Vacation in Paradise in our spacious (approx 1,700 sq. ft living space 3 bedroom 2 bath ground level home located in a quiet neighborhood in Marathon on the Gulfside of the island. Your dream vacation in paradise begins with an added bonus of no neighbors across the lush tropical nature preserve for added privacy! Our home boasts an extensive brick paver driveway and large parking area that can easily accommodate (1)boat trailer. . We are centrally located on a deep water flow-thru canal with 60 foot new concrete dock There is water and electric at the dock with a large bait freezer and commercial ice machine .There is a fish cleaning table to clean your fresh catch of the day. A fisherman's paradise awaits! We have direct Gulf/Bay access with only a few minutes boat ride to Vaca Cut for direct Ocean Access. You can be diving, snorkeling, and have your lines in the water in no time! We are a mere few minutes to Sombrero Beach, the Turtle Hospital and Crane Museum. Our custom in-ground heated pool has a beach entry ideal for leisurely lounging in the refreshing water and is surrounded by a brick paver patio with an extended concrete dock (great for fishing in the canal). the custom pool is in-ground concrete with built-in seating areas great for relaxing and enjoying a Keys cocktail. with a built-in heated spa with waterfall feature and natural rock details. The outside entertainment/pool area of our home is nicely appointed with patio tables and chairs, sun loungers, hand painted picnic table and a stainless steel gas grill. ,Large deep freezer. There is a ladder if you want to put your kayaks in the water. There is a additional fee if you want pool heated for the winter times $250 per week plus taxes . Property allows 1 vessel. The interior of our home has central Air Conditioning .Ceramic tile floors thru-out with a spacious living room featuring a tropical themed decor including love seat and couch , coffee table, end tables & Lamps, lighted ceiling fan, 55" flat screen Smart HD TV . The kitchen/dining area is open and spacious offering a large kitchen island with 2 bar stools, a dining table with 8 chairs, a large cabinet storage pantry, custom cabinetry with granite counters and stainless steel appliances including a built-in microwave, smooth- top range, dishwasher, disposal, and refrigerator with ice/water on the door. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, cooking utensils, pots/pans, cookware, toaster, coffee maker, and most importantly a margarita maker machine! The kitchen has a large pass-thru to the family room which is furnished with a large corner sectional couch, coffee table, end table with lamp lighted ceiling fan, and 55" flat screen smart HD TV. The family room has large windows with a gorgeous view of the pool/ outside entertainment area/canal plus a set of glass sliders that exit out to the pool/outside entertainment area as well as the dock Deep water canal. The master bedroom suite also has a set of glass sliders that exit out to the pool/outside entertainment area as well as the dock/canal. The master suite features a master bath with dual sinks and walk-in tiled shower. The master bedroom theme is seahorse its furnished with a comfortable king size bed, chest of drawers, armorer, night stands with lamps, chest of drawers, lighted ceiling fan, 40" flat screen smart TV . The guest bathroom has dual sinks with a shower/tub combo. Our home has high-speed wireless internet and cable TV in the living room for all our guests. Security cameras and Central A C throughout home. This was our second stay at Barry’s property. This year we had my parents, my brother and my two teenage boys. The boys spent the majority of the week fishing off the dock. We did many day, trips, including a trip to Key West, fishing charters, wake boarding and restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked, and there was plenty of room to relax. There was an issue with the dock lights when we were there, but those are in the process of being replaced. The location is perfect and a quick drive too many restaurants. We will definitely be back again!

Stayed here with my parents (65+) my husband (47) and my daughter (9) and it was perfect. The location was excellent and in close proximity many different things. The house was also fantastic. Very well kept and clean. It actually much larger than what it looked like in the pictures. There was more than enough of room for our family of 5.
We spent the majority of our days just lounging by the pool and enjoying the Keys way of life We also saw tons of wildlife right off the patio/dock (barracuda, manatees, dolphins, parrot fish, sharks, crabs, pelicans, scorpions, millipedes, etc)!
The manager, Barry, was also very attentive and responsive when my husband had a question, which was much appreciated.
We have been traveling to the Florida Keys for 15 years, and can honestly say this house is now one of my favorite places we've stayed. :-)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We fish so the bait freezer and freestanding ice machine were perfect. The fish cutting board was long enough for a two person operation. The pool was exceptional as was the hot tub. Great place to relax and unwind. Barry was very attentive to our needs and quickly responded to our inquiries. Thank for a great getaway.

What a great place and host. Barry was wonderful and made our stay at his slice of paradise so easy. We loved the house and it was perfect for our family vacation. The property on Grouper Lane was a very nice house with great amenities. The pool was very nice and was great having an onsite ice machine. The house is older but owner keeps it up to date and it was decorated very nice.

Stayed a week in October and couldn't have asked for a better host. Barry was very thoughtful and thorough in the details of staying on the property. The house has just about everything you need to start your stay. Very close to all the restaurants you could ever want to eat at and if you have a boat the ramp is like 1/2 mile away. Again thank you Barry for being a great host.

Check-in was a bit confusing, because we weren't sure what to do, but the property owner was super responsive to a phone call. The house has a nice open living room kitchen area, which was great for cooking and hanging out. The massive kitchen table made a nice spot to log in to work for a few hours, too. The refrigerator was broke while we were there, but the owner had put a temporary one in place, so it was a very minor inconvenience. When the wind blows tons of leaves fell into the pool, and while we scooped them out, it would have been nice to have access to a blower to get the leaves off the patio. Nice boat dock, and the icemaker out back was perfect for fish coolers on the boat or making cocktails out back.

Do not park your vehicle or boat on the side of the house you will have a mess in your boat and on your vehicle. Please when you stay here do not throw your food in the water like they tell you too.. As per the FWC you cannot put food in the water.

This is a nice place, the pool and hot tub were great as well as the outdoor space and space in general. It is located in a pretty nice area, though you will hear air planes all day. The dock is great if you have a boat or want to rent kayaks. My kids loved fishing right from the dock and looking for manatee.
One of the toilets was broken the day we checked in and it took about 3 days for it to be fixed, which wouldn't have been an issue but there were two families there. Management was in contact with us the whole time, which was great and not really their fault that the plumber was unavailable, but just wasn't ideal. Also, the listing says it accommodates 8 people, but when I informed management that there would be 8 people, not 4, I was charged an additional $337 and one toilet wasn't working the whole time the second family was with us. It was a little frustrating that we were charged an additional fee when the listing says up to 8 people. Also, you cannot adjust the temperature below 75 degrees, which is fine during the day, but it made sleeping comfortably rather difficult. The house had pretty much everything you need, expect there are no decent knives, just a couple steak knives, the grill was difficult to start and the sliding back door kept coming off the track. Again, all not a big deal but this place is not cheap to rent. If you fish though, it has everything you need including an outside table to filet your fish (but again, not decent knives), an ice maker in the shed as well as a deep freezer. There are outside chairs for the patio as well as a couple of folding chairs to take to the beach and a few beach/pool toys in the shed. The house has towels for bathing and for the pool and several smart TVs located throughout the house which was great. Check in and out was easy with the smart lock as well.

The outdoor space was as expected and we enjoyed every minute. We had a Manatee visit one afternoon and having the dock for our boat made it all very special. Don't forget to bring your sunscreen. We had a great time at this rental. The location is perfect in the middle keys with a quick trip to both the upper and lower keys. Barry was excellent in checking in with us. The pool was perfect and we enjoyed boating and fishing with direct gulf access. We would definitely return to this rental!

Our stay here was amazing! It suited our needs perfectly! The neighborhood was quiet, the pool was amazing, and our boat was right at the dock for easy runs to the reef! One of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we’ve had.

First time in the keys. Hauled our motorcycle down from PA. Bucket list item, riding our bike across the 7 mile bridge. It was amazing. The house was centrally located and perfect for our group. Saw manatees 3 different days in the canal. All in all we had a wonderful vacation and are so thankful we were there.
AC could have been cooler especially at night. And the margarita machine is just a blender. Slider by the pool didn't work/lock correctly. So a few updates but a great house.
Beware of the no-see-ums.

The house was better than advertised! Furnishings and appliances were top of the line. I never thought I’d get excited about a refrigerator in the living room, but the extra refrigerator was perfect for drinks and extras to keep the kitchen refrigerator from being crowded. The two living areas were great and allowed everyone to have a place to spread out. The kitchen was a nice size and the large pantry was great to store all our groceries and supplies. The pool and hot tub were really pretty with a natural stone border and a waterfall from the hot tub into the pool. The deck was a nice size and two picnic tables, a gas grill and two lounge chairs all added to the area. The outdoor shed with bait freezer and new ice machine made the fishermen in our family super happy! It was great to have an area outside of the house to lock up fishing rods and equipment. The ice machine put the paradise in fisherman’s paradise! The dock lights were a neat addition and made it fun to see what was swimming in the canal. We rented a boat for a week and it was so convenient to have the boat and everyone we needed right there. Our only complaint was that the bugs were really bad. We bought all kinds of bug sprays, citronella torches, ran a fan, as the neighbor suggested, but we had lots of bites! Despite the bugs it was definitely paradise!

My family and I stayed at this great house the week of Thanksgiving. It was better than the picture depicts. We are a family that enjoys fishing and rented a boat nearby. The dock was amazing with all the fish hanging out around the lights. Our boys spent most of their time enjoying the beautiful pool. Our holiday week here was absolutely what my family needed. This house was perfect for our family. Had everything we needed to enjoy our week in The Keys. The outdoor living area was amazing, from the pool and the hot tub, to the large patio where we could play corn hole every night. Rented a 22-foot boat and had no issues docking it, and had quick and easy access to the Gulf. The ice machine and bait freezer at the dock were great after a day of fishing. We had an issue at check in with the refrigerator not working properly, but Barry got on it and resolved it quickly. We are looking forward to our next stay at this beautiful home!!

To start off, this property was beautiful! The kitchen was beautiful, the sunroom was perfect, the bedrooms and bathrooms were amazing as well. The pool was most definitely my favorite spot on the property and provided ultimate relaxation. Barry and Terri were SO easy to communicate with at any given time and answered all of our questions and then some! The canal way was beautiful and the dock was perfect to fish from. As much as we enjoyed the Keys and traveling around to the sights, the days where we just hung out at the house and relaxed were just as amazing. We are already planning our trip back and will definitely stay at this property again in the future. It's a convenient location if you're looking to travel between keys, fish, boat or even just relax for the week. Barry and Terri were easygoing and helpful all around, we would definitely rent from them again and look forward to it. The only word of advice I have is grab no-see-um spray (we actually left ours in the shed for future travelers) because being right on the canal way in Florida, they do tend to swarm at dusk and even if you don't want to use the spray, there are plenty of citronellas provided! All in all, if you're thinking about booking... stop thinking and just do it!!

The property is exactly as pictured we were lucky to find it last minute. Clean spacious and great outside area. My only complaint would be the beds are harder than we like so next time we will bring mattress topper since we like softer.

We felt like we were monitored by video camera evidenced by reminding us to turn the dock lights on and that we had too many vehicles in the driveway. The sofas in the back sunroom seemed to have bugs in them. The dishwasher leaked so we didn’t use it. The garbage disposal didn’t work. The microwave broke on our next to the last day. It seemed like the garbage cans out front were being used by other people as well because we monitored what we put out and secured the cans so that the raccoons couldn’t get in them as instructed by the owner. However when we went to put our trash out, we found miscellaneous garbage thrown in the cans and not placed in garbage bags first.

We had a wonderful trip to the keys. Weather wasn’t as friendly with tropical depression Fred coming in on us, however we enjoyed our stay and made the best of it. Caught mahi, yellowtail, trigger fish, lobster... and ate like kings! We will be back!!

We sought out this property for the prime location, it is great for fishing and that is what we wanted to do, along with mini lobster season. Mind you, we paid probably double to stay here during mini week. A couple things:: check-in was a nightmare, code didn’t work, the neighbor lady told us that the owner purposely gives the wrong code at check in time so that he can monitor the people coming through the door on camera. There are cameras all around perimeter and we felt like we were being watched nonstop. Upon arrival, we argued back and forth with owner and VRBO because he decided a week before the trip to call me and lecture me on extra guest fees. We already paid twice the amount for what VRBO stated for two extra kids and the ad was incorrect on that amount, It didn’t matter to him that we were honest and upfront about our two extra guests, when he rudely called about that he informed me a 2nd boat would be another very costly amount. We refused to pay it and VRBO told us we didn’t have to because it wasn’t originally advertised but he changed the ad during that process to reflect a 2nd boat fee and fought hard for that extra fee. Just very weird and unwelcoming to experience that on an already expensive and long destination vacation. The ad boasted fishing location and a 60 ft dock, nobody we knew who also went down there and go every year (lots of friends who go for mini) none said they had to deal with paying for a second boat ever before.
Finally, after all of that, the middle dock post was broke off and had the owner said that, it might not be safe for your boat here instead of demanding extra payment, it would’ve prevented our boat from getting hung up, tilted over and sinking right at the dock in the middle of the night. $4200 later to sea tow, the owner reaches out and does ask if everyone is ok, but seemed mostly concerned about his dock lights and whether they still worked. He could’ve cared less about the damage caused by his faulty post. He wouldn’t even acknowledge it when I sent him a pic telling him he should have it fixed before his next guests arrive. If anyone else does need a second boat and also thinks paying extra for it is ridiculous, the sweet lady next door says you can use her dock for free. The whole experience just created a weird vibe for the week. We still had a good time, because it’s the keys, but none of our other friends down there had this kind of experience with their owners. We will NOT be returning.
