Comfortable stay if you were happy to be travelling around or overnight stop .

Lovely little cottage , very cosy and comfortable . Unfortunately we felt the area was not the best which was a shame . There was a lot of rubbish locally and the town seemed very run down .

Noise outside and general run down area. Lots of broken glass each day around the back where we had to park our car so had to clear it up due to dogs feet and car tyres

Superb

A lovely cosy and comfortable cottage with lots of quirky features. We really enjoyed our weekend stay and the Welsh Cakes were very much appreciated. We were in Swansea for a swimming competition at the Wales National Pool which was an easy 25min drive, this was an ideal base.

Few days away

The little cottage was beautiful, I loved all the little decorations throughout. It was lovely and warm very cosy, the sofas were very comfy, and the beds were lovely.

It says pet friendly, but no dogs upstairs, and my dog doesn't like to be left alone and kept trying to come up with us and spent time downstairs crying.

Although there is plenty parking round the back of the property I would have preferred to park on the road outside.

Good value for money.

A clean comfortable cottage for our 3 day stay. Couple of touches ie tin foil and kitchen items if you forgot them. Stairgate for keeping doggy downstairs as they cannot go upstairs. Value for money.

Being an old cottage the stairs were very steep but accessible.

loved this cottage! it’s was lovely throughout and had some lovely quirky touches. It was very homely and comfortable. The hosts were very attentive and friendly. kindly left us some Welsh cakes. Would recommend if you want a Chinese - Eastern kitchen who are on Just Eat and deliver. There are plenty of menus in the information pack too along with information about the area. If you love fish and chips then highly recommend Hikarys Fish Bar - it’s award winning and certainly lives up to it and it’s in walking distance. We also enjoyed cooking some meals in the kitchen which was well equipped. I would definitely recommend the cottage - felt right at home and very cosy. The beds were very comfy too!

Gorgeous cozy cottage, a great location for exploring the area.

Easy access and parking, super cozy and I loved the big bath!! (also thanks for the Welsh cakes, perfect with tea after a yomp in the hills)

Very good

The cottage was very authentic and very comfortable and lovingly restored. It was well presented with everything that you would want for a family break. The whole place, including the kitchen, was well equipped with all the things that you would need plus good reliable WiFi, with Netflix and Youtube and a comfortable lounge to relax in.

The availability of parking was a challenge because of the residential parking zones. Get parked before 5:00p.m. and you should be fine.

Adorable cottage with that makes you feel right at home!

We loved the cottage and are definitely planning to come back! From there you for example can visit Rhossili Bay, Cardiff or Hay-on-Wye and in the evening you can relax outside or watch some Netflix. It was really cozy and we felt right at home. Communication was always without problems and the hosts seemed really nice (although we didn't meet them in person). We loved the humour that was apparent through some of the decoration :-)

Nice little Gaff

Nice and clean, efficiant owner with clear direction.

Not a big issue but for 4 adults you will be in the same room as there were 2 double beds in one room and a single in another. Not a bad thing really just a surprise to us.

Stunning property, beds were extremely comfy and the property was spotless. Perfect property to remember my last night as a miss, spent with my friends who all spoke highly of the property too.

Lovely homely rustic cottage situated in a fabulous geographical location and idea for short stays

The bathtub was a lovely depth to relax in. Welsh cakes upon arrival. The garden was fully enclosed which is great for dog owners. House warmed up very quickly once heating was on. Kitchen had all equipment required to cook with. Beds and sofa were very comfy. House was very homely. Plenty of storage for clothing, toiletries, food in kitchen. Although we didn't use, there is a washing machine and laundry detergent available in the basement. Hot water always on demand. Dog bowl and treats were provided. House was in a great geographical location for surrounding shopping areas and dog walking spots. Would definitely love to stay here again but as I previously mentioned, dogs not being allowed upstairs is an issue for me.

The noise from the traffic in the master bedroom we assumed would quieten down later in the evenings but it didnt. Parking out front was not great as the majority is residential parking, and a lot of double yellows, rear of property didn't seem safe to leave vehicle out of sight. Tv has no terrestrial signal, streaming apps only. We noticed a lot of dvds but no dvd player. Dogs not being allowed upstairs was an issue as I didn't see that mentioned anywhere on the booking.com page, it wasn't until we got to the property and read the welcoming pack. My dog has severe separation anxiety and spent the first night non stop crying downstairs and I ended up having to sleep on the sofa for the remainder of the holiday.

Beautiful cottage. Cosy, comfortable, aesthetically beautiful. Pet friendly- brought our chocolate lab with us. We had to call owner for directions and she was very approachable and patient. Plenty of free parking at back if cottage. Owner left us Welsh cakes which we thought was such a sweet touch.

Lovely cottage close to swansea and aberavon.

Very cosy warm cottage with comfy beds and plenty of hot water. Dog friendly.

One of the ovens didnt work. No live TV but catch up and netflix etc were available.

A great space.

The space was amazing, the value was excellent, it was clean and tidy, equipped well, the garden was nice to use when able and having the ease of a smart TV and WiFi and washing clothes etc all good everything needed. Comfy sofa and chair, easy to find. Access to everything in the area, Neath is a lovely place I really liked it, the cottage was lovely and quiet. Lovely shower, lovely view out of the kitchen window, and communications were spot on with the owners. Thank you for the bits left in the kitchen for us being milk, sugar, coffee etc. The book was a great touch with lots of info and leaflets which was very helpful.

Firstly please note we really loved your little cottage and really thank you for letting us have this amazing space so the following comments are the only reason you didn't get a 10 out of 10 from us. We fully appreciate its a cottage in progress, you already have plans for future works too the property. The bed, it is noisy, small and uncomfortable especially after walking etc. A larger bed frame with memory foam topper would be a welcome addition to any traveller. The area is great for biking, walking, hiking swimming and wonderful waterfalls, but I could go too the loo in the night without waking my husband or turning over and the same for him , which sadly robbed us both of sleep.

Another great weekend.

Another great weekend at the Old Road Cottage. This is my second time returning to Old Road Cottage and yet again Danni was a great host. Welcoming little gifts, flowers and dog treats was thoughtful. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. I can not recommend this little cottage enough. Check in and out was very simple again and perfect location for exploring. Returning next month for another perfect little getaway . Thank you Bob the dog for letting my little Bentley stay at your little retreat you are the perfect doggy host. Kindest regards Lucy

Nice stay more suited to a younger family due to the sleep arrangements.

The host is very attentive! Clean Cottage!

I would have preferred a real fire place and a sofa bed downstairs would be nice to help with sleep arrangements. But it was good value for money 😊

Home from Home

Myself and my little dog Bentley had the best time staying at old road cottage, check in was so simple and communication was excellent. Loved the welcoming gifts once arrived, Danni is an excellent host. As for the cottage WOW so so comfortable specially after a long day out coming back and just relaxing, great location, very very clean the shower/Bath was the best. I can not recommend this cottage enough got back yesterday booked again for September..Thank you Old Road Cottage 💖

Really lovely cottage, great space. Kitchen was well equipped and sofas and beds really comfortable. The garden was perfect for our dog and parking was also great. 🐶 The walks were lovely near by and local shops close to the cottage. 🍄🌿🍁 An overall great experience and enjoyable stay. Would definitely like to return in the future 😊

Absolutely Pawsome!

great parking for our two cars at the rear, excellent dog friendly garden and house, Pyro (40kg German Shepherd) and Blaze (40kg Husky) both Thank Bobbi the dog for the hospitality!! Had everything we needed and would totally recommend.

The small mesh panel at the side of the house was a great ideal but it could do with being a solid gate or bigger panel, as a dog could easily jump the panel and the small gate to the busy road, a 5-6 ft tall gate / barrier would mean the bigger dogs / escape artists would be safer and more secure, but what is there is still fantastic, especially for smaller / older dogs. Also the husky slipped down the stairs which are varnished shiny wood and slippery for the dogs. Some stick on carpet treads or carpet would solve that issue. (I had a 14pk of sissal carpet treads off ebay for my own stairs for the same reason and they look and feel amazing, just stick straight on).
