My husband & I needed a winter getaway and this house was perfect. It had everything we needed. We brought our fishing boat and the boat docks were right there which was great! Tortuga Property Management was wonderful. They met us as soon as we got there and helped us get unloaded. They were very quick to respond when we had questions. Amy from Swept Away was wonderful as well. Everyone was so accommodating. Would definitely stay at this house again!

We enjoyed our stay at this home. It has everything we needed to get away from the hustle of our daily lives. Although the island is still recovering from the hurricane we enjoyed the peace on the beach during the day. The blackout shades allowed us to sleep in and really enjoy our getaway.

This condo was EXACTLY what we needed. The setup was perfect with the primary suite on the main floor; we had our big kids upstairs where they had a full bathroom and tons of space and games, and our baby in the downstairs in a cozy room where he could take great, undisturbed naps.
We had easy access to all the beaches and amenities with the zippy golf cart that comes with the house. I highly recommend watching sunrises on the east beach by the airstrip, and closing out the day watching the sunset on the other side of the island- park your cart at one of the beach access spots on gulf lane for unforgettable evenings. Spend the time in between at the Safety Harbor pool, grab a beach read at the clubhouse, or go kayaking! I come to North Captiva every year/every other year, so I feel like a bit of an expert.
This house has everything you need for an easy stay including a high chair and pack-and-play if you have a baby. Bring less clothing than you think and use the W/D at the house. The toughest part of traveling to the island is planning your food, so be sure to think through meals and pack a lot of extra snacks.
The management team is EXCELLENT and was so responsive and helpful. Be sure to use them while planning and during your stay. They assist with luggage and groceries, and they know everything about the island.
Overall, an amazing experience. Traveling with little kids can be very hard, and this house and the management team made everything great!

The house was as advertised, great location, clean, with plenty of space for the 4 of us (kids 9 & 12). There were plenty of beach/pool towels and toys for the kids. We loved having the kayaks and paddle boards with nearby launch site. Washer and dryer were very well maintained and came in handy with kids and after our fishing charter. The island may still be rebounding but Dragonfly House is top notch. We’ll be back!

Had an amazing stay on North Captiva at Dragon Fly Point. Even though the island is still recovering from Hurricane Ian we had a fantastic time.

Very nice considering the hurricane shortly before our stay.
Great location, easy access to the island.

The town house was great. The pool was beautiful and the views were awesome. I could walk anywhere I needed to go which I personally loved. Of course the golf cart is convenient:). I’d def stay again or recommend. Also, all the property managers and staff we awesome too!

Great vacation if you want to turn off a busy life and just get back to yourself and family. The house was great, driving the island was always an adventure and the locals took care of you. If I had any negatives: the island prices were high, the grocery service was super high and some of the extra fees were surprising after all said and done. Would we do it again - for sure! Just would find other avenues to stock the kitchen!

We lived our stay at Dragonfly!
Had everything we needed! Very centrally located to everything on the island. The pool was wonderful as not many people were there! Right by OTW restaurant and the safety harbor dock which was nice!

This was our first time to N Captiva and we really enjoyed it. The condo was cute and was pre-stocked with a lot of amenities that you’d need. That being said the islands only mode of transportation was by golf cart and ours came with no way to charge it. Then we had to have a maintenance guy come and fix it (install an adapter to charge it) A day and a half after he fixed it it died while we were driving with our three kids. So again we had to contact the property manager and they ended up swapping out our cart for a different one. (Which took more than a half day) The property itself was clean and had plenty of beds for a family of 5 and had a prime location. The island is secluded which has many positives and a couple negatives. Make sure you bring old school coffee to this property as there is no keurig and the island store ran out of regular coffee several mornings. All in all, we would definitely come back.

Wonderful stay
This home had pretty much everything we wanted/needed as far as amenities and was well stocked and cared for. Super close to ferry, beaches, etc. but then nothing is really more than a 10 minute golf cart ride away. Logistics were a bit confusing as there are two companies that I corresponded with--Swept Away Realty and Tortuga Properties--but everyone we dealt with was extremely helpful and attentive. LOVED North Captiva...will definitely be back and would likely stay in the same place.

Peaceful Paradise
We had a wonderful week at Dragonfly Point! Amazing wildlife sightings, beautiful beaches, and a serene place to relax! Our property management team was wonderful to work with! If you want a peaceful vacation away from the crowds come to North Captiva and stay at Dragonfly Point!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect with a view of the harbor. Ally was extremely responsive when any questions or needs arose. Only suggestion would be to consider replacing the golf cart, which was a bit tired.

Perfect VRBO rental
Our stay on N Captiva Island could not have been any better! My business partner and I chose this location as a Leadership retreat and brainstorming session. The locale was perfect and the check in was effortless. I loved it!

Wonderful stay
We loved our stay on North Captiva. It was great having the kayak. Our teens had a blast in the golf cart. We rented a couple bikes and went several times to the nature preserve. Ally and Sean were very helpful. Hope to come back some day.

Dragonfly Point is a perfect place for us. It had everything we needed and with the tiny issues we had, management was super quick and responsive. It was great to not have to pack very much. The kitchen has all the basics and the home was clean and tidy. Ally and Sean greeted us and were so friendly and helpful - especially with their communication. They shopped for us and got everything we needed before we got to N Cap. They even checked in with us to see if we needed any last minute things My family is looking forward to visiting again soon! .

Great time in North Captiva
We had a very nice 5 days/6 nights in North Captiva. It was very easy process to board the boat in Pineland and arrive at Safety Harbor. The walk was less than a block from the dock to the townhome. We picked up groceries at Sprouts in Estero and then brought those across on the boat. Ally was very helpful with preplanning but we decided to grocery shop ourselves since we are gluten free and there are more options at Sprouts than Publix, we found.
The townhome was really nice, it is beautifully decorated, the flooring is amazing, but some of the pictures made it seem bigger than it really was. We thought the kitchen was bigger but it's definitely a max of two people in there at a time. The main bedroom & second bedrooms were great! They had comfortable beds & bedding, plus bathrooms connected to them. The 3rd bedroom was used by our 12-year old boy, but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone over 8. He had to rearrange the furniture (but then put it back where it was) because he would've hit his head every time he got up. It got hot in that room too so we had to shift some fans around. The biggest disappointment we faced was the golf cart. It would charge overnight but then would be on low battery after driving for less than an hour. One night I was running to get dinner at Mangoes and it died on the side of the road. Luckily Keith, the guy that did their renovation, was right behind me. He had to make 2 new wires because they were not connected properly so it wasn't taking a full charge. He got me up & running in an hour but if he wasn't right behind me, I don't know what I would've done. The battery life was a major problem but hopefully Keith's on-the-spot repair will make it better for future use. The brakes weren't working the best either, we would roll probably due to the electrical issues.
The island is great, we saw lots of Manatees (in fact I got knocked over by one that was swimming on the gulf side!), dolphins, plus rented bikes from Boats and Fun so we cruised down to the South point of the island. There are only 4 food options so I recommend bringing more meals so you don't have to depend on the restaurants for dinners every night. We also rented a boat from Boats and Fun and zipped up to Boca Grande and stopped at Cabbage Key and Cayo Costa.
The entire family had a blast! Besides the golf cart hiccup, we had a great time at Dragonfly.

We traveled with two adults and three teenagers. We've never been to North Captiva Island not sure what to expect. Ali did such a great job telling us who to book for our water taxi and taking care of all the groceries. The house was extremely clean and was fully stocked in the kitchen. The living room furniture was extremely comfortable as was the mattresses. The restaurants on the island are a little expensive, but we love the low key vacation. There is so much Beach that you really have an entire Beach to just your family. It was extremely tropical and reminded me so much of the Bahamas. We saw dolphins and manatees almost everyday and the golf cart that was included made for such fun family. The included kayak was a blast for my teen boys. We enjoyed the pool, but the beach was one of the most beautiful we have seen. The water taxi was so fun and we are definitely coming back!

One of the easiest rental experiences ever! The property was perfect for our family of 6. The kayak was perfect for the beach, we rented the extra golf cart due to size of our family, which was great for the older teens. The property managers were amazing, easy communication, I could just text a question and they responded. The only regret is I wished I booked it longer! The packet of information covers everything ! Thanks for the memories!

We arrived on Captiva in a total downpour, so we (and all of our belongings) were soaked! Luckily, the hosts were waiting for us and the unit is located close to the dock so we were inside quickly.
Because of the weather we declined the tour of the island, etc. although the host did go over the area map and gave us a lot of information and tips. Soon we were able to get in dry clothes, get settled for the evening, and the rain even gave us a short window to explore a little on the golf cart. There were several board games to play and smart TVs) so we had a cozy night in.
The house is wonderful! Everything is lovely, the decor is inviting and updated, and the kitchen is well stocked. The mattresses on the beds (including the twin beds) were very comfortable. Linens were clean and towels were fluffy and plentiful. For accessibility reasons, renters should be aware this property is three floors (and there is no bedroom that doesn’t require stairs). One of the bedrooms is very small and only has an entrance through the upstairs bathroom but the beds are comfortable and well suited to children (or adults that don’t mind a very low ceiling). They also provide a trundle bed in the first floor laundry room (which is not included in the total bed count) and that is a nice option.
The next morning and the rest of our stay were beautiful. Using the golf cart is a nice privilege and it’s included with the unit instead of being a separate rental. There were chairs and other beach items and toys available, as well as a kayak. The beaches were lovely and the water clean and tranquil (don’t expect to ride the waves here!), fantastic shelling, and some of the best sunsets I’ve seen in my life.
As for dining, there are not many options, and we only ate out once at Mainstay, but it was delicious and the service was great. No reservations required there. My kids enjoyed the ice cream parlor upstairs as well. If you’re staying longer, do call WAY ahead to make reservations at OTW (they book up a couple weeks ahead).
There was a damaged garage door that they are aware of and said will be repaired (it doesn’t affect your stay). And our grocery order was missing some items but that was resolved by the next morning by Ally which was much appreciated. Communication with Ally was easy and prompt. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this property to anyone! We were so lucky to have found this place so last minute! Thank you!!
