We asked to change rooms as the first room did not meet our expectations. The reception staff upgraded us free of charge to a superior sea view room. The view from our room on the fifth floor was spectacular.
The hotel staff were all very helpful.
The pool areas are great . We were there at the start of April so the pool was still a bit "Fresh" but that was to be expected.
The food was as expected for a buffet style and for the amount we paid.
The hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy the traditional fishing village, stunning beaches via the small ferry, access to the natural wet land walks and the purpose built small commercial centre on it's doorstep with a variety of restaurants, bars and boutique shops.

Location, spectacular views, very friendly staff.
Typical 2000' worn out hotel with lack of maintenance. Low quality food (buffet style dinner).
The room was missing basic items like a kettle, glasses tea/coffee. TV remote was not working.
Cold water in the indoor pool. Broken elevators.

excellent buffet breakfast with a vast array of choices
adult only "quiet pool' is great
It can be very busy and very noisy around the main pool as a result of all the activities organised by staff.
The area's back from the pool towards the hotel can get quite scruffy and the sunloungers are a bit tired and I need or replacement/repair
The hotel has additional charges to use the in-room safe and to park a. Given the price of the rooms this feels like a rip-pff and not what most other hotels of this rating would do.
There is no happy-hour drinks price, (which explains why the hotel bar is often empty until very late in the evening
The buffet has a great selection but it's repetitiive if you're there for a week

Location is great. Some very good facilities and cleanliness
Overcrowded in the pool. Very sufferable around the main pool. Almost always loud music at pool. Some of us want to be with our child but also some rest…

the sea view and the breakfast
the room was €265, there was no bottled water in the room. not good as not recommended to clean teeth with water from the tap. Loud entertainment just outside our room until midnight.

This is a huge hotel that we visited off season. The terraces of many sun loungers that were empty in October certainly made me sure I wouldn't want to visit in the height of summer season! But for us it was fantastic. The hotel is huge. The pool and surrounding area was lovely. Pool cold so that kept it quiet! Lovely treat on our first night with a gorgeous sunset and free glass of bubbles from the view point - a nice touch! Room was spacious and we had one next door for our kids. Well appointed, had everything we needed. Staff were lovely - spoke many languages and always smiling and happy to help. There was a short walk down to the local village El Rompido that had some nice shops and some nice restaurants that we used all the time. Lovely grounds of the hotel with games for the kids. Got the ferry from the jetty to the beach using the free token that the hotel gave us. Beach was nice, long and empty and worth visiting. Nice bars and sitting out areas to relax. The hotel organised a transfer from Seville to the hotel which was great of them.
There were a few maintenance issues - bannister handrails broken - that could have actually caused a nasty injury. We got a way with it but came close a couple of times. Wouldn't want anyone to have to sue the hotel so hope they get them sorted this winter. We travelled from Seville to El Rompido - this was a long, expensive journey. We then had to get to Lisbon, which was a combination of taxi and bus and hours on the road. This was of our own making - not the fault of the hotel. But realistically, if you don't have a car then this is a tricky hotel to get to. But the location next to El Rompido is lovely.

Great room (5073) with view over pool and beyond. lovely green areas around pool with terraces for sun beds. Ate dinner in bar which was very goody. reasonably priced parking (€7) and hotel very well kept with beautiful setting and grounds
Nothing really, although lack of beach on the doorstep may deter some, although you get tickets for the boat which takes you to the beach

Beds are very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Pool was very clean and plenty of sunbeds to relax
No signposting for a very complex layout. We struggle to find the room until we realised there are two lifts.

The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and the views were fantastic.
There was nothing to dislike.
Tried to think of something we didn't like but there wasn't anything we could fault it with.

the building and the outdoor facilities are very nice prepared and good maintained! breakfast was great and the stuff I the restaurant very nice! The village is just a few walking minutes away and offers slot of very nice restaurants! a Supermarkt is Right next door to the hotel.
the pool was very cold! we were not able to use it in September even though the weather was very nice. Also the indoor pool is not very warm.
on our leaving day we were not able to attend the breakfast- early check out - the offered Picknick was disappointing…
the live music was very loud an played until midnight…it was impossible to sleep for our toddler. A Family without small kids may would have enjoyed the music!
the mini club (fuerte club) was closed on all three days of our stay…would have been nice to know in advance…

It’s a beautiful property in a beautiful village. The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was ample, all the staff were great.
The wifi in our room didn’t work for most of our trip and as we had come at the end of the season, on some occasions things were closed unexpectedly

staff were lovely
location
views
pool and pool area
lots of sun loungers available
clean
great activities for kids
beds only moderately comfortable, pillows uncomfortable
dated bathroom with bizarre access to turn shower on around a fixed glass door- very easy to slip!
bathroom light and fan didn’t work
food at the buffet was mediocre at best
drinks (even soft drinks and water) excluded from half board, even at dinner, which seems greedy
parking €7/day (they don’t tell you there is free parking just around the corner!)
the in house photo team- felt like a con! took loads of photos of my son and I by the pool, then kept promising him this book over the next few days, which of course was very exciting for a five year old! turns out the book was €75 for ten small photos, no digital copies, and overly photoshopped- but the way they present it to the kids was as a “done deal” so the parents either have to stump up the money or disappoint their children who have been promised something for five days! felt a bit conned. totally outrageously expensive!
