Aardig maar centraal was beter

Veel ruimte en leuk dat je een echt kimono achtig kledij krijgt die je draagt na het gebruik van de onsen. Bij ons ging iets mis in de reservering. Ik had het zelf een dag te laat gereserveerd. Maar ze hebben toch een kamer kunnen regelen voor ons. We konden voor een kleine vergoeding ook een bed voor onze peuter krijgen. Heerlijk om gebruik te kunnen maken van de onsen.

Matrassen waren dun. Verder prima. De ligging valt tegen als je een kinderwagen bent. Het is nog best een eindje lopen van het centrum. De busservice die de accomodatie biedt is beperkt. En omdat het op een heuvel ligt is het zwaar om de kinderwagen te duwen. Helaas waren we door de fout in bieking te laat voor de dinerreservering (reserveer tijdig het diner) en kon de eigenaar geen diner meer bieden. Wij moesten daarom naar de stad (dus ook geen shuttle service meer heen of terug) maar daar waren ook alle restaurants al volgeboekt. Met een hongerige peuter op zoek naar eten was niet zo leuk. Was prettig geweest als ook daarin mogelijkheden werden geboden door de accomodatie, zoals dat ze voor je bellen en reserveren of meedenken in ieder geval. En neem een oogmasker mee, ze hebben geen verduisterende gordijnen.

Ça frôle la perfection.

L'accueil chaleureux, chambre spacieuse et impeccable. Nous avons pris le dîner et c'était parfait. Le onsen privé. Très belle expérience en Ryokan à un bas prix.

Les onsen auraient besoin d'un rafraîchissement.

Would definitely come back

Super accommodating staff and a great location just out of the main town, right near Hida no Sato. Dinner and breakfast were phenomenal and well worth the extra money.

The only thing that wasn't fantastic was there is a bit of wear and tear at the property, which is understandable given the age of the building and volume of guests through.

A wonderful quaint time travel back to the past , highly recommend!

Great location & great amenities ^^ Ryokan is just a few minutes drive from Hida Folk Village & even offers a complimentary private onsen for couples, replete with all necessary amenities. Felt like I was transported back in time in the traditional setting . Host is also really sweet, helping me with my heavy luggage. Thank you for making our visit to Hida such a great one :>

Property is on a hill. If driving, parking is also only allowed on the bottom of the slope. Hence, bringing in the luggage might be a hassle for some.

A fantastic stay

The Ryokan was lovely, as were the staff. The traditional rooms set away from the city centre was refreshing and we had clear mornings where we could view the snow capped 'Japanese Alps' from our room.

The stay was fantastic, just a note that it is away from the centre of town (about a 25min walk back to the Ryokan), so we had to do this walk in the evenings after dinner.

Great staff and really friendly. We had the set menu and it was marvelous. Great place to stay.

The old fashioned toilet in the room was not what I like and the futon was thin, but that might be just me. Liked everything else

It was probably one of our favorite places that we stayed at while visiting Nagoya.

There were private and public onsens available on site. it was a very quiet and peaceful Ryokan. You could easily walk 5 min up the hill to visit the Hida Folk Village.

great place for city escape vacation!

The owner is very helpful and kind during our stay. They can speak some English. The food we ordered is very generous portion and definitely value for money. Important is - really fresh and delicious! a great place for City Escape holiday and I enjoyed strolling around nearby the ryokan. Peaceful!

I somehow keep showing this place to friends and family

This was my 3rd time coming to this ryokan and I will keep coming every time I visit Takayama. The staff is amazingly friendly and the shuttlebus is amazing as well. Hida village is just 7min away.

Great snowy escape in a traditional ryokan

Warm host, they give pickup service from station since ryokan is little away from main town. Great place with good facilities and a lovely hot spring bath Due to some cancellations we had the entire place to our selves Walls are adorned with praises from various past host. Loved that they have a map for past years depicting from which regions tourists have come. Owner was kind enough to drop us at the station in the morning even before their regular shuttle service

Located a little bit away from the main tourist attractions. Might be a hassle if you planing to walk back after dinner especially in the snow like we had to.

the location is inconvenient if you do not have a car. but this is made up by the shuttle bus service provided by the property.

very nice Japanese experience. Japanese style room. hot bath. Tea in the room. good breakfast.

location is far from the center. no shower in the room this price is surprising. quite cold in the toilet

hard pillows, needs a spruce up, expensive relative to other places we’ve stayed in Japan, no cups for hot drinks (needed in winter) and no microwave in room.

lovely traditional and fun!

I like the traditional aspect, the room and the facilities and the cultural experience was amazing!

the futon bed wasn’t very comfortable if you’re not used to it, but that’s my own fault because I sleep on my side

Relaxed Japanese experience next to the mountains

The ryokan exceeded all my expectations, an authentic Japanese experience with excellent food. The owner was super nice and took care of all the details to make sure I was having the best experience in his hotel. He drives a shuttle bus anytime you need to go to the city or pick u up from the station, which made my trip much much easier.

Superb

The host is very friendly, helpful and speaks English. The room is nice and cosy. Nice walk to Hida folk village and got a discount voucher from him. Big thumb up for the private onsen..😁.

The dinner was excellent, it was worth the price. The shuttle was very convenient and the staff was very welcoming. The room was spacious.

The futon was less comfortable than I expected. The hot water was kind of oscillating in temperature (although I could take my bath, this was a little annoying). The view of the room was not great.
