Location and parking outside.
Easy access and code provided to come and go.
Bunk bed was not particularly safe and ladder did not securely attach. Had to move mattress to floor for safety.
Lots of clutter and personal possessions present.

The apartment was easy to find from the instructions given by the host. It is functional and clean. The location was superb; a few minutes walk from the Town Square and Menin gate. It was also ideal for visiting the WW1 Battlefields in and around the Ypres Salient. There was free parking, Minneplein, a few minutes walk from the apartment but also a 3hr parking permit to use for offloading and loading your car. The local information provided by the host was very helpful, we definitely visited some of the restaurants and bars recommended but also found some of our own. The best Belgian chips were from Fritterie De Leet which was a few minutes walk across the park from the apartment. We would happily stay at this apartment again. it gave us the feel of what it is like to live in Ypres rather than just stay in a hotel.
It could have done with a few more sharp cutting knives in the kitchen and being English, a tea pot. Also a few pot plants in the courtyard would make it more attractive to sit out in with a beer than just white walls. Also, the food waste bin needed to be emptied; we couldn't use it as it was already full.

Great location - if it was on the other side of the street you'd be looking right onto the cathedral. Easy to find and access, well equipped kitchenette.
The hosts left a timed permit for the parking immediately outside for us - as far as we could tell that is valid for a maximum of 3 hours at a time, which is plenty for loading and unloading, and there is unlimited time free parking just a few minutes away. (We may have misunderstood the parking situation - the free area was convenient enough that we didn't feel the need to clarify the details)
The weather was humid when we stayed, and the lack of openable windows in front meant we couldn't get air moving through. A small desktop fan would have made a huge difference.
We were there during a rainy period right after a major heatwave, and it was only a minor issue.

We came to Ieper from Brussels for a 3N 4D vacation.
This was clearly the worst experience I have had till date in Belgium , via Airbnb or booking.com.
I just don’t understand how is booking.com allowing such a place for tourists to stay?
I was travelling with my 15 month old child + parents. It was clearly not cleaned at all and the floor was full of dirt. I couldn’t even let my child sit on the floor and play.
The vessels were all so old and dirty.
We (4 adults & 1 child) survived using 1 pot. The sponge to clean the vessels were greasing .. so in an attempt to clean the cutlery’s and pots , we ended up with greasy hands.
The whole house + linen had a very musty smell. We didn’t sleep well at all. I covered my face with my shawl and slept as the smell from the mattress + linen was so musty.
On the second night my child developed wheezing and a terrible cough cause of the dusty\ musty linen. It got so bad that we left the place at 2 am and drove away to Brussels , straight to the ER as we didn’t want to take any change. Clearly the environment at the stay was dusty, and it made us miserable.
This is not a 2 bedroom stay. Infact there’s a bed as soon as you enter the stay.
The baby bed also provided was in such a miserable state with a mattress that clearly was some random sofa cushion. I’m shocked.
I would not recommend this place to anyone especially for people with asthma, wheezing issues , or allergies to dust etc.
Im sorry but this dump of a place should be banned from booking.com.

Good location but we could not stay due to other issues with the property and ended up booking into a hotel.
it was not clean but the worst thing was the smell. There is an open cellar leading from the kitchen area which has damp and mould. it was so bad we couldn’t stay and booked into a hotel - very disappointed.

I was able to find a telephone number and obtain the door code from the owner. My only issue would be that I didn't already have this before my arrival. Needs to be made clearer. Other than that the accomodation was good.
Provide information re access to property more clearly and prior to fate of arrival.

The location is brilliant, and the apartment was lovely and warm.
Poor on cleaning, needs some odd jobs doing we unplugged a lamp in the bedroom and all the casing came off. Was ok for what we paid

Location was excellent, very close to city centre.
The apartment smelt musty and of gas. The hot water was not working, but very quickly sorted. The kitchen equipment didn't seem very clean.

The apartment was very cute and well decorated. It was a great size, very large. There were plenty of towels and a good kitchen, There was a nice outdoor space and plenty of parking nearby. Very close to stores and restaurants.
The house could have been a little cleaner, there was dust and dirt in corners and the shower did not drain well. But it did not bother us too much. The bunk bed above the double bed was hard to reach because of the ladder placement (not actually attached to the bed frame, so my younger child was scared to sleep up there, and I was afraid she might fall.) Though it might not look as nice, I would suggest maybe moving the loft bed into the main apartment area somewhere so that the ladder can be screwed into the frame at the right location. For us, it was no problem for our kids to sleep together in the extra bed, however.

Check in was very easy. Parking was plentiful. Very close to centre, a couple minutes on foot. Spacious accommodation with plenty of seating, table space, sleeping space, etc. Good value for the price.
· I would stay again however, it all needs a bit of updating. Only a few bulbs/ light fixtures were functional making the space a bit dark. There are a lot of unfinished areas where things are being stowed away. A baby gate at the top of a very steep staircase down to what I assume is a cellar... unfortunately the gate doesn’t lock at all. Not sure what the point is in it being there as pullling it across the opening is completely useless. The patio is very bare, not somewhere you would particularly want to be, but good for smoking or drying your clothes on the line. There are 2 very tall, wobbly,bookshelves on top of another piece of furniture that are stacked heavily with books and old stereo equipment. It all seems quite precarious, it made me very nervous with my toddler. It’s a good accommodation for a family based on price and space but I would be wary if you have a toddler due to the steep steps and the book shelves.
