About this house rental
Situated in Guntersville Lake, this lovely house for $382 per night is a great option for your next break. NO EVENTS AND NO PARTIES STRICTLY ENFORCED "The Hideout at Buck Island" is 35 minutes from downtown Huntsville, on the shoreline of Guntersville Lake, in a quiet cove just minutes to the main channel, with a private dock 100 feet from the back door. The home sits on a half-acre gently sloping lot with 180 feet of shoreline. The roomy 2400 square foot home with a screened in porch and a large deck provides ample room for guests to be comfortable with modern conveniences, while enjoying the wildlife that make frequent appearances including Bald Eagles, Osprey and Great Blue Herons. The "Hideout at Buck Island" has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have adjoining private bathrooms. One of these has a Queen bed, the other one has a Queen bed and two twins. The third bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds. The third bathroom is in a hallway across from the third bedroom. The home sleeps 10. The two upper bunks have side rails, and have a weight limit of 120 pounds and are not suitable for children under 5 years of age. All beds have memory foam mattresses purchased in 2022. All linens, bedding, and towels were purchased in 2022. The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare and serve meals for groups of 10. The private dock is about 100 feet from the back of the house, and has decking 12 feet by 32 feet with a view towards the main channel. This cove is a favorite of the local fishermen and will be one of your favorite fishing holes too. Guntersville Yacht Club and Marina is across the channel at the mouth of the cove and enforces a strict no wake zone, which limits random boat traffic into the cove. There is a lot to do at The Hideout: play outdoor games, sit around the firepit, fish from the private dock, kayak in the cove, rent a 23 foot Searay ski boat (driver included). Contact host to make arrangements to rent the ski boat or for questions. The closest boat launches are minutes away off Highway 431, a public launch just before the Veterans Memorial Bridge going into town and at Alred Marina Ramp. Other nearby boat launches can be found here: https://www.fishing.org/ramps/alabama/guntersville#. In order to confirm a booking a completed and signed rental agreement is required within 24 hours. Great house! Very clean and spacious. Had all the essentials you would need. Perfect for a family. Plenty of sitting areas. It’s located at the end of a cove. There is a lot of vegetation at the dock but you can easily put in your kayaks or other water activities and enjoy the lake. Conveniently located to downtown and several state parks.

Great location with plenty of room to spend with a group of friends. The 3 bedrooms (with 8 total beds) was perfect for the 8 of us. The owners were great to work with and we really enjoyed the back deck and covered patio. The proximity to Lake Guntersville and Gunters Landing Golf Course was perfect. The house was clean and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here.

The house was extremely clean. Abundance supply of towels d wash clothes in each bathroom. Beds had very good mattress's that you slept very good. Kitchen was supplied with all the needed cookware home away from home to use. The only problem was the water level was very low and that was no fault of the owner. We have had a very low amount of rain this year causing the water level to be low. Lowest it has been in several years. We plan on going back hopefully next year.

We planned trip to my home town to visit friends & family. We usually stay in hotel, but I located this property. Couldn't have asked for more perfect place. Owner was so kind. Responded quickly to all questions. (And I had many!). She went above and beyond to meet our needs. Home was beautiful. Beautiful boathouse, view of lake. Large back deck for grilling and plenty seating for my family. Everything was exceptionally clean. More than enough supplies for everyone to eat, relax and enjoy visit. Quiet neighborhood. Secluded but very close to both Guntersville and short drive to Huntsville. I grew up in this area and honestly can say this rental and honor made our visit perfect. Since leaving Alabama in 2015 we visit 2 times a year and this was, without a doubt, the best visit we have had since our move. We owe it all to The HideOut and owner! Thank you so much. Will be a repeat guest on all future visits!

I can't say enough about how nice of a rental the Hideout was. I felt we had everything we could possibly need or want included in this unit. I don't think I have ever rented and had so many amenities from kitchen to bath included. There is no reason at all to be hesitant in giving this rental a try. We will most likely be back next year and would definitely stay again.
The owners were awesome, very responsive, and even let us push back our arrival by a day.
The only issue, and it may not be an issue for most, is that I really wanted to fish! The cove is heavily overgrown right now. Every cast brought back gunk that had to be removed from the bait. We lost many a lure and even went to the local Walmart for three new poles after using all our line up! I am sure the fish were wondering what fools were above trying to trick them! The neighbor even let us try their dock, but the problem was just the same with overgrowth. If you are looking to fish from the property, you may want to consider another property, at least at this time.

July 4th weekend stay at the Hideout
House and large backyard was perfect for our family of 6 over the holiday weekend. House was clean, spacious, well furnished and well equipped. Good communication with the owner. Access to the dock was a short walk of 50 feet through the flat backyard. The house and dock are tucked back in a quiet cove. While water level at the dock was about 2-3 feet, we had no issue getting our 20ft boat to the dock all weekend. Only bummer was the inability to swim off the dock due to the grass and milfoil that is floating in the lake during this time of year.
