Handcrafted New England Cape, Private Grounds, Perfect Family Retreat, Worc10min
About this house rental
Situated in Middlesex County, this lovely house for $451 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Sarah’s Haven is a Nelson Phipps beautifully handcrafted Cape in the heart of Massachusetts built in 1953 from the lumber milled from the land. All the walls are original pine board walls, handcrafted cabinetry, and red oak floors. It has nine rooms, five bedrooms, and can sleep 10-11. Sarah’s Haven sits on over four acres of pristine privacy overlooking it’s own pond. Daffodils, irises, and lilies abound in the spring, while azaleas, butterfly bushes, orange blossoms, and trumpet vines follow all summer. Bask in the summer warmth or swing on the rope swing, hike trails, or just enjoy the tranquility and natural beauty surrounding this home. Huge picture windows look out over the pond and the acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. It's the perfect hide-a-way for the whole family. All this is within ten minutes of downtown Worcester attractions: theaters, colleges, medical facilities, DCU events, and museums.

Perfect getaway for our group. Beautiful property

Very rustic, but we had the sleeping arrangements required. The kitchen was also stocked with enough cookware. Downside was only one shower.

The house and property were better than we could have imagined - the pictures don't do it justice! It is the perfect location for a family weekend. The living room and kitchen are big and open and the bedrooms are HUGE. Everyone had their own individual space but could also comfortably gather together.
The property was stunning. It felt very peaceful to sit in the living room looking out the large picture window to the pond and fall trees.
We will absolutely keep this house in mind for future stays in the area!

This old home is charming and met our needs well. The living room/dining room/kitchen space was great for our party of 6. Tho only drawback is the shortage of restrooms, primarily having only one shower. While there are 3 toilets, one doesn’t even have a door. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay for a few days.

Great old house. Full of character. Everything hand crafted out of wood. Very comfortable for my family of six. Nice location. Fantastic for a disc golf themed vacation.

We had a great time. This house is in a great location as is very clean with all of the amenities needed for a nice stay.

Charming, well maintained cape. Beautiful wood and rustic charm throughout. Feels remote but just a stone's throw from the center of town. Perfect for a laid back gathering of family and/or friends. We hope to come back.

My family traveled to Massachusetts from Hawaii to drop my daughter off to college. We chose this home for its spaciousness and rooms that could accommodate our family. The house was very clean. The rustic, cabin like atmosphere was enjoyable by all. The beds were comfortable to sleep in. The house was located near many restaurants in the Worcester area. There were no problems during the duration of our stay. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

We loved this rental. Totally charming cosy cabin. Lots of bedrooms. An absolutely beautiful setting in the tall trees. Our 3 and 7 year old adored the rope swing. Knotty pine walls, charming built ins and family art. One of our favorite rentals ever.

Great communication through the process, the location of the house is amazing and the land it’s on is beautiful. Would come back anytime.

Wonderful house! Bedrooms were great! Location was awesome! Very calm and peaceful!
Bring your own water, though, because the house water smells like sulfur. Unless you're used to that, then no worries!

Adorable home on a beautiful property! Super close for some the nations best disc golf courses! Will definitely stay again!!!

In town for a college graduation. The place was great. 15 minutes from where we needed to be all weekend! Very clean. Easy access.

The home is quaint and roomy. The grounds are beautiful and lovely. The house is stocked with absolutely everything you may need during your stay. It was a wonderful home away from home!

We had family from age 21-85 together for our son's graduation from university. This amazing homestead had us all feeling right at home, and we loved all the hand-built features. The layout had space for gathering everyone together, but also allowed for alone time when needed. The trees embraced the house, and bunnies and birds romped on the lawns. I can't imagine a better location!

Sarah's Haven is a delightfully unusual house with solid wood staircases, surprise rooms around every corner, and a peaceful woodsy landscape. The house is well-equipped with dishes, towels, etc. The only drawback is that the house has only one shower. But there are two additional toilets so it works.
This was our second stay at the house and we hope to stay again in the future.

Family came down from new Hampshire and we came from Worcester England for a Xmas celebration. The house was just right and everything was available. We had a great time and will consider coming back perhaps when it's a little warmer. All in all a great time.

We gathered for a short beautiful weekend as our wedding venue was nearby and we needed a “home base.” This was the PERFECT home base - although we really only had time to sleep there, it was a beautiful location, beautiful house, and lots of character. It was unseasonably warm and we even got to play some wiffle ball in the backyard before leaving. Would recommend and stay again!

My group of 9 rented this amazing property as we would be playing pyramids and maple hill. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Walking distance to Pyramids, and less than 4 minutes to Maple hill. Place accommodated everyone very nicely! Would recommend this place to everyone!

This was a 3-generation family vacation to explore neighborhoods where we grew up and visit places where we went to when we lived here 30+ years ago. It was fun re-visiting the Brookfield Orchard, the Christmas Barn and going to Hotdog Annies again.

Sara's Haven is a wonderful place to stay. The house is in a great location and so peaceful with the pond with the foliage (just beginning to change) view right outside your window.. This charming house had plenty of room for everyone. Would recommend this beautiful property! It was also nice that for a small fee we were able to check in earlier. If you want a relaxing place to stay, this is it.

The house was beautiful. We walked the path around the Disc Course on Sunday before the wedding and what a delightful walk it was. The bedrooms were perfect - we only used thress of the five bedrooms upstairs - the double bed was a little squeaky but tolerable. It was in the perfect location to our daughter's house and the wedding venue. The house was well stocked with linens, soap and all paper products. The price was reasonable and the property manager was amazing and let us check in early!! We'd definitely refer this place to our friends and family.

I travel up the entire east coast to play the number one rated disc golf course in the USA. I couldn't imagine how close this place is to all of the disc golf action you could possibly ask for. It's quiet, so if you're looking to be loud it's not for you. Enjoy this small piece of heaven.

I would highly recommend this house. There was just something about it that brought us all back to our childhoods.

We so enjoyed our stay this weekend. The home is clean and well loved. And unlike many places it feels like a family home with games & cake pans & blankets.
The view is absolutely unbelievable. So magical and calming. My spouse took photos with an old fashioned camera and could not get over the amount of *photo worthy* moments.
This is a special property and anyone who stays here would be so happy. It was such an amazing place to take a break. We hope to be back.

Girls Weekend
I had a girls weekend with some friends that was long overdue. The house is well equipped with kitchen, dishes and blankets. The house has a great yard and I’m hoping to come back in the fall with my two boys. I think they would have a blast running around.

Rope swing takes the win!
The rope swing set against a beautiful green backdrop was perfect for our "big" kids to giggle like "little" kids. :)

I've found a lot of excellent lodging through VRBO, but Sarah's Haven was a true gem. If you are searching for a unique, spacious and comfortable home -- crafted with immense care -- on a property that will exceed your wildest expectations, this is the house for you. The shower is rustic, but fine. The location (15 minute drive from downtown Worcester) was perfect for a graduation weekend, and the home provided ample space for all members of the family to stretch out and relax during down time. My morning walk through the woods, coffee in hand, was a magical way to start each day. I hope to be lucky enough to return one day.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sarah’s Haven. This home was so quaint and comfortable and had everything and more we could have needed for our small family celebration of our son’s graduation from Clark. We would recommend this to everyone and hope to return.
