About this condo rental
The City of Folly Beach has scheduled beach renourishment for this spring. The project will start at the West end of the island at the county park progressing towards the pier in blocks. The completion is slated for August. While this is welcomed news given the recent erosion from storms and high tides, we realize the potential for disruption based on the project’s timing. We are committed to ensuring your vacation experience remains enjoyable. While most of the beach will remain publicly accessible during the construction, there is a possibility that certain sections of the beach, typically about 500 feet at a time, may be temporarily closed off. The active work area moves every 5 to 7 days on average. Due to so many external factors, we have no way to predict an accurate timeline for when the project will be at any given location. However, if we anticipate in advance that the project may affect your stay, we will be reaching out to you. In the small chance the project directly affects your beachfront vacation, we will work closely with you to discuss options. This 4 bedroom 4 bath villa is classy, understated and a perfect way to treat your family or group to a touch of coastal luxury. The decorations are minimal, allowing the guest to be in their own temporary vacation home, as opposed to visiting someone else’s. Tile flooring runs the entire length of the public space which includes a full kitchen with a breakfast counter, a spacious dining area and comfortable living room. There is even a bar stocked with glasses and a functional sink. Both master bedrooms provide a spectacular ocean view. The main master bathroom has been completely renovated to include a spa-like tiled in shower, double vanities and extra space. The second master bathroom has a gorgeous tiled shower/tub combo. The gift of an ocean sunrise on the East Coast is yours for the taking from your balcony which runs the entire length of this marathon villa and overlooks the private community pool as well as the Atlantic Ocean. This particular abode faces a bit south providing a unique and endless view of the west side of Folly Beach straight across the Stono Inlet to Kiawah Island. All the restaurants, bars and shopping that downtown Folly Beach has to offer are within walking distance. However, you may find it difficult to leave the nest once you’ve gotten a taste of what “Shaken, Not Stirred” has to offer. The Oceanfront Villas also feature 2 oceanfront pools, that are open seasonally from April 1st- October 31st of each year! Life on Folly Beach follows a fun, relaxing pace. During the winter, it is a small town at the end of the highway. In the summer, it is a vacation destination. Locals proclaim, /'We have the best waves, the best nightlife and the best beach atmosphere along the Charleston Coast... but don/'t tell anyone./' Folly Beach is home to the famous Morris Island Lighthouse, colorful locals, sand, sun and some of the best surf on the East Coast. Also home to many species of endangered wildlife, Folly is a nature-lover/'s dream complete with a maritime forest and dolphin-filled waters. Due to the abundance of outdoor activities and water sports, this normally sleepy beach town comes to life during the warmer months, welcoming visitors and locals alike to water ski, fish, crab and surf. Folly offers the best of both worlds with six miles of beach on one side and equally stunning river views on the other. For many, Folly is considered /'Charleston/'s Beach/' because it is located just 8 miles from the historic peninsula. Although it/'s close to all the great things Charleston has to offer, once you cross the Folly River, you feel a world away. A dazzling combination of bohemian style and laid-back hospitality make this quiet little beach town a true gem on the /'Edge of America./' Folly Beach offers dining, recreation, casual shopping, oceanfront and creekside accommodations, sunbathing and beach combing. Perfect location from downtown Charleston to the beach. The condo was great and the people at the Dunes were very helpful. We want to come back next year.

The condo was a good size for 8 adults. Great location. We walked to all the restaurants for our meals. Having the beach only steps away or the pool as an option was also a plus. We didn’t figure out how to lock the front door for a couple of days. That was not communicated to us. Figured it out on our own. More then two fobs would also have been helpful. Broken door handle on the sliding door was never fixed even though we reported it twice. All in all it was a great vacation!

We will definitely stay here again! Location is good with several restaurants within walking distance. The beach was perfect and not crowded at all. Same for the pool. The unit itself was clean, spacious and comfortable. The view from the balcony was amazing.

Loved the location, right near Center St. within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Communication was excellent & check in / check out was a breeze.
The condo was very clean with modern coastal decor. Our oceanfront balcony was huge! So nice for breakfasts or relaxing with a book even with our large group.
Would definitely recommend & will be back!

We loved our stay! We were a multigenerational family in town for a graduation at the College of Charleston. The condo was perfect for morning walks on the beach or swimming at the pool plus the restaurants we walked to were wonderful. And the drive to downtown was relatively easy. It was good time had by us all. We’ll be back again.

The location worked great for our spring break trip. We were able to walk into town to shop, eat and enjoy the local scenery. It was also just a short drive to Charleston and neighboring locations. The condo was nicely decorated and worked great. Highly recommend. My favorite was breakfast on the balcony.

The condo was so nice! The whole family loved it. Shaken not stirred was tastefully decorated and beautifully remodeled. We were very comfortable and loved to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean every night. This place has everything you would need or want to make your stay one to remember. We would love to stay here again!

This condo has lovely and well-appointed furnishings. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to accommodate a large group. The porch furniture is plentiful and very comfortable. We just completed our third stay and will likely book this property again.

We LOVED every minute of our stay!! We had wonderful communication from management about check in and check out. The location is perfection. The space is beautiful and well stocked. The rental process and check in process were easy and convenient, other than needing access for parking that is unavailable until you access the unit. Having a code to access the gate instead of a fob would make the experience better.

This was a very well equipped and roomy property for our whole family. The floor really needed vacuuming when we arrived, so it was good to have one available. Otherwise it was pretty clean. The living room slider to the balcony was broken, so we had to use the bedroom sliders. Parking passes were not provided as instructed. However, it was easy to report issues to the management.
Over all we had a great experience.

Everything was good except the state of the floors throught the condo were disgusting. My baby crawled on them and within 5 minutes the tops of his feet and knees were black from the amount of dirt on the floors. No way they were cleaned before we checked in. Luckily there was a broom and a swiffer that we used to clean them right away but not what you want to be doing within the first 10 minutes of vacation.

Little things matter
It is a beautiful unit, but a few improvements would have made the stay much better. No linens on two front BRs upon arrival. Linens were rough/very uncomfortable. Need more/better skillets/pans. Left sink in master bath VERY slow to drain (did not use). Master BR needs a dresser with 6 drawers. More wash cloths and hand towels would be nice (2 per person).

Upon arriving at the condo the code for the keypad didn’t work. We called the number provided and the kind lady gave us another code but it didn’t work either. After several attempts with a third code the door finally opened. Throughout our stay every time we tried to enter the condo it took several attempts to get the door to unlock. I believe the lock was malfunctioning.
None of the four beds had fitted sheets on them. Only a top sheet and the bedspread. There were extra pillows but no extra pillow cases. There were no hand towels. The stoppers on two of the bathtubs didn’t work. The shower in the master bath was plugged up so the water didn’t drain. A sink in the master bath didn’t drain. The sliding glass door to the balcony was stuck. Our parking passes ended two days prior to our checkout date so we had to have updated passes reissued.
All of these problems were reported and most were corrected but it took a couple of days and our visit was for only four nights. We were all very disappointed with the lack of preparation and maintenance of our condo. I cannot recommend staying at Shaken Not Stirred.

Overall, Great place. Location is top notch for sure. Some of the beds and all the major appliances could use replacing or updating for the price. And for first timers, instructions on how to use the electronics could be left in the condo for everyone. On the whole though, these things are minor. We would definitely rent again from the Dunes.

View was beautiful, I didn't give all 5 stars because of several things. #1 update cooking wear we had to buy skillet to cook on, #2 update utensils, #3 sheets on full bed kept coming off during night, #4 lock didn't work one day but you did fix quickly, #5 portable restroom was absolutely disgusting (stool all over), was not taken are of for several days, we did complain, #6 Buy some umbrellas for pool area with table and chairs and have adult time only swim for one pool at least. #7 fix sliding door it needs clean very loud when opening and closing
I would come again especially if you added the pool things. The beach was wonderful and location was perfect and unit was very quiet.
