I reached out to Renee when we were experiencing frozen water pipes at home. We needed a place to stay while work was being done at our home. Renee was quick to respond, and was very flexible with our schedule. We were very happy with our stay at this property with its grand feeling, and all the necessities that were provided. It made us feel at home, and it helped make our stressful situation at our home more bearable. Thank you Renee for your hospitality and kindness.

We enjoyed our stay. Clean with lots of room. Had a slight issue with the dishwasher & BBQ not out to use. So enjoyed the wildlife we saw in the back yard. Easy to find and ample parking.

Overall the stay was good. Enjoyed the view and privacy and loved the high ceilings. The full sized washer and dryer in a laundry room was nice. Communication was poor at first. I had requested the info for how to access the property twice with in 24hrs of our stay and still hadn’t received the info. I was able to get the code after I called the host. The floor plan of the property was nice and spacious. We found it had mostly everything we needed. The only complaint in how it was stocked was there was only one hand towel but it is a 3 bath property. The sheets were worn enough to be uncomfortable but the host said she was planning to replace them. The bed we used was otherwise comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and was it was great to have the big island. The trash cabinet was somewhat annoying as it rubbed against the refrigerator every time it was opened. The few complaints I have were absolutely out weighed with the good of the property though. The spacious layout was really wonderful.

Wonderful place for a group to stay, by being set up with great gathering space, bit also with 3 fill baths, gave everyone their personal space. Wonderful Alaska back yard view to enjoy from large upper deck. Owners were very accommodating...

We were very happy with the home and its location. Hubby was on his 4th salmon fishing trip to AK, I saw this house and said if we rent this, I'll come and cook for you and your friends. Turned out we had 2 fishing and 3 tourists. Loved having the freezer for the salmon and Renee was great about all kinds of info and super welcoming. Thanks so much!

Beautiful Place
If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful place to experience the beauty of Alaska, this is the place for you. Our party consisted of three couples and there was more than enough room for us to have a bit of privacy if we needed it. We especially loved the large kitchen and the deck.

We stayed at this great house for a family getaway for a total of 8 adults and one infant. We all enjoyed our stay. We came to town for a wedding and fishing and this location was perfect. It was a very quite location with some local wildlife life. We had a daily visit by a moose and her twins.

Family Vacation
Beautiful home with open plan ideal for larger family or group. Large kitchen - modern, well equipped, and large island to gather around while prepping. Bedrooms are large -beds/pillows extremely comfy. Master and side door access to second story deck overlooking boggy valley. Location is 2 minutes from Fred Meyer but setting is quiet, with feeling being off-grid. Location is ideal for any activity on the Peninsula with easy commutes to Seward, Homer, Hope.
Hosts were fantastic - welcoming, easy to reach and responsive. Home was immaculate and very well appointed. Will definitely book again for a longer stay.
We didn’t see any moose or bear from the deck, but we saw more wildlife in this area than we did in Homer area and Seward area combined.
Morning 1: two bull moose by hwy 3 miles West of Saldotna
Afternoon 1: sow black-bear with 3 cubs smaller than our Yorkie. 30 minutes of film/stills with cubs scurrying up tree several times - Skilac Lake Road (loop) - highlight of trip!!!
Morning 2: cow moose on hwy 3 miles West of Saldotna
Afternoon 2: rented canoes from local roadside outfitter in Sterling - 200.00 for three canoes and flexible/liberal with hours - “call us when you want picked up”
Day 3: Hiked Russian River Falls trail: No bears sighted but went down to falls for great stills of salmon jumping in falls - great hike just over 5 miles with 610 ft of elevation. Black bear roadside driving back to house.
Day 4: Three moose roadside on drive to Homer.
Large, roomy, clean, modern, fantastic kitchen, great location - highly recommend!

Multi-generational home base
We used this house as a home base while visiting the Kenai Peninsula. We had a day at Seward and saw Exit Glacier, we went to Homer, and the the beach in Kenai.
The large island was a great area to set up food to meals and allowed for the over flow seating. The house is pretty sparse in furniture but the views in the back of wildlife are fantastic!

We recently returned to SC from our magnificent trip to the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. We stayed in Soldotna at an awesome VRBO home there. The house was down a gravel road with a wooded area hiding the house from the street. It felt like you were in the wilderness. We saw wild rabbits on the property and moose in the creek area right behind our house! The even better news for us city people is that the town, grocery stores and great restaurants were just a few miles away. There is a great Mexican restaurant and a brewery within two miles of the house. There is also a Fred Meyer grocery store/everything store right down the street from these restaurants. I now get why Alaskans miss their Fred Meyer's stores when they move away! In the nearby town of Kenai, there is a restaurant with tons of taxidermy animals that line the walls. The food is also delicious! The restaurant is named Louie's and is attached to a motel but don't let that fool you. The dinner menu is a little pricey but lunch is very reasonable. We did both while there and neither disappointed us. Staying in Soldotna allows you to experience so many day trips within 1 to 2 hours away. Some, like the white water rafting we did, were only 45 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again. Make sure you loop the Skilack Lake Road near Soldotna if you like to see beautiful views and do a little hiking. This is also a great place to fly fish. Don't miss going to Seward and Homer and all the places in between. Then come home in the evening and relax with plenty of space for all.

Upon initial check in, the property seemed sufficient for our party which included infants and children. We tried bathing our children in the upstairs tub, yet within an hour, the bathtub had leaked causing major flooding in the adjacent downstairs bedroom. The mattress was soaked along with the flooring, walls and ceiling. Our party took about 2 hours cleaning up the mess, and we were not able to use the mattress for 3 nights due to moisture. We discussed the issue with the property host, Renee, and we were told we would receive a 1000 dollar refund. After we checked out, I was expecting the refund, unfortunately I've heard no word from the management. To add insult to injury, the television did not function, the dishwasher leaked, and the tap water has a very strong sulfur stench. After many attempts in contacting the host, I am now attaining the discount with the assistance of a VRBO service rep. Extremely poor customer service, leaking upstairs bath tub, possible mold issues if not properly mitigated by professionals, and just very unfortunate as my family travelled thousands of miles to enjoy a comfortable 4 night stay in Soldotna.

Very nice house. Clean, spacious and conveniently located. Equipped with all our needs, even a small freezer for storing fish. Washer/dryer was nice to have as well
We had 11 in our party, which is what the home listed as sleeping, but 3 are on either a futon or couch (not a hide-away-but on the couch). Worked fine for us because we had children, but not for adults. Also the ‘hot tub’ (jetted tub) caused a leak in lower bedroom—I’m sure that will be fixed, but did leave a musty smell the following days.
Location was very convenient and the upper deck was nice. Lots of parking and easy to locate. Would consider staying here again.

I was looking for a place to house 13 people for fishing in both the Russian River and off the Kenia Peninsula and this fit the bill just fine. There were more beds than anticipated and we fit everyone just fine. We had some of the teenage boys on the couch, but that is where they prefer to sleep anyway.
Host was great to communicate with and the place was in good condition with everything we needed for the stay, including pots and pans to cook meals for the whole group.
Would stay there again if I ever get to go back.

Nice house just needs a few things
This house was one of the nicer Vrbos our group has experienced. It’s a new spacious house with lots of windows to enjoy the daily sightings of moose and possibly artic rabbits??
The listing says 8-11 occupancy but ideally would hold 4 adults and 4 children comfortably. You could do 6 adults if two don’t mind bottom bunks. (Our adults weren’t fans of the bunk beds.) The master and downstair’s bedroom were quite comfortable. The listing mentions a couch and futon but those options aren’t ideal for adults. The couch is in the great room and the small futon is located in a glass study which is only accessible through the master bedroom. The listing also mentions a hot tub in master bath but it’s a jacuzzi tub in case that matters to anyone.
The house is located in a very private woodsy (forest) setting. We had family over one evening and the spacious great room held everyone nicely.
Owner was very nice. We did make a few suggestions on adding a few items to make the place more vacation friendly.

Searched lots of different homes to rent on VRBO for the Soldatna area and I'm so glad I booked this one!
My husband and I needed a place to stay to visit our son who plays on the local Junior hockey team (Go Brown Bears!) :)
The property manager was very easy to work with. They were very prompt with communication before, during and after our stay.
The home was very clean and had all we needed for our stay. Nice big kitchen to cook, very comfortable beds, lots of space and a great location to grocery stores, restaurants, the hockey rink, the river, etc..
The laundry room had top of the line washer and drier which was extremely convenient. Having 3 bathrooms was also a nice convenience. The master bathroom was wonderful. Tons of space and a really nice shower and jacuzzi tub.
This would be a perfect vacation home for guests with large families. You won't all feel "on top" of each other. It would also be a perfect vacation home for smaller groups as well (which is what we had).
The Soldatna area is also a great location on the Kenai Peninsula. We explored Seward, Homer, Sterling, the beaches of Kenai and loved every minute of it. We will be back to Alaska for sure! If we need a place to stay in Soldatna, we will definitely book this home again!
