Stayed 6 awful nights in total. Contacted this hotel 6 times over 3 months requesting an upgrade without any response...terrible communication. Check-in process took over 2 hours despite paying for an early check-in. Did not get the Deluxe Garden room we paid for. Was forced to pay more for a premium executive room, which was nowhere near the pool. This is despite them claiming there were no upgrades available. Room I paid more for was a dark hole with one tiny window and no natural light. No furniture, nowhere to put your luggage to keep it off the floor, and we only had carry-ons. Six hangers between three people. The fan wasn't working on arrival. The doorway was improperly sealed, thus the room was an ant highway. I woke up every night to an ant on my neck. They were on the beds, and under the bed sheets. I prepaid $168 for 4 breakfasts for 2 adults and 1 child, yet was hassled several times a day by numerous staff to pay the breakfast bill. This was an everyday occurrence. The staff, after being told by me that morning that I had a prepaid reservation with breakfast would wait for us to leave the pool area and then approach us again, demanding that we pay the breakfast bill. This happened every single day. We also regularly waited for over an hour at the pool before we were asked if we needed a drink. If you walked up to the bar, you were told to sit down. Unacceptable service standards for the money we paid. On roasting hot days, they would come around and take the umbrellas down so people would have to leave the pool area or be fryed. Got a welcome call on our fourth day. Housekeeping took the second room key from our room, which is a serious security issue. We were left with no fresh drinking water in our room for several days. Had to buy bottled water on the street. This was our third hotel stay on this trip. The other two were outstanding.

Great facilities: good location-close to the main plaza, but far enough to be quiet; beautifully decorated rooms; lots of amenities in the room and on the grounds; and free parking provided two blocks away
Service was REALLY bad:
- Long wait for food at the restaurant and they got our order wrong meaning we had to ask for our kid’s meal again and wait for it while the rest of us were already served!
-Requested an extra towel from the maid upon arrival, but they never came. Had to ask another maid in the evening before we got the towel.
-A/C control didn’t work. Called the front desk and asked for assistance. No one every came!
