Surrounded by beautiful farmland, plan your vacation at this cottage fifteen minutes from downtown Asheville. This two bedroom/two bathroom house was built to accommodate people with disabilities. Even if you don't need the additional support, this home is a lovely place to rest, relax and rejuvenate. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this cottage lies in a family estate that spans 17 acres. You will be amazed by the sounds of a small family farm (cows, chickens, goats, and a nearby pet turkey) and astonished by the nightly firefly/star-filled sky. Meanwhile, there are many attractions, like hiking and waterfalls, kayaking or tubing, skiing or snowboarding, or the Biltmore estate, or city life in Asheville, all so close by. Guests will have space and privacy, but the host is nearby should a need arise. A special bonus is a nursery with full-sized crib in one of the huge walk-in closets. The kitchen is fully equipped, as well as having a washer/dryer room. WiFi is provided with a smart TV and DVD player. For added pleasure, there is a large selection of books, puzzles, movies, and games. Enjoy walks in the quiet neighborhood when not exploring the many, many attractions in nearby Asheville, Maggie's Valley, Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah National Forest, and more. In the cooler months, curl up next to the fireplace and relax. In the warmer months, enjoy both a covered front and a back porch with seating. Accommodations include two queen beds plus a queen futon for extra sleeping. Linens and towels are included for convenience. This Tranquil Mountain Cottage is truly a neat, comfortable and relaxing home close to so many other adventures.

We've stayed at several different rental properties in the Asheville area, and this is easily one of our favorites - it feels like staying at the home of a friend, not a hotel or a condo. If you want cookie-cutter, recently-flipped amd all-grey color scheme, this place is NOT for you. If you're looking for quiet comfort, a HOME with character, and a short easy drive to any necessity, then this is your spot! (If I could add anything to my wishlist, it would be a few additional pots and pans and cooking equipment, but who goes to Asheville to eat at home, you might ask!)

We came to the area to enjoy the fall color, but we needed to find a place that was completely accessible to my husband, who is mobility challenged. This house completely met out needs; but even if that had not been a necessity for us, we would have thoroughly enjoyed it’s quiet and peaceful location. It will be our go-to place if we are ever in the area again.

We enjoyed our stay. The house is very clean, cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and enjoy the fall colors. Seeing the animals was a highlight also. Elaine is a tremendous and caring hostess. We enjoyed getting to meet and talk with you Elaine. We highly recommend this rental. If we are ever in the area again this will be our choice.

We had friends in from out of town, and had one night stay at Elaine’s immaculately clean home. It has everything we needed, plus it was only 20 min away from most things we wanted to do in Asheville. We will stay here again.

Ms. Sutton was very helpful with our stay. We and our dog had lots of fun checking on the fenced goats, cows, chickens. Wonderful local restaurants, access to Asheville highlights, Blue Ridge walks, views.

A lovely home - suited two grandparents and 6 yr old grandson perfectly. Could have easily had 2 more adults or another child or two space-wise. So very clean, beautiful setting, friendly neighborhood. Sitting on the front porch as the day cooled into evening was a favorite part of our stay. Stellar!

The property was exactly as shown on the VRBO site. We got in later than expected and Elaine was so nice and came over to help us get into lock box. My husband is in a wheelchair and this home was very accessible for him. The accessible shower was perfect. We had difficulty with space around commode but was able to work around. Thank you Elaine for sharing your lovely home. We highly recommend this home for people with mobility issues!

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely ranch house in Candler NC. The house sits on a large property, with farmlands and pastures around it. The house was very clean and was just as described. The host was very nice and very responsive when we contracted her with a few questions. The house is very conveniently located just west of West Asheville a few miles off I-40 We certainly hope to stay there again when we visit our daughter in Asheville.

This home is extremely clean. It is close to Biltmore, shopping, and all of the great things Asheville offers but this home is in the peaceful countryside. The house is well stocked and you will feel at home. We were comfortable and found the property to be an excellent value. The hosts are accommodating and the neighbors are friendly (including the farm animals)! We look forward to visiting again!

Property is very clean, well organized with lots of extras to make the stay enjoyable for the whole family. Entry was easy and there is a spacious yard to enjoy with beautiful mountain views. Fantastic stay, fantastic host. Super close to local grocery market and to all things Ashville (everything was 20 min or less from the house). Loved the accessibility features and the closet was big enough for the crib and our pack n play for our infant. Perfect location and home.

We had a lovely stay at this little cottage. It accommodated my family of 6 very comfortably, and the nursery room with a crib was a very nice touch. My kids loved seeing the animals in the fields and running around in the yard. It was a wonderful trip!

If you're looking for a peaceful, comfortable stay that is convenient to many western NC places to see and things to do, this is your house! We loved the animals on property (especially the goats!) and my mom appreciated the accessibility features. The futon was surprisingly comfortable as a bed. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful. We hope to visit again!

This was my first time trying a vacation rental with VRBO. Honestly I was a little worried about what to expect. To my great surprise, (and relief) the house was exactly as it appeared in the listing. It's so very difficult to find vacation spots that are handicapped accessible and this cottage met our needs in every way. The owners provided every possible item we would need and the animals in back added to the fun. I would definitely recommend this cottage for any travelers and especially for someone with special needs. Thanks!

I can't say enough great things about this property. The host is extremely responsive, the house is in a gorgeous location in a small, quiet neighborhood with large land parcels that is perfect for walking the dogs, but close to Asheville. We loved watching the goats, and Tammy the longhorn from the back porch. The kitchen has everything you need for simple meals, the beds were comfortable and the host had reasonable expectations. It was the perfect cozy size for 2 adult couples and our 2 large dogs. It is exactly as advertised. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband, mom, dog, and I stayed two nights over Mother's Day weekend. We are so glad to have found this affordable, comfortable and convenient, pet friendly, and accessible cottage. Our rescue dog is reactive, so staying in a hotel can be stressful. This tranquil location was just perfect for him; and my elderly mother appreciated the accessible features.
