About this house rental

Nestled in North Harmony, this lovely house for $273 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Located on the Goose creek wildlife preserve in Loomis Bay this is truly the sweet spot on Chautauqua lake. We are close to all the major attractions on the lake and minutes from the beautiful town of Lakewood and the Jamestown Comedy Center. We have a 40 ft dock with direct access to the lake with 3 kayaks to use. This is the perfect place to sit back and unwind in this natural paradise on the lake minutes away from Chautauqua counties major attractions. This is a 4 season 3-bedroom house that will comfortably sleep 8, there is room for up to 3 cars (commercial vehicles and trailers can park at Loomis bay park next door) . We allow pets at a 50/stay per pet no more than 2. This is a fully furnished home with Central heat and Air Conditioning. It has a full-size washer and dryer, and fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher. We have high speed internet and a Roku TV with Netflix, Amazon prime, Disney Plus, and Apple TV. I also take COVID seriously here and I have installed an air cleaning system that will remove pollen and all viruses including COVID 19 from the heating and cooling system. We are 10 minutes from Lakewood / Jamestown, the biggest city in the county so you'll have lots of restaurants, a mall, the comedy center in Jamestown and other entertainment options. The Harbor hotel, Wegmans and Walmart are very close by for your convenience. There are 3 Kayaks available to use. You are 15 minutes from the Chautauqua Institute and 10 minutes from Bemus point. We have a dock that is 40 ft long that you can park your boat and jet skis on (low draft only). There is a fire pit and seating for 4. There is an enclosed heated porch for relaxing and enjoying the wildlife. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy everything Chautauqua lake has to offer!

Booking was as advertised. Nice location, just up the creek from the lake. Close to anything you might need, but out of the way. Quiet, dead end street. Would stay here again.

As a season traveler I expect the houses I rent to be clean and have proper facilities. In this house it needed a good cleaning and update. The stove and grill were not cleaned and we were not able to use them. In the hot tub the water was cloudy and we felt that it was not safe to use. The major problem was the lack of water in the house. You dont expect to have to wait to use water in the house. The screen doors were hard to open, there were some holes in the walls and some of the curtain rods and blinds were broken. Upon arriving we had to wait for over an hour to sit outside while someone cut the grass. We were also a little disappointed at the location, as we thought the house was located on the lake and it was not. We were also a little offended by the envelope by the cleaning staff for a tip. Especially, since the house was not clean. We would not rent this house again.

We had a nice time staying here at Goose Creek. We saw a river otter fishing for his dinner and a gray Heron fly by, Nice! The cottage is clean and well appointed with kitchen things you may need. I didn’t se any towels when we arrived and went to Walmart and bought some as I hadn’t brought any. Soon as we got back my husband found some in the laundry room closet 😖. The cottage is close to lots of eateries and a short drive to Jamestown and the National Comedy Museum. We enjoyed our stay and would rent again. The only trouble we had was with the Roku TV didn’t want to work well, at night when relaxing (it was raining) I wanted to watch a movie on Netflix but it kept stopping then going back to the Home Screen both nights we were there. I eventually gave up and watch on my Kindle tablet. Thanks to Dan and Melinda for sharing their wonderful cottage. Cheers!

Wonderful property with excellent access on Goose Creek and view into the refuge where we saw deer, beaver, and geese. Very clean inside with nice size bedrooms and renovated kitchen. Was wonderfully set up and appreciate the little details like inside board games if it rained, soap and snacks! Clean hot tub and 3 kayaks was a really nice feature. Thank you so much for letting us stay there!! Will return.

The location was beautiful. Moments away from the lake with a river inlet right behind the home. The wildlife viewings were incredible. The weather for the weekend we stayed wasn’t the best. Raining and cold, but being able to sit out on the enclosed porch and view everything was a blessing. I think the home has been going through some updating. The improvements are very nice. We’re hoping to stay there again when the restorations have been completed and the weather is warmer. Every amenity you could ever need was there. I could’ve packed a lot less, but I’ve never stayed anywhere where absolutely “everything” you needed was included. Kudos to whoever keeps track of the supplies, they’re doing a great job. Our only complaint would be the road leading to the house. Major potholes are everywhere so be careful. We drove in at night so it was a bit challenging to try to avoid them all.

My Family truly enjoyed our stay. Though there was some issues related to the horrible storm and below 0 temperatures, Dan responded quickly and had someone there to work on the problem right away. The neighbor he sent was a sweet older gentleman and was great. We had the room we needed for everyone, and truly had a great family weekend for Christmas.

We were very pleased with the location, cleanliness and comfortable waterfront home. Dan was a welcoming and very responsive host. Chautauqua lake is gorgeous. Love the area and a lovely balance of a relaxing environment with all the shops you need within just a few miles. We will be back!

We had a great experience staying at this home! It was VERY WELL stocked with ANYthing you could possibly need! And Dan, the property manager, responded very promptly every single time I had a question or issue. The boat rental was the best part. Only able to get on the lake one day but my elderly parents enjoyed it tremendously. And we caught all of our fish right from the dock at the house which my 3 year old LOVED! Would highly recommend!

This was a great place to stay if you're fishing Chautauqua Lake. Easy access to the south basin and with a fantastic view of the creek. Little kids will love catching bluegill and perch right from the dock. Couldn't have had a better place to stay for the money. Thanks for providing a great home for the week.

Great house. Clean and quiet. Enclosed porch was comfortable. Loved sitting there to watch boats and kayaks go by. In case you forgot your toothbrush or toothpaste, bandaids etc it was there. We have been to plenty of rentals in OBX and never had that. Having boat was our best part here. Thank you Dan😍 We all loved our time there. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Dan's place. The house was comfortable, clean and very inviting. The back sunroom overlooking the water was our favorite place to hang out. The kids enjoyed the kayaks (as well as the parents) and renting the boat for was fantastic! We will definitely come back in the future.

The property was adorable and convenient with ample parking in a nice neighborhood! We really enjoyed sitting in the front deck and seeing all the wildlife and fishing every morning! It was especially convenient being able to bring our dog and to rent the pontoon boat and enjoy the lake! I loved being able to walk our dog around the neighborhood every morning and night.

Had a great time at this property, it is next to a creek that leads into the lake and across from a wildlife preserve so we saw lots of animals. One day, we had an Amish buggy and horse parked next door while they fished off the dock. The neighbor, Jerry was very friendly and helpful with any questions. House was well stocked and was perfect for our needs.

The place was as described and cute overall. There were some issues with the place itself due to snow and structural problems that caused some troubles but the property owner was very responsive and did his best to give instructions for navigating the issues.

Very nice house. Neighbors were so very friendly. Husband loved getting up each morning and going outside the backdoor to the dock and fishing. There were 5 of us. 4 adults and a 12 year old. Perfect size house for that size.
