Beautiful view
The view was amazing!
The food was overpriced - and while we appreciate that the lodge celebrated the school results with the community it would have been nice to have been informed about the loud music and big group of people at the site. We specifically booked this hotel for a night away from busy Kampala to rest en enjoy nature. 5-6 hours of loud music did take the purpose of that away.

Fantastic place
Fantastic place with wonderful views. The money from your stay goes to the NGO and school next door. Recommend you stay here if in the area!

I had a lovely stay at Mwamba Kelele lodge - stunning location and very friendly staff!
The location and the fact that it is managed by an NGO and part of a broader programme to positively impact local communities.
Everything was was great.

Really not bad. The view made up for the inconveniences!!
It was inside on village roads...expect rustic and you'll be fine. It was a good African experience for my guest.
That I (that's me myself) did not read that it was "shared bathrooms" Oops! 😞

Exceptional
The mwamba kelele lodge was something like an hidden paradise to us! From the first moment we really enjoyed our stay and we were so sad, that we just booked for two nights! The staff was very friendly, helping out and the food was just delicious! The area with the craters and the community is so wonderful, we already enjoyed our ride to the accommodation! The camp is part of an organization which is supporting children and women from the community. It’s so impressive to see! We highly recommend that place, you miss definitely something if you skip on it!

A big school with adjecent lodging by one of the smaller of the 50 lakes in the area.
Mwamba Kelele is a big school, some women's projects (textile)- and complimentary lodging. It has a nice view of one of 50 crater lakes in the district. It is nearby other lakes. They care about sustainability. They provide a light for when the power shuts out in the evening. There is a nice view, cold beer and pretty bird song in the morning.
First: There are other places around with more value for money by the crater lakes. MKL is a spanish school project with adjecent lodging, many Spanish volunteers come here. Not sure why young children in Uganda need to learn Spanish. Managers were away, but the lady who greeted me made a deal with a driver to pay 80.000 shillings for a 15 minute trip to the next loge. I tried to negotiate, but she was making me beleive I had no choice, or way, to get there- pushing me, inappropriate. Shared dorm lacked basic ameneties. No hot water in the shared showers. The lake, although beautiful - sits on the brink of ecological disaster due to the introduction of tilapia. I lappriciated the knowlegeble boat man and the guys down at the shore, or "beach" as they call it. Food was very greasy, Spanish-y and Julius the chef didn't understand my diatary restrictions, so I had to eat what I was served and I did get sick. A lot of noise from the huge school, understandable - but the drumming went on from 5 to 7. I had arrived- after driving for 8 hours, it was exhausting. I visited the workshops and the women there were not very friendly and were reluctant to show me the fabrics they were using. The lady at the shop was very sweet until she realized I wasn't going to buy anything. There are other beautiful lodges around.

Stunning views from this community lodge
Amazing work being done here in the local community which we witnessed first hand. The lodge itself offers incredible views from the rim of the crater lake. We enjoyed the food, especially breakfast looking out at the peaks of the distant mountain range to the sound of laughter and singing from local school children. This is a lovely place to stay for a couple of days, especially as we could walk down to the lake and enjoy a beer by the water there. The money you spend staying here goes back into the community. It's a win-win for everybody
