1861 Farmhouse Estate with Entertainment Barn and Seasonal Heated Pool
About this farm stay rental
Located in Westfield, this lovely farm stay for $1,130 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Woodside Retreat is a truly special 4 acre historic estate that is new to the short-term rental market. The property is truly one of kind, blending a history that dates back to 1861 with modern touches and amenities. This Indiana farmhouse, with ties to the Underground Railroad, has been thoughtfully furnished with comfort and heritage in mind. Imagine making memories with family, colleagues, or friends with an entertainment barn, in-ground pool/deck, custom pergola, fire pit, and beautiful open space. Guest access Guests are given access to all areas of the home except the locked off sections of the barn and the basement of the home for safety reasons. Other things to note Access in and out of the home will be through a coded electronic door lock. The estate includes a finished barn for gathering and includes games like air hockey, skee ball, and ping pong. Please note that the barn is NOT centrally heated or cooled. In the cooler months, there are commercial grade propane heaters that heat well until about 25 degrees. Below that temperature, the heaters aren't able to sufficiently heat the space. Barn heaters are only to be utilized when actively using the space. Otherwise, the heat in home could be affected and additional charges could be applied. There is also a heated in-ground pool (seasonal) with a sizable pool deck and pergola and another pergola between the home and the pool. House Rules -All guests should abide by city noise ordinance rules (10 pm) and be respectful to neighbors. The home is in a quiet neighborhood with families. -All wet pool clothes must be confined to bathrooms, laundry room, or provided clothing racks. This home has hardwood floors that date back to 1861 and are not to be damaged by pool clothes and towels. -This home is a historic home with original elements. It is valuable to the owners and the community as one of the home/land to one of the original settlers of Westfield. The utmost of care must be provided to protect this home for future visitors and generations. -The basement and locked off area of the barn is completely off-limits to guests. Cameras are in locked off areas to monitor. -Beds that are utilized should be left unmade and are not to be stripped. -Bonfires are permitted in designated areas only and fireworks are not permitted. -Trash should be taken out to the outdoor bins behind the garage throughout the stay. Trash day is Tuesday. For guests here on a trash day, trash must be set by the curb. Otherwise, it could require an additional trash pickup fee. -Pool considerations: The pool must be covered when not being used and at the end of the day. No glass, No diving, No foreign substances in the pool. Anticipate some pool testing and maintenance during your stay to ensure a safe and clean swimming environment. -Furniture is not to be rearranged n the home unless prior permission is granted and furniture is moved by owner or property manager. This home is built in 1861. Please message the year"1861" to the property manager to ensure that you have reviewed these guidelines. -Tampering with security cameras or doorbells is prohibited and will cancel the reservation, requiring an immediate departure. -No parties or events. -Guests are required to complete a rental agreement.

We constantly commented to each other, how well equipped this property was From the history of the house and the barn, to the pool and the 4acres of running and hiding places, this family retreat has it all. We celebrated a 75th birthday, an engagement and honored the life of a lost son, brother and uncle.

It was the perfect location and accommodation for a wonderful weekend of making lots of memories with all of our (married) kids and grandkids. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the house was clean and well-equipped, with a rich sense of history. The property host (Heather) was extremely helpful, responsive to questions, and very easy to work with.

What an excellent property that suited the needs of 12 people for a work retreat. Location was great to everything! Property management was responsive and offered proactive solutions. Pool was amazing feature on a hot weekend. Barn offered plenty of activities. Would recommend to anyone!

What an amazing property! Plenty of space to spread out but still have areas where our whole large group of 12 could gather. The pool was perfect, the party barn was so fun, and the theater room was the perfect cozy ending to each night. I also want a carbon copy of the kitchen in my house. We will definitely be back!

Our stay here started our perfect wedding weekend! From the rich history of the house, the amenities, location and the grounds of this estate were above our expectations. Heather (property manager) does a tremendous job with any questions before our stay and after. The only question we had was “do we really have to leave”….The home alone is fantastic and the pool, barn and acreage was the added plus. Definitely renting this again.

We had a terrific vacation. We have been taking our grandkids on vacation for many years. Due to some unusual circumstances our children are spaced rather oddly. They are in their thirties and forties, and their kids run from 9 months to 18 years. Trying to keep them busy is quite a chore. But not in your home. They all agreed this was our best time ever. This property offered a wide range of accommodations for many interests. From the children in our family to the oldest adults, everyone found a room or activity to their liking. The pool was well maintained and appointed with deck furniture and a picnic area where we spent most of our outdoor time. Indoor time was split between the multi-activity barn and the big screen room in the main house. Modern upgrades only enhance the original character of the property. Ample parking in a very quiet and secluded neighborhood really gave the feeling we were in a remote country large, while in reality we were a few minutes from community and commercial locations.
Heather was great and responded quickly to our questions. We would definitely stay here again and give our strong recommendation.

Our family of 14 celebrated our family's Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays at Woodside for the second time. The house and grounds are simply amazing! The home is charming and well-appointed with anything and everything you can imagine needing. Our grandkids loved playing in the barn, and watching football (Go Blue!) in the movie room was awesome! This property is amazing! There is so much charm and character. We were in town for a family wedding, 10 of us stayed here very comfortably. The property was well maintained and the owners are very responsive. You’re close to many conveniences but feel like you’re in the country. The barn had so many fun activities. My family enjoyed the home very much!

This is my favorite VRBO that I have stayed in to date. It is a beautiful, well stocked home in an excellent neighborhood. We were on a trip with a group of teens for a convention that took place downtown Indianapolis. We had a hard time getting the students motivated to leave the house because there was so much for them to do there. They loved the media room and had a great time bonding while playing games in the barn. We made most of our meals at the house and had everything needed to do so. Our host was super accommodating and responded quickly to all of our questions. We hope to stay again sometime.

We spent the weekend celebrating our sons and son-in-laws birthdays with 4 families (12 people) and it could not have been more perfect. From the beautiful grounds to the in ground pool - Everything was perfect. With age ranges from 60 to 6 months we truly had an enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

This property is beyond amazing! The furnishings, the location, the amenities, everything is just perfect for a family getaway or a client event like mine. The house was very clean and our Host, Heather, was very attentive and accommodating with our extra requests, she's fantastic! I would HIGHLY recommend this property and any of this Host's properties!

We loved our family time at together at this beautiful property! Our annual family Christmas gathering was no longer going to happen at a venue that had worked for 30 years, so we needed something that would be comfortable for our youngest, under 1, to our oldest, 93. This property ended up being perfect for us! The barn was a wonderful space for the grandkids/great grandkids to play hide and seek, imaginery nerf guns battles (a huge arsenal of nurf guns are in the barn, without bullets-so the best kind of battle when you don't have to reload constantly for the kids), and a variety of games for those ages 3-18. Then the house offered multiple comfortable spaces for conversation. Great Grandpa struggles a bit with hearing, so this was a pleasant surprise how easy it was for him to have conversations. The media room was big enough to host all 30 of us for a gift exchange. We are already planning on going back next year, so hopefully Heather will have us!
One comment that I heard multiple times, was that while the property was great for us for our December gathering, it would even be more fun in the summer having the pool available, taking advantage of the grassy acreage for play, and using the multiple fire pits. The only time the family left the property during our 3 days there was some would go for walks and runs on the trails right across the street. The weather didn't cooperate much with us, being rainy and wet. However having the barn and house still meant plenty to do to entertain ourselves-hence never leaving the property!
Then for the 3 families that stayed at the property, we all slept well, enjoyed hosting the rest of the family at the house, and we were all very comfortable. There wasn't a single thing we needed to reach out to Heather about while there-everything worked well and was as described. Heather was also helpful ahead of our stay, answering questions about layout and bedrooms to help us with planning.

Our family flew in from around the country to gather for a family Christmas. The house was large & well-appointed. The 4 acre property was great for outdoor exploration & play. The party barn on the property was perfect for the whole family. We hope to return in the future.
