LOVED our time here!! Were here for 4 nights and took day trips. One of the things we were hoping to see was the northern lights. We got the BEST show right here. The first night, we drove our car a short distance to a pullout the direction of the city. They weren't as strong. The last night Mother Nature gave us the BEST send off with the most stunning show that went across the fjord.
This unit is actually a part of a complex called Nollur. The units all overlook the Eyjafjörður which is the longest fjord in Iceland. You can also see Hrísey Island. You are about 20 minutes from Akureyri and about 30 minutes from Godafoss. It is about 1 hour to Myvatn, which was AMAZING. You are right down the road from Laufas, a turf house museum. Along the road to Akureyri, you can stop and sit in Foss ( natural geo thermal pool).
There is a toll tunnel but you can bypass this by taking route 84. It is very scenic and paved. The first time we ventured out, we took route 83 which is mostly unpaved and went by the Laufas turf homes. It ran somewhat parallel to the 84 along a beautiful river. You can see the river on both route 83 and 84. Both routes eventually connect to the 1.
We enjoyed using the round, wooden hot tub. Bring your coffee beans as there is a wonderful coffee maker that both grinds the beans and makes your coffee. There is a second coffee maker for ground coffee. Composter and recycling here too. AMAZING, AMAZING place!!

A stunning location, overlooking the largest fjord in Iceland. 20 mins drive to town for groceries and restaurants. Inside, the place is immaculate, with hi-tech sound system if that is your thing. We had a fabulous 4 nights, including a whale-watching boat trip on the fjord. Only one thing to beware of, the curtains are not black-out however we found we slept fine without eye masks.

This was our 3rd stay at Fnjoska in Nollur and we would happily stay here again. It is spacious, clean and well appointed and the view from the very large picture window of the Eyjafjörður fjord really is breathtaking. It is easy to send many hours simply looking out of the window at the beautiful Icelandic scenery and weather.

Absolutely perfect place to completely chill out half way around Iceland if you’re on a road trip
The location is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️as are the facilities. Everything you need is provided, the music system was fantastic, loved the layout, the hot tub was incredible and nicely sheltered from the winds and the views were just priceless.

Had a wonderful time at Fnjoska! The view of the fjord was amazing, especially through the hot tub window. The only thing that would have been helpful would be directions for using the stove and oven if you want to cook, but overall a spectacular time.

My week long stay here was incredible! It’s a gorgeous property with amazing views of the fjord. Also a perfect location - close enough to the city and other attractions but still a quiet and peaceful escape. One of my favorite VRBO experiences yet - highly recommend!

Staying at the Fnjoska house was a highlight of our stay in Northern Iceland. The view never got old.
We easily got to the spa at Lake Myvatn, whale watching in Husavik and horse back riding was nearby.

Splendid fjord views from the sofa
Very well appointed, and spacious apartment with the biggest window you will have ever seen in your life looking straight out at the fjord. Geothermal hut tub a definite plus, also with view. Situated in lovely area. No tv needed.

Wonderful stay
This was without a doubt the most beautiful place my husband and I have ever stayed. The house was so welcoming and well equipped. As two people who love to cook we adored this kitchen. The bed was extremely comfortable and the directions on how to use everything were very clear and easy to understand. We would absolutely return to this place and plan on recommending it to friends and family.

Beautiful property in an beautiful location
Our 2nd time staying at Nollur Fnjoska and we had just a good visit as the 1st time. Lovely apartment with a beautiful view over Eyjafjörður fjord through the amazing picture window. Great communication with the owner, check-in was no problem and exactly as described.
Some small suggestions that might lead to an even better stay next time would be: some more electrical plug sockets (particularly in the bedroom and lounge) and more lighting in the bathroom (particularly when facing the mirror).
Thanks for a great stay!

Why bother going outside?! (We did anyway!)
With such a beautiful view from the living rooms massive picture window why would anyone need to actually go outside? I'm kidding, there are so many reasons. The secluded nature of the property was perfect for 3 nights in the North. A small snaffu on check in (we ended up arriving later than anticipated) was the only issue but the owner was very responsive none the less. The geothermal fed hot tub was an end of the day treat that was a nightly ritual not to be missed. Despite the 22 hours of sunlight the bedroom was dark enough to get good sleep in the early summer. The well equipped kitchen was the perfect place to start our day (Get some beans from Reykjavik Roasters if you have a minute when you first arrive in the country). There's a 24hr grocery in Akureyri if you find yourself without eggs and bacon for the morning at 10pm. The house manual was well written and included many great local tings to do, Polar Hester farm for horseback adventures was awesome! The best part, no matter what time of day, was the drive to Nollur farm up 83. The view was more than we could have dreamt up. Give yourself some extra time in the schedule to just stop and take it all in. I would highly recommend this property to anyone just wanting to relax for a while or make it your home base like we did and explore all the North has to offer. We will definitely be back to explore what we didn't have time to see on this adventure!

Beautiful stay
We had an excellent stay. Beautiful property. The only hiccup was the listing said there was a washer/dryer, but there was not. Thomas fixed the listing and made it up to us. Highly recommend.

Cosy farmhouse
The house was not completely ready but the host was very friendly and quick to response to their mistake. I'd definitely return to nollur
and recommend it to others.

We absolutely loved our stay. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the last few days of our vacation after weeks of travelling the five Nordic countries. The views were gorgeous and getting to enjoy them from the hot pot was incredible.

Beatiful home between the mountains and the sea.
We had s wonderful time at Nollur. The house was beautifully appointed with everything we needed for our stay. Located At the foot of the mountains overlooking the sea it was an idyllic setting. We particularly loved the large picture window and the incredible hot tub. It was very easy to find and within a 25 minute drive to a large town for grocery shopping and restaurants. Truly a remarkable location and house.

Definitely the best place and best views of our trip.
We stayed in this place which is right next to the water high atop a hill where you can see for miles. We stayed in the larger of places, the one with the hot tub. That was such a great treat to visit in the morning and evening just to relax.
You're not that far from Akureyri to get a bit to eat, walk the city and grab some drinks. The place was quiet which we wanted and they are always building on the property trying to make it better. We did have some of the sheep next to us but didn't smell them at all as the place is quartered off pretty well.
If you're looking for a place to stay that is near Akureyri, this is a good spot. The views are amazing and the place will take your breath away.

A beautiful get-away
This house on the Nollur property is beautifully designed, and has unparalleled views of the fjord. There are other rentals nearby, but the layout of the property provides privacy.
The house was a perfect location from which to venture on day trips to the Myvatn area, including Dettifoss waterfall, Dimmu Borgir, and Myvatn nature baths.
Akureyri is close by and provides all services needed.
I loved this house. It was very open, comfortable and spacious. The wooden tub was delightful, and very easy to fill.
This would be a great place to view Northern lights.

Amazing start to our Honeymoon
We had an absolutely amazing stay here, the start of our honeymoon. We loved everything about this property.
The kitchen is fitted with top quality fittings, the hot tub is amazing, and that view...to die for.
We loved the sound system to chill in the evenings, and we loved the access to the computer, so we could plan our trips. We will return here without a doubt - the best place we ever stayed.
We loved North Iceland, and had many enjoyable days out and trips, all highly recommended, Lake Mývatn, Hverir Sulphur Pools, Sellfoss & Dettifoss waterfalls, Lofthellir Ice Cave, Aldeyjarfoss & Godafoss waterfalls.
Thank you Thomas & Carmen!!

Best holiday rental ever
We came here from the Dallas area to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It took two flights, one train, and 5+ hours in a rented SUV, and it was worth every minute it took to get here. Walking through the door that first day, my husband shouted, "Holy shmoly, this is great!" It really was.
There were no real surprises arriving at Nollur Farm. The place is as advertised -- breathtaking views of the fjord and mountains, impeccable decor, spacious rooms, high-quality appliances. The location is perfect -- twenty minutes from Iceland's second-largest city (Akureyri is lovely), perched near the head of Eyjafjord, just far enough from the lights to get a really good showing of the Aurora Borealis (twice!). Nollur is within easy driving distance of numerous interesting places. My husband, a geologist by training, was in heaven. And the fact that we were in the off season made it even better -- no fighting for a good view with other tourists, etc.
But our main objective coming here was to get away from it all -- the people, the heat, the traffic, the noise. We accomplished all of that and more. The dramatic beauty of this place, the utter silence, the solitude left us rested and wanting more. We travel a lot. I can't remember ever being this completely satisfied with a holiday, and it all started with this incredible rental. We'll be back in the next year, the only uncertainty is whether or not to bring the kids!

Fantastisches Appartment!

Tranquil beauty in northern Iceland
For one week in late July,we enjoyed the spacious, tranquil apartment “Fjnoska,” really more of a house to ourselves since it is the only living space in this structure at Nollur Farm. With an expansive view over the fjord, a well equipped kitchen, superfast wifi (and computer with two screens provided), we had a truly peaceful stay. Grenevik, a small fishing town nearby, has a grocery with fine local produce, cheese, eggs, everything we needed for our kitchen. Polarhestar farm just up the road is a great place for horseback riding trips. There are many hikes possible in the area—long and short, steep and flat, well-marked and “let’s get lost again.” We picked blueberries, gathered some yarrow and chamomile for tea, enjoyed crossing paths with ewes and their lambs, wading streams and tramping across snow fields even in late July. Thomas was an outstanding host and informant about everything from birdlfe to sheep raising, waterfalls to Viking re-enactments. He takes very seriously the comfort of his visitors, answering all our questions with as much patience as expertise, right down to the mechanics of the geothermal water that fills his hot pots and heats his guest houses. This was one of our very most memorable and restful vacations ever. We highly recommend Nollur Farm to anyone wanting a country stay in Iceland.
