First time in Hvar

great location

The sofa bed in our family suite was badly positioned as was permanently set up as a bed for our eldest and could not walk around it to get to the other bedroom because of other furniture. it was also a very uncomfortable sofa bed and we had to request an extra mattress. the pool bar was great but the staff were very slow and sometimes would disappear after taking our order and not come back. Despite the above criticisms, it is a good hotel in a great location and for the most part the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fabulous and luxurious few days in paradise

Stunning place, all staff helpful especially anja and luka at the bar who looked after us. Josip and ana at reception and all the other staff we came into contact with. Lovely

Very disappointing level of service and facilities for the 5 star prices (400 euros per night per room).

Has a decent pool and very good breakfast

Tiny rooms, no private beach or sun beds allocated to hotel at nearby beach, had to return towels to the pool area and couldn’t leave in your room, no vanity kit in the rooms.

Highly recommend

Close to main restaurants and port. You can leave your luggage with staff at the port, so you don’t need to carry to the hotel. Facilities are great, the pool, staff, room. No fault whatsoever.

Great location and a lovely hotel.

It is a maze inside with very little signs. We struggled to find our room and we’re very far from reception. Hotel staff are lovely but if you need something fixed/delivered it takes multiple calls before anyone comes. Not ideal especially when the aircon is broken.

Superb

Great pool, situated near a lovely little beach. Easy walk into Hvar old town and the ferry. Loved that the hotel meets the ferries and collects luggage.

Noisy. Could hear parties and music at all hours.

Perfect stay, sea swimming was wonderful

Breakfast was fabulous.The walk along the coast into Hvar was lovely, access to the beach easy.All in all a great holiday.

Incredible resort stay with a wonderful pool and great beach access

Incredible resort stay with a wonderful pool and great beach access! Amfora a upgraded us to a two bedroom suite with balconies and it could not have been nicer of them! We also love how they arrange to take your bags to and from the ferry port as the short walk to the hotel from the ferry port is steep.

Superb

Loved my stay at Amfora Hvar Grand Beach Resort. It was very quiet, as the season was just starting, but still had a pleasant atmosphere. Room was spotless, location perfect for the old town and staff were all lovely. I would stay again!

Dated, yet still a wonderful stay.

Great views and location however the property is dated and the photos do not replicate the situation at the property. they would benefit for a little capital expenditure.

Beautiful if you get a nice room!

First night the air conditioning system dripped on my friend and there was a strange smell and stain by my bed so we mentioned it to staff with no expectations and got immediately moved to a penthouse which was probably one of the most beautiful rooms I've ever stayed in! The staff went above and beyond for us, very kind and helpful.

The first room, was quite tight for three beds and there was a vomit stain and unpleasant smell by my side of the bed. Also the air conditioning system dripped on my friend through the night, so impressed at the customer service following our complaints, but still surprised they'd let paying customers in a room like that in such a high end hotel. Aside from that, all was fab!

Nice and clean room, lovely pool area, great breakfast buffet and very convenient pic up service for the bags at the port

It is a very large hotel complex with a lot of guests, and quite noisy from the corridors

Lovely hotel

Beautiful large hotel - we had booked a two-bed suite but were upgraded to a Penthouse Suite which was gorgeous and a nice surprise. Stunning view over the clear blue bay and even though we went in 2nd week of October the weather was gorgeous. Not too hot but warm and comfortable enough to go sightseeing. We ate a very nice dinner on in the self-service restaurant.

Nothing I didn’t like. The ferry dropped us off the other side of the marina and although the hotel vehicle was waiting to take our luggage the long way round via the road, the walk to the hotel along the marina path was 10 to 15 minutes so be prepared.

Beautiful views that will stay with you forever

The pool, with the view of the sea, is the perfect place to relax and feel really 'on holiday'. The walkway out to the town means you can be at the Fort or the harbour and restaurants in no time at all, just following the coastline. I'd definitely return. We absolutely loved the man that helped us with our bags - he was Bosnian and I so wish we'd asked his name - he gave us such a warm welcome and helped us with our departure. He was 10/10.

The food is OK at the hotel, but I'd recommend going out into the town and trying some of the INCREDIBLE restaurants. There is apparently a rule that you must use hotel towels at the pool. If that's the case, I'd recommend making it more obvious (rather than telling people off for using their own).

Great location but hotel not quite right for us

Breakfast was great - good quality food and lots of choice. Throughout the hotel, the staff were always lovely. Location - excellent. A short walk into the main town and great views from the room of the islands.

The hotel in general felt a bit old and peely - in need of a refresh. And it was just too big for us. We knew when we booked that we might feel this, but we had booked late so not much choice left. We would have preferred somewhere smaller and bit more boutique style - Amfora is massive and maybe better suited to groups. Despite the size of the hotel though, the room was small, hardly any space around the bed and not much space for storing clothes. Pool looked lovely but was freezing! (the sea was warmer)

A perfect place to relax a couple of days.

The location was perfect, close to the beach and in walking distance to Hvar Town. The little pebble beach with crystal clear water was perfect for swimming, we also rented a kayak to explore the beautiful shore. The cocktails at the swimming pool are very well done by a friendly stuff. The bed was very comfortable and everything was perfectly clean. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a very good quality and a big choice.

You had to pay seperately for the sunbeds at the beach. The price was not the problem, but rather the hassle. You would expect from a hotel of this quality that a sunbed is included.
