The view was amazing!
The food was overpriced - and while we appreciate that the lodge celebrated the school results with the community it would have been nice to have been informed about the loud music and big group of people at the site. We specifically booked this hotel for a night away from busy Kampala to rest en enjoy nature. 5-6 hours of loud music did take the purpose of that away.

Incredibly awesome charity project with even more incredible staff. Awesome views and super delicious food! Just perfect, would have loved to stay much longer.

Fantastic place with wonderful views. The money from your stay goes to the NGO and school next door. Recommend you stay here if in the area!

The location and the fact that it is managed by an NGO and part of a broader programme to positively impact local communities.

It was inside on village roads...expect rustic and you'll be fine. It was a good African experience for my guest.
That I (that's me myself) did not read that it was "shared bathrooms" Oops! 😞

The mwamba kelele lodge was something like an hidden paradise to us! From the first moment we really enjoyed our stay and we were so sad, that we just booked for two nights! The staff was very friendly, helping out and the food was just delicious! The area with the craters and the community is so wonderful, we already enjoyed our ride to the accommodation! The camp is part of an organization which is supporting children and women from the community. It’s so impressive to see! We highly recommend that place, you miss definitely something if you skip on it!

Mwamba Kelele is a big school, some women's projects (textile)- and complimentary lodging. It has a nice view of one of 50 crater lakes in the district. It is nearby other lakes. They care about sustainability. They provide a light for when the power shuts out in the evening. There is a nice view, cold beer and pretty bird song in the morning.
First: There are other places around with more value for money by the crater lakes. MKL is a spanish school project with adjecent lodging, many Spanish volunteers come here. Not sure why young children in Uganda need to learn Spanish. Managers were away, but the lady who greeted me made a deal with a driver to pay 80.000 shillings for a 15 minute trip to the next loge. I tried to negotiate, but she was making me beleive I had no choice, or way, to get there- pushing me, inappropriate. Shared dorm lacked basic ameneties. No hot water in the shared showers. The lake, although beautiful - sits on the brink of ecological disaster due to the introduction of tilapia. I lappriciated the knowlegeble boat man and the guys down at the shore, or "beach" as they call it. Food was very greasy, Spanish-y and Julius the chef didn't understand my diatary restrictions, so I had to eat what I was served and I did get sick. A lot of noise from the huge school, understandable - but the drumming went on from 5 to 7. I had arrived- after driving for 8 hours, it was exhausting. I visited the workshops and the women there were not very friendly and were reluctant to show me the fabrics they were using. The lady at the shop was very sweet until she realized I wasn't going to buy anything. There are other beautiful lodges around.

Amazing work being done here in the local community which we witnessed first hand. The lodge itself offers incredible views from the rim of the crater lake. We enjoyed the food, especially breakfast looking out at the peaks of the distant mountain range to the sound of laughter and singing from local school children. This is a lovely place to stay for a couple of days, especially as we could walk down to the lake and enjoy a beer by the water there. The money you spend staying here goes back into the community. It's a win-win for everybody

Chef Assumpta makes the most lovely dishes you can imagine. She is smiling all day long and took us to the local pub.
All other staff had the same smile and took time for a talk or walk with you.
Having the school on the same property gave another dimension to our stay.

We were a group of 5 adults + 2 young children and had an amazing stay.
The location is great with a wonderful lake view. It is very quiet and it is possible to walk and hike around.
The rooms are very confortable and clean. We didn't see any mosquito during our stay. We also had a great time visiting the school with the children and the team.
Thank you to Mwamba Kelele lodge!

One of the best accommodations in Uganda. We really enjoyed our stay, the personnel showed us the school and the organisation's background. We were lucky to meet the founder and learned a lot of information about education and living in Uganda. The food was just great and all the people around were nice. Beautiful view from the terrace to the crater lake. It was so touching that I am thinking about to become a volunteer :)

Beautiful lakeview lodge, very welcoming and friendly staff, great spanish-influenced local food, lots of activities offered. Mwamba Kelele Lodge is part of a spanish NGO's community project with a primary school for more than 200 children on the same compound. They also offer carpentry and sewing workshops for the youth, including a beautiful little craft shop to buy souvenirs. All income generated by the lodge supports the ongoing activities to benefit the local community. Stay there and do good! Make sure to book a guided hike around different crater lakes, lava pipe and waterfalls with Peter a.k.a Chiringuito! Overall it was a wonderful experience.
You should not mind showering with cold water, but it is actually very refreshing after a 5 hour hike :) No power outlets in the rooms but many (even european) power outlets in the common area.

There is just generally a very lovely atmosphere. It's a beautiful location and a great place to go and relax, you can arrange various activities such as walking and cycling or you can just sit in the restaurant area for hours admiring the fabulous view!
All was good 😁

One of our top places to stay in Uganda. Lovely accommodation, very clean and simple and beautifully done stunning views from each room and communal areas. Amazing community run project with a school who have an exceptional dancing group and they will perform and give dance lessons. We enjoyed that very much. So much to do - mountain biking, boat rides & walking or just relaxing. There is also a womens sewing workshop with a shop selling beautiful items at reasonable prices. All the staff were super helpful and welcoming. We would highly recommend this place to stay and we will be returning. Weebale nyo Maria and Julius

I had the most amazing stay at Mwamba Kelele Lodge. The stuff was amazing, they cared for me a lot, organized Boda drives for me and prepared the most fantastic dinner in the evening. The beds were comfortable and had a mosquito net. Not to miss is the view on the Lake Mwamba, including sunsets if you are lucky. You can hike around the area or even rent some bikes. I will definitely come back.
everything was perfect.

The views from the lodge are amazing and the people who run the lodge from the local community are super nice. We felt at home! Julius surely is the best chef in Uganda. Also the shop, which supports the project of Kelele Africa, is great for getting some affordable locally made souvenirs.

The location of the accommodation is a paradise and incomparable, the general cleanliness at the lodge is exptional, the staff 😀 so hospitable and very happy at all times, the lodge cares more about eco system and the well being of thr community as the money you pay for staying goes directly to the community,
The lodge is full of birds singing from the sunbirds to hadada ibis and much more, the monkey visits while dining looking over the mountains of the moon(Rwenzori) is so rewarding from the top view of Lake mwamba,
I strongly recommend this lodge for everyone that is looking for a place to stay while changing community lives
I liked everything and it looks cheaper than what it could cost
