It is close to all town amenities, both Hernando and Inverness, and is a perfect mix of yesteryear and today. With an unbeatable location to lakes, springs, trails, and nearby historic towns, you and yours can have a memorable time staying on the grounds or day tripping to nearby attractions. Sip lemonade on the front porch as you watch native birds, butterflies, and dragonflies. Or grill out and have a picnic in the backyard while watching neighboring cows graze pastures. Less than one mile from the Rail House, take a stroll or a bike ride to Lake Hernando Park where you can swim, launch your boat, or play on the playgrounds. If you seek nature trails, experience old-Florida along the 46-mile, paved Withlacoochee State Trail. For the spring hoppers, you are about 25 minutes away from Crystal River where you can experience Hunter Springs, Three Sister’s Springs or King Spring. In the opposite direction, you are about 25 minutes from Rainbow Springs State Park and KP Hole depending on traffic. Come stay in and venture out and experience all the Nature Coast offers at the Rail House. Property exterior is monitored by security cameras. Guest agrees to abide by all house rules on our property information page. Maximum occupancy includes children and infants. Pets considered, but require written approval, aggressive breads will not be considered. Pets will be charged per stay. Service animals do not require a fee, but Emotional Support animals will require this fee, if a Service animal is to be on the trip we will require to know what skill or task the service animal has been trained to perform. Guest agrees to pay all costs and expenses, as determined in the sole judgment of the Property Manager, of repair or replacement for any and all damages of whatever origin or nature which may have occurred during the term of the stay. Property exterior is monitored by security cameras. The neighborhood is secluded, but there are neighbors.

We loved our stay in the Nature Coast Rail House. The house was very clean. My children loved all the space around the house and going to see the cows every morning. When I had a questions the responses were always very quick. We can’t wait for our next stay here!

If you are looking for a nice quiet rural setting this farmhouse is small but charming. Nicely remodeled and decorated. I wish it had had some comfortable chairs for around the fire pit so bring folding chairs. We spent most of our time on the front porch. Our dog loved having a large safe yard to play in. The cows were a bonus. Very close to the bike trail, restaurants and all the Citrus County hiking you could imagine.

Really enjoyable stay!

Absolutely wonderful. It was clean and comfortable! The decor was charming, the house was well stocked with towels and laundry detergent and dishwasher tablets, everything we really needed to make our 5 night stay comfortable.. Great location - close to things but off the beaten path so it was quiet and relaxing. The value was excellent. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely stay again!

It was very homey feeling we really enjoyed the front porch and all the plants and the way it’s setup. The old articles were interesting and the neighbor was very nice and talked to the guys right after we got there, made us feel welcome

If you are Interested in a relaxing area, next to farms with animals, produce farming, close to the water, abundance of water birds, the Rail House will be your kind of place. There are neighbors, but not in close proximity, and very friendly. The fenced in yard was great for our pet, however you need to make sure there are no places a small dog can get through, as they will. Horses nearby, beautiful place for photography. Citrus County is wonderful, and fun! You travel small distances to towns with lots of water sports, the air-boat ride was great!! Wonderful spots to eat in the area where fresh seafood is abundant and all kinds of entrees are available. If you want a rustic get-away place for peace and quiet, this is it!!! You can rock on the front porch and breath the fresh air!! Or you can travel to Tampa, where there are an abundance of over-crowded beaches and crazy, bad, traffic!!!!

Decor and style of the property was Great. The property manger was not as responsive as I would have expected at all. We had a couple small problems and it took them some time to respond and then I had to push the issue to have them resolved. One problem was with the tub was not draining and they suggested I take care of it initially and no follow up communication was had letting us know when they actually addressed the problems. Could be a nice place if you don’t have any concerns during your stay or the customer service is improved by the property manager.

We will definitely miss the Rail House! A lovely cottage in the country surrounded by cow pastures that is the epitome of peaceful tranquility. Train buffs will love the historical memorabilia and photos on display in the house. Owners did a great job of remodeling, while keeping original aesthetic feeling. Pictures do not do this cozy house justice.

More than expected

More than expected

Was really blown away with the location of this property. The family was able to hit many of the near by springs within 30 minutes of the house in Dunnellon and Crystal River. We also were able to rent delivered bicycles and spent a lot of time at the Tsala Apopka lake park there in Hernando.
