretty thread bare and well worn. We had a great time here, though.

Mindy was great to work with and we loved the house and views! Would definitely recommend this property for families. We loved it and the backyard is amazing! Right on the ocean.

This home is set up for entertaining and enjoying the water and views! Everything needed to enjoy: kayak, rowboat, games, books and a great firepit with enough chairs for everyone. We will be happy to return soon.

Saw dolphins everyday. Property had so much to do and was so relaxing. The community is low key and friendly. Felt right at home.

The house was so warm and inviting. It not updated much but I think that was the charm of it. Remembering the good old days. But all modern necessities are there. Having a pleasant host and a spotless house was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend

In the mornings we enjoyed our coffee out by the water in the sandy area waving and bantering with the friendly boaters passing in the no wake zone behind the home. It was a holiday weekend so we saw many boats, jet skis, paddle boarders and even saw some dolphins! At the entrance of the neighborhood is a marina that I think may rent pontoon boats. Our days were spent in or around the pool enjoying the sun. The strategically placed palm trees and greenery between the water and pool offers some privacy, which is nice. There are a lot of offerings for outdoor use at the home; a canoe, kayak, tons of water rafts/toys for the pool and in the garage there are bicycles. In the evenings, it was wine time on the back patio to witness the most breathtaking sunsets. We took so many pictures! After hours we enjoyed either playing games at the tables or spreading out in the house to watch multiple TVs; a necessity with teenagers around. The home reminds me of one we would see in Key West. As depicted in the pictures, the bright colors and beach décor definitely created the vacation vibe we were looking for. The location is very convenient as we went to a Walmart Superstore 3.5 miles away to buy groceries and supplies. Surrounding the Walmart are other big stores and fast food restaurants. Back closer to the home are several quaint seafood restaurants. We ate at Lei-Lo’s, which is waterfront as well. Since we live less than two hours away, this is definitely a retreat we would repeat!

This home was perfect for our family vacation. Very clean and the view was incredible. Owner was wonderful to work with, we can't wait to come back again.

I’m gonna start with the only con of our stay to get it out of the way:
House is outdated, as many reviewers already stated, so we knew this going in. The sliding glass doors are quite difficult to open and close, a couple of cupboard doors had faulty hinges, the outdoor beach chairs had several strands break under our weight (I broke one and am 120lbs). If the house got a nice little makeover and a second fridge(it was tricky fitting 9 peoples’ cold items in one fridge), it would be absolutely perfect!! But for the price combined with the fact we were rarely inside, this wasn’t a big deal.
Now on to the good!! The house is situated on arguably the most perfect location on the entire little peninsula with an unobstructed view of the Gulf of Mexico. We spent every morning, evening, and large portions throughout the day just relaxing right there on Mindy’s little created sandy beach enjoying the sun and waves. We saw dolphins every single day, several times they were up on the shore chasing prey, and once while 3 of us were snorkeling along the shore, a dolphin breached the surface no more than 8 feet away from us— it was incredible!! We saw sea turtles daily, a sting ray, and even a manatee showed up towards the end of our stay which totally shocked us as we didn’t know they could switch between freshwater and saltwater. We utilized the kayak daily and everyone who used it saw baby sting rays. When snorkeling, there wasn’t a whole lot to see compared to like, Jamaica snorkeling, but there was still a lot of fish, crabs, and snails—I did see a decent sized flounder out past the canal. And when we got too hot, the pool was the most perfect temperature, we spent hours swimming, playing, and relaxing in it. We utilized the bikes every day as well, it was neat seeing all the expensive properties nearby and there are multiple stores you could easily bike to within 10 minutes if desired. There are many great restaurants nearby, we ate at the Lazy Lizard(saw an alligator and hundreds of turtles right off their dock), Lei-Lo’s, Drunken Mullet, and the Upper Deck(saw multiple MANATEES right there while eating!!). Lei-Lo’s and Upper Deck were our favorite. We also went kayaking into Weeki Wachee using the rental place right next to Upper Deck, that water?!?! Wow!!! Mindy also let us bring our 2 pups when we changed up travel plans last minute, which was super appreciated. Overall, an amazing stay for an unbeatable price, don’t hesitate on booking!!

I don’t even know where to start…. This rental is truly one for the books…location location it’s by far the best view I’ve ever experienced in my life…the house is simply beautiful (even though we spent 98% of our week outside) beds were like sleeping on clouds!!!! I can’t even explain the full extent of our stay!!! Simply amazing!!!! Mindy was a pleasure. We are definitely planning our next visit!!! Thank you again Mindy for sharing your piece of heaven with our family!!!!

We loved our family summer vacation at the Hernando Beach house. The kids loved the pool and private beach. We kayaked all around the area even taking a trip to the Hernando Beach Flats and round island. The house had a fully equipped kitchen, which was great for making big breakfasts, lunch and most of our diners. We visited a few restaurants and like Brian’s Place and Upper Deck the most. We really enjoyed our kayaking adventure on the nearby Weeki Wachee River. We would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

Great Vacation!
House was great! View was fabulous!
Nice and spacious. Accommodated us with everything we needed.
Could use a few touch ups and TLC, however, these issues were not a deal breaker.
Will definitely rent again.
Great place families.
Mindy was a pleasure.

Awesome and Beautiful!
This property was beautiful! The house has everything you can possibly need in the kitchen for cooking; has pool floats, goggles, and pool toys for the kids in the private pool; table games, puzzles, and entertainment for inside. Uber Eats delivered quick with plenty of different restaurants to choose from in the area. Publix, Walmart, target etc. are all close by. My children (9,6,4) absolutely loved the backyard with the pool, private beach area, stairs into the gulf, and fishing. We’ve been to many different vacations from skiing trips, NC cabins, beach trips, cruises etc. and my children said this house and trip topped them all. We will definitely be booking again. Thanks!

Ultimate Vacation Spot
We’ve been on many resort vacations but we all agreed that this one topped them! Let me explain why.
1. No crowds.
2. Available kayak and canoe for our usage, no additional rental and very easy to launch from the house.
3. Dolphins every day! We were even able to kayak with them and watch them feed.
4. The view of the gulf and sunset
5. Nearby restaurants and seafood. We went to the Silver Dolphin twice. Breakfast was amazing. Great home fries and eggs were cooked perfectly, kids loved the huge pancakes! Also, very nice outdoor seating with turtles, alligators right there!
6. Great pool with lots of outdoor seating plus shaded seating with a fan outside.
7. Lots of things to do nearby if you can tear yourself away from the gulf and pool. We took a trip down to Dunedin and had a day at Honeymoon Island State Park. We were going to visit Weeki Wachee but decided to just stay at the rental instead. We didn’t want to miss the sunset over the gulf not even one night. It did rain once at sunset but the sky was amazing to watch.
8. Fishing, catching crabs, cast netting (we bought at Walmart which is very close by), watching stingrays— combined with canoeing and kayaking and swimming in the pool, grilling out — all provide more than enough entertainment!
Seriously, you could lay in groceries and bait and never leave this home and have a fantastic, stress free vacation. There are lots of books, bikes, and other things to do. This place will be forever in our hearts and we hope to return someday.
Thank you Mindy!

This was our second summer spending a week here. We love the amenities and location! The house is a little dated, but what a great spot and you can't beat the price! There were eight of us, four adults and four kids (ages 11-14). There is room to spread out and do what you want to do....swim, sit by the pool or ocean, play shuffleboard, kayak, have a bonfire, etc. Mindy was great about communicating with us when we had a problem with the pool. Both years, we have rented a pontoon boat for a day. Our first year, we snorkled with manatees at Crystal River. This year, we kayaked on the Weeki Wachee River. All of that was so much fun!

Overall we had a wonderful week while visiting Florida...
The Sunsets, Views & Private Beach were Amazing!!!
We would stay at this location again...only a few issues during our stay, the pool wasn't cleaned prior to arrival (lots of debris on bottom/top of pool & filter was clogged & filled with debris), electricians came to do some outside work - what we thought would be 2-3hrs. ended up being 8hrs. of them being there with us during our outside activities...
The house was nice, but could use a deeper clean under & behind the beds & dressers plus many of the blinds in the windows were broke...
Lastly, I recommend a gate at the steps going out to the Gulf...pets & children can easily access the water without the gate to protect them...

As advertised. Spacious beach house on the Gulf of Mexico.
House could use some updating of windows, doors, and fixtures.
Incredible sunsets and views in a safe neighborhood.
Good base to chill between Fla adventures.

We had an amazing week here and give it the highest rating possible. First, Mindy is an AWESOME host. She is so easy to get in touch with, gives tons of helpful information, and responds back quickly to any question you have. The location of the house is UNBEATABLE. I looked at hundreds of gulf coast properties on here for one that is waterfront, with a pool, pet-friendly (although we actually didn't end up bringing our dog, we could have), that's still affordable, and you won't find a better house out there for the price. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen is one of the best stocked we've ever had-- it has any pan, utensil, gadget you could possibly need. Some reviews mentioned the house is dated, but unless you are picky on style and need fancy decor, this house is more than nice enough. Yes, it is an older style and has a little wear and tear but it is clean, colorful and comfortable. What you see in the pictures is accurate, but I thought it was fun, beachy, and family friendly. It shouldn't really matter what the inside is like anyway because this house is more about its beautiful location and you'll want to be outside the whole time. The pool was cold (we were there in April) but my kids still got in. We used the kayak, fishing gear, shuffleboard, and firepit. It is very nice that Mindy provides firewood, lifevests, pool floats, 2 beach chairs, as well as books, games, puzzles, etc. The actual beach in front of the wall is rocky but there is a nice sandy "yard beach" where the chairs are set up so you still feel like you're sitting out at the beach. The sunsets were amazing. We saw dolphins and several cranes/herons--one heron came up right by the pool every evening! The neighborhood is nice and it is convenient to a Walmart/Target. You could definitely have a nice time just staying and hanging out at the house but it is also convenient to other fun towns/hikes in the area. We visited Homosassa Springs, Rainbow Springs, Honeymoon Beach and Caladesi Island, Tarpon Springs, Dames Cave, Weeki Wachee, and Chassahowitzka River--all were within about an hour or less. I could go on and on, but the other reviews already say it all. Bottom line, if you are looking for a well equipped house on the gulf, stay here, you won't regret it. Mindy has thought of everything you could need and I don't see how anywhere could have a better view! Thank you!
