Fabulous staff make this a great place to stay

We had an amazing three nights here. The staff - Raymond, Gabriel, John, Ebenezer, Simpson and all the rest - were FABULOUS. The room was very clean and comfortable and the food was great. It is located on top of a hill (so bear that in mind if intending to walk) which makes it feel private and secluded and the pool overlooks the town.

Superb retreat after a day's excursion

Well-maintained property offering particular attention to local detail. Well-designed and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, useful amenities and toiletries, appealing landscaping of the grounds, spectacular views of the forts in Elmina, the salt flats and the Atlantic seafront. Lush vegetation, cosy seating areas, well-furnished recreation room. Returning after 4 years, I found the place as it was before, only better! There was a ceiling fan in the room in addition to air-conditioning and the fan was entirely sufficient with the terrace door open. There was an ample a la carte breakfast and a good variety at other times in the restaurant. The wait staff obliged and turned down the volume of the music when requested. Though I didn't use the swimming pool, it was clearly enjoyed by other guests.

The hotel only loses full marks because though the bathroom doors are now more solid than they were 4 years ago, one still hears far too much of what is happening there through them. It could be awkward for friends sharing a room.

my first impression of this hotel was that the pictures on this site do not do it justice. Everything from the reception to the restaurant and pool area was ten times better than what I thought it would be. the hotel is situated at the top of a step hill and a car is required to get it. The staff were super attentive, helpful and professional. The layout of the pool area impressed me the most and the rooms, were clean, fresh and presented. My son actually said this is the best hotel he had stayed in which is something he never says. The menu in the restaurant is extensive, although there were several items unavailable due to the seasonal availability. The head chief has more than 30 years of experience and it was very evident the cooking skills and the experience as the meals produced were excellent, especially the Ghanaian cuisines. Top class hotel and I am planning of returning again during my next stay in Ghana.

only thing I would say, is the menu could probably be catered a little more to children.

Excellent stay. Will definitely be back! Highly recommended.

Excellent location with great views over Elmina. Walkable to the castle via the salt pans and hotel can also organise taxis. Excellent staff - very helpful and friendly. Good food!

Some of the facilities like the gym could be updated. Plus it would be great to play Ghanaian music in the bar/restaurant

The ONLY luxury hotel in the area!

The AMAZING view!! This place is a lovers dream, girlfriends getaway, romantic destination. It literally sits above the whole entire Elmina…oh and you can see Elmina castle and the beautiful blue Atlantic sea from your rooms patio!!!

Great for a short stay. Clean rooms and easily accessible location.

Large rooms, really affordable price point.

wifi was on and off. Not enough towels (only one is provided for a family of 3). Bring your own toiletries as well.

Excellent

Excellent facilities, lovely pool, spotlessly clean and friendly, well organised staff. Also great views from the hilltop down to the salt fields and Elmina and the coast.

Great location by the sea with excellent views

The position on a hill with views of the sea, the fort, castle and the salt ponds are excellent. The staff have excellent customer service approach and facilities are very good

Not much to dislike. The only comment is that there are saloon type swing doors to the ensuite bathroom which offers only partial privacy when using the facilities, so it could feel a little awkward if bathroom privacy is paramount when sharing a room

A magical location at the top of a steep hill overlooking the city with a 360 view. Friendly staff and nicely decorated rooms with an authentic vibe. The included breakfast was delicious.

Quirky saloon doors to the toilet. Fun but not very practical.

Great place to stay in Elmina

We had an amazing room which had the view or Elmina castle, we sat on our balcony and watched the sunset over Elmina. The room was great, an very clean. Staff were very attentive, the pool was great and food selection was plentiful.

It’s a bit out of Elmina, but we got a taxi to and from where we needed to stay. The toilet doors are like saloon doors so not a lot of privacy in the bathroom.

Thanks to Emmanuel for being a great host and making us feel welcome. The hotel is situated at the top of a hill adjacent to Elmina with great views of the town and Elmina Castle. The restaurant serves a wide range of meals. I would like to thank Fostina for freshly preparing coeliac friendly gluten free food.

It was very enjoyable. Hotel staff were lovely, facilities and cleanliness exceeded expectation.

Breakfast was good with many varied items .. very filling !

Staff need to manage the use of facilities by townies more closely.. they took over the pool area and was very roudy so we who were lodging there had to go to nearby beach for some peace.

Lovely hilltop hotel with pool and view

The hotel was lovely in general. The room was really nice, clean and comfortable with full amenities. The staff was super friendly and efficient. The swimming pool was fantastic and had a great view that overlooked the town and ocean.

The hotel is quite isolated - far from the town on the top of a hill with unpaved road access. I had expected the hotel to be closer and walkable into town but that was not possible at all.
