Fantastic location and is worth the drive up from Noumera. It is in the most beautiful setting. Wonderful staff and very welcoming.

Great location with snorkeling spot. Great value.
Expensive food.

We had a bungalow right on the beach. The room was spacious.
There was nowhere to buy any food unless you ate in the dining room which only offered a very expensive nightly buffet. The town was a 10 minute drive away.

mostly clean, at the beach, quiet, air conditioned!
really impressive that they have this resort at all on such a remote pet of the island! it’s easy to criticize that this should be better or that but it’s really cool to have all these mod cons here.
as everyone else has said the price of the restaurant is high!

Meals were great, rooms were clean and comfortable. The location is great. Sadly at this time, swimming is ban.
I was hoping to get one of the bangalows with private swimming pools but there was no vancancy.

as above and the buffet was excellent

The staff were all very pleasant. It is a lovely location with the very comfortable huts looking out to the water or to greenery. It was probably our most luxurious accommodation on our trip.
We had the most beautiful hut where you could lay on the bed and look directly out of the water but there was a beeping sound that kept happening at regular intervals and then there was an electrical fault. Because of this we had to move to a different hut with not quite as nice a view, and this meant packing everything up back into the car and driving to a different parking area and setting up again. We realise, though, that this was for our safety and the manager was understanding and compensated us appropriately with a reduction in cost. It was a shame but these things happen. Overall I think the property could do with a little more maintenance but it remains a very pleasant hotel. Also swimming in the sea was not allowed due to sharks and the pool was receiving some maintenance (I guess it has to happen some time) but it meant we couldn't swim.

location, food was ok if expensive
the staff were very unfriendly. Strict 2.30pm check in. 4 other groups arrived around noon as we did and were turned away by the desk clerk. They also tried to charge us twice for dinner which cost nearly as much as the room.
Run down facilities. Mould in the dining room and eating areas. Everything looked tired.
Our room back door did not lock, the tv didn’t work and the safe was locked when we arrived. The safe was easy enough to resolve but the rest not.

A little tired in common araes but allowances must be given post Covid as no doubt they need recovery time after no trade
That they only offered buffet style meals which were very expensive and as no other real options about you are stuck with it. You don't need that many buffets in one day.

Location and cleanliness.
Buffet dinner is very expensive. They know they aren't many restaurants around.

great beachside property. lovely sea view and easy to use facilities
smaller options for the food, although the buffet was wonderful.

Location was amazing and a great base for exploring. The confusion with our booking was remedied and we ended up with a lovely quiet bungalow. The soa pool was very clean and relaxing.
A few plates and some cutlery in our room would have made it perfect.

Great location for sightseeing around the local area and comfortable rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Quite a few interesting local tours on offer. The food quality from the A la carte menu was outstanding! Excellent chef! We did not try the fixed price smorgasbord dinners as we thought quite expensive when we do not eat a lot and one of us is vegetarian.
Food choices were limited. The property is isolated so you should bring what you may need with you. We did not have a car but the hotel kindly offered to drive us to the village store, with some great sightseeing on the way. Much appreciated!
5.0
Wide open spaces in property (though this means longish walks to/from chalet). Close to the beach.
Although the chalets themselves were relatively OK, the property itself is run down and needs a lot of TLC, as well as significant upgrade in facilities (eg restaurant hasn’t seen a lick of paint for many years, loose electrical cables etc). I don’t think we actually saw anyone maintaining the facilities during our stay (rubbish bins never emptied on the property and so on). The restaurant only provides buffet style meals, at a steep price, and I suspect a lot of reuse between meals - there’s a restaurant in the Hienghen village, with a marginally better quality/price ratio. The beach is not that inviting for a swim (rocks, rubbish etc.).

Nothing we didn’t like but some things less than others. Overall experience was excellent.

The hotel has fantastic location, decent snorkeling straight from the hotel. Also very close to the local tribe - where you can buy fresh fruit, or just interact. We stayed in the refurbished bungalows which were comfortable. Food from the menu was very tasty and well prepared. I’m not a big fan of buffets, which were offered over the weekend and public holidays - the buffet also looked good, just not my kind of experience. Great hotel for families, so much to do with children - not just swimming.
I recommend speaking even very basic french.
The pool has seen its best time. Ok to swim, you just need to be mindful about loosen tiles.

A beautiful location in Kouloune Village at Hienghene - our bungalows were right on the beach and featured heated outdoor spas.
This hotel was once a Club Med resort and its facilities, except for the bungalows, are now quite tired and run down but still serviceable - there was a tennis court, volleyball court and a very basic mini golf goat-track.
The pool was clean and very good.
There is a lot to see and do in and around Hienghene and this is a good place to stay.
The restaurant menu was limited and the food was average - we chose to have both breakfast and dinner out in Hienghene on our second night which sums it up.
The staff speak little to no English and cannot help with much other than checking you in and printing out the bill.
