It was perfect for a one night stay

The location is very good, right in the old town. I arrived too late for the check in but there was no problem with getting to my room thanks to the lock boxes system and perfect communication with the stuff.

Nicely decorated, quiet, clean and dog friendly.

Located down a quiet side street. We like the Moroccan style of the interior - lots of blue and white with starry floor tiles and lanterns.

Unfortunately there were only 2 rooms left at the time we booked, and these were on the top (3rd) floor. We went for it despite knowing that I might struggle as I have a spinal problem and a replacement knee (!!) but it did turn out to be too much for me, and the room was quite small because it was at the top of the hotel. Will definitely go again though if there is a bigger room on the ground or first floor. I liked the atmosphere and my little chihuahua Dolly was made very welcome 😊

Very good

Quirky and full of character. Very good location. Great for a short stay. Interesting view over the roof tops to Africa. Atmospheric at night.

Bit tired in places. Shower didn't stay in one place and shower screen not quite waterproof so ended up with water all over the floor. Could do with extra pillows.

Central in old town, restaurants and shops 1 min walk.

I was on top floor, reception only open a few hrs, had all keypad instructions but hard going up so many narrow stairs with my bag. no lift. Wish I had been on first floor.

Easy location, friendly staff and good quality rooms. I would happily stay here again!

The staff were very friendly and left the keys in a convenient place for us to pick up. Getting in touch with the staff was very easy with quick responses to any questions I had. Excellent English as well for any travelers that speak the language.

Authentic Tarfia style apartment that will make you feel right at home

Have stayed before in hotels in the centre of Tarifa but enjoyed the freedom of an apartment more. Great location, right in the centre of town. Close to all activity, yet quiet enough to get some good sleep. It comes with all necessary luxury like a decent shower, well equipped kitchen and good beds. It has great ventilation, so no need for airconditioning. It has the atmosphere of a local house and it makes you feel home away from home.

No AC and it is impossible to sleep with the windows open because the wind is so strong that makes everything rattle! Basically it is a huge problem.

place is magnificent, owners created great atmosphere with the design and lured candela on the stairs.

I liked the design, the location.

seems like someone before me took the blanket to the sand beach, so I had sand in my bed all the time

Perfect short trip to experience Tarifa…

Location is perfect… in the middle of the old town.. close to Restaurants, shops & bars and only 5 min walk to the beach… check in process was great… the key lock system was totally efficient

Only one small criticism… would suggest 2 pillows rather than the one long one (which I know is very Spanish) but not always an easy sleeping experience with your partner 😂

Great small hotel in a good location. Lovely staff.

Great location on a quiet lane but close to everything. The host/Manager Kadri was fantastic, friendly and helpful. We took our dog and they were good with him.

When we stayed it was really hot which i know is not normal but something that would really help is fitting ceiling fans.

In the description of the room that you had booked it is clearly written: Double Room with Two Single Beds (Facilities: Upper floors accessible by stairs only). Nowhere does it say there are 40 steps, AN incredibly narrow corridor, to a tiny room. -Nowhere does it say this RHF Also you were offered a possibility of changing to another room in a lower floor next day, but you didn´t even bother to come to the reception and consider this option. Seems that you were not that dissatisfied with your room after all. You offered me to change room three times in 1 week. - Hardly comfortable i'd say RHF In our 20 years of experience in running this hostel in Tarifa we haven't had a situation like this before: a sporty and fit young kitesurfer complaining about having to walk the stairs to the third floor incapable of recognizing he just didn´t read carefully the details about the room he was going to book. - Are you like Ryanair where if people don't read the small print you nail them? Hahaha RHF Also it is the first time in 20 years that a client is bombarding us with threatening and insulting messages weeks after his stay using different communication channels. - Reviews are the only way to hold you people to account. Excellent place to stay in Old part of Tarifa

Kadri was exceptionally kind and helpful, including allowing me to leave baggage stored, after official check out time. The accommodation was perfect. Lovely sunny room, with lots of ventilation via windows, comfortable bed, fridge, places to stairs clothes and baggage, TV, good quality WiFi, good shower etc. The room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Location excellent, with cafes and restaurants in very close proximity. Tarifa is a small, but beautiful place, and La Estrella is perfectly situated in the old town, for sight-seeing and enjoying the local atmosphere. I strongly recommend it.

I liked everything. For me the price point was perhaps a little high, but not really in comparison to other places in the area, and the fact it is peak season. However, it would make it personally difficult for me personally for me to stay multiple nights, but I was very happy with the accommodation.

For us (and dogs) it was a perfect, inexpensive stay for one night to enjoy an evening in Tarifa.

Amazing location in Old Town Tarifa just near the main hub of bars and restaurants near the church The room was extremely tastefully decorated in white and blue and spotlessly clean with everything you need including small fridge, shampoo, even dog bowl and beds for our hounds! Kadri was lovely and welcoming.

Natural air conditioning, as in open windows, which was a little noisy at 02.30 in the morning when a random group stopped for a loud chat, even though it's a small side street. I'm sure fans are provided when it's hotter in the summer!
